Shepard Smith on CNBC Nightly News showed the entire 13 minute clip that the Democrats presented at the beginning of the impleachment yesterday. Wow. It was powerful and really sobering and scary.
The lawyers representing Trump felt they had to change their approach after seeing it. It didn't go well for them. Especially Castor.

I understand Trump wasn't happy with the way his lawyers performed.
The sad thing is, all of this probably won't sway any of GOP Senators to change their vote.

I watched a bit of the presentation today and I was in tears over the fear the police and Capitol staff were in. I would hope some of that would get through to the GOP, but it probably won't

No they will vote to acquit. But the evidence is out there for all to see. None so blind as those who will not see, eh?

lani, you are so right. It's not like Trump did any of this behind closed doors. Everything was very public. It's a shame (sham) that the GOP is going to let him get away with it.

Today I read an article in the Washington Post that also had all the video evidence in the impeachment trail from Wednesday the 10th. A number of the clips were repeated in multiple videos. Anyway it was really bad in the Capitol on January 6th. If they had found some lawmakers and/or staff there is a good chance they would have killed them. One video collection was all the time Trump talked about the election fraud since last spring. What was chilling was listening to his video from the 6th when he asked the rioters to go home. He was saying their upset was understandable since the election had been stolen from him. It is hard to watch him repeat the lie over and over knowing he is doing it to manipulate them. Watching all the videos today of the rioters I felt a little like I felt after 9/11.

How any of the Senators will be able to vote to acquit is beyond me. But you know there will be many GOP Senators who will do just that. It's so sad and makes me so angry. They lived through that riot. I cannot put myself in their shoes and understand how they can be blind to what happened.

I bet tomorrow the defense is going to play back lives matters marches where a one or 2 person not in the group destroys something and they blame them.

That was a rhetorical question wasn't it?

He was saying their upset was understandable I know. "That's what happens..." Uh, no. Another gem was when he said he loved them and they were special (possibly "very special", I don't recall).

luanne, They want to get reelected and since the "mob" has taken over the Republican Party they are beholden to Trump and the mob. Most of the local GOP organizations are also beholden to Trump and the mob. Also some of them want to run for president in 2024.
