This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Happy February everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend!
I managed to stick to my points this week! And I lost a little (the same as last week, actually). Again, I was lower earlier in the week. It's frustrating that it's so slow going, but I really think that I am taking better care of myself, which is the main thing.
I had a productive weekend and I feel ready to take on the week.
Hope you all are doing well!

Hello Everyone - Can't believe it's already February! Hope it's a good month for us all wwlurker - Thanks for starting the thread and I'm glad to hear you stuck to your points and lost weight - congratulations on that I get frustrating with how long weight loss takes too, but you are smart to know that taking care of yourself is the most important thing. DotRen- I'm glad to hear you did well last week too I think I tried those nuggets several years ago and they were good. I like spicy foods. I'm ready to start this month. I lost some weight in January and I hope to lose at least 5 pounds this month and just stay on track. It has really helped me that I don't go to the grocery store as often and I actually haven't eaten out since early March of 2020 when the virus crisis started in my area. I do miss fast food though Take care everyone!

Glad to see positive posts. I lost .6 last week and my goal is .5 a week. Slow and steady like a turtle, that's my moto. Meet with dietitian today and made goals for more walking and no fast food. Hope to exceed my goal this month.

Good morning
Wwlurker, thanks for our monthly start. Glad you are doing good
Tracker, I’ve been MIA so much lately I never said welcome. So welcome 😉
Cj, I know hard to believe it is February already. It does help not going to the store as often.
Amy, good luck starting over.
I’m trying to get back on track myself working on getting blue dots, my water and fruit in. My exercise this week is shoveling snow LOL

Hello! I have 3 days left in my week and I'm down to 6 WPs. I don't like being in this position, but as long as I'm mindful of what I am eating, I should be able to stay fairly OP this week. So far, the scale isn't doing much of anything this week, but I've been pretty sedentary and I have been eating more than usual, so that's not a surprise. I'd still like to see a modest loss this week, but we shall see. cj59 - not going to the grocery store (or anywhere really) has really helped me too! There are just far fewer opportunities to go off plan. tracker - slow and steady is my motto for now as well. I am not as young as I used to be, so it's slower anyway, but I also have no desire to severely restrict myself as I do not see that as a healthy or sustainable plan. amyrs - good luck on the restart! sunrose49 - I love shoveling snow. DH finds it odd, but it feels like such good exercise. I hope you are all doing well.

Good morning
Wwlurker, sounds like you are doing good being accountable for your points. I need to be better. I don’t mind shoveling. There is something about being outside that feels refreshing to me.
Cj, sounds like you are doing good too. Exercise will come.
Waving to all
I need to work on meeting my step goal I’ve been slacking. I got the munchies last night. I’m mad at myself for that but will move on today.

wwlurker, cj59, tracker, amyrs, sunrose49, *waves to everyone* I'm doing ok, mostly on plan. I was really starting to feel tired a lot, so I've had to increase my carbs a little. I was only having about 30g carbs a day for several weeks. I guess getting older, that's not going to work any more lol. I've gone up to around 60g a day and am feeling less tired and sleeping better.

sunrose - Good luck with meeting your step goals. I quit wearing my Fitbit and I know that contributes to my lack of exercise. DotRen - I'm glad that increasing your carbs has helped you feel less tired and to sleep better. It's really interesting how what we eat can affect us, isn't it? Last night and today was the first time since I started back on a plan that I really felt like overeating. I did alright though and stuck to my daily points/calories. I've just felt stressed lately and I always turn to food to deal with that. I know there are many other things to do that can help with stress, but turning to food was always more comforting to me. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans

Good morning and happy Friday! cj59 - I'm a comfort eater as well. I've found that rather than trying to curb the habit, I do best when I try to increase my arsenal of coping techniques (i.e, reminding myself to breathe, exercise, meditate, have a tea but not necessarily trying to stop comfort eating, just adding in other techniques), or when I find lower point choices for my comfort eating and making sure that I have plenty of them in the house - so having popcorn instead of chips, fudge bars instead of ice cream, etc. DotRen, I love my carbs. As a vegetarian, I find restricting them in any way very difficult. amyrs, the oatmeal packets sound like a good snack. I agree with DotRen about maybe pairing them with some protein Tomorrow is my WI, and I'm not quite out of WPs yet, but I expect that I'll go a bit over yet again. Nothing major, but definitely by a few. Movie night strikes again! I'm hoping for a bit of a larger loss than I've had the past couple of weeks. It's frustrating when it's so slow, but the alternative is to restrict myself more and then rebound with binges, so I'd much rather take the small losses! Hope you all have a great weekend!
