Welcome to our 2021 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

DRYUARY! Challenge! Letās begin!
January 1 through February 12 (Lunar New Year)
Will this be your year? YES!! Twenty years since Y2K and it seems like the bug might have finally landed. But with that said, some things just have not changed. We went into the pandemic thinking this will end, letās see what we can get done. Oops 2020 is over and we need to embrace a new and better 2021. Embrace with eyes wide open, with accountability, with questions not just going along, being the best you can be.
Now remember you need to be in the best shape you can be along with being a semi hoarder cuz if the zombie apocalypse comes, you need to be prepared, just a thought!
So with thatā¦letās start tweaking and niggling to make this year work for us. We can do this!
For many, New Year day means kicking off the year with a healthy beginning! We commit to healthy eating, no drinking and getting into shape. We want to cleanse our ourselves, our space, our environment. We need to eliminate the toxins so we can rejuvenate from within. We've filled ourselves with ācelebratoryā food and alcohol to enjoy the holidays or to medicate ourselves from the stress of the holidays. Come January 1 it is a fresh beginning.
So we come to the board to hold ourselves accountable. We come to the board to share our ups and downs, to share ideas of what works and what doesnāt. We come to the board to bond. We come to the board to celebrate success without food or alcohol.
Are you ready for this new challenge? If wavering, no matter, join in and take what works for you. Share, enjoy the bonding!

We walked around the clubhouse, then went on to Publix to get our stuff for our Super Bowl "party". Was disappointed by the game, thought it would be closer. We enjoyed our feast though. BOT today! There's frost on the ground, temps in the 20's, so we will be waiting for it to warm up before we walk.
Jan- WTG AF41, blue dot, steps, AP, staying off the computer. Sorry about the cold. Hard to believe this will be your 4th summer already! I really liked Bohemian Rhapsody, especially the music. Yes, I'm still using shells from Florida. I wish I had saved more of the flat beach rocks for decorating. I did the pine cone wreath on an "evergreen" wreath I've had for years. with 8 good-sized pinecones scattered around it. I put a lot of Command hooks on the interior doors for Christmas and am trying to find nice wreaths for them all instead of just the bare hook.
Murphy- Hope you were able to recharge yesterday.
GG- The craft/ vendor show sounds fun, even if you didn't buy anything. Hope you had fun with Rylee.
Cathy- WTG AF32, walking. Glad you were able to speak with your son, sorry the vaccination roll out is such a mess in Alabama. May I ask what your goal weight is?
Cindy- Hugs! Brady looked good.

Good morning all. Back to work Mondy, will keep me off the screens, surfing screens, and keep me out of the snacks. Long inside day yesterday, ice cream, heavier meal, working for 3 rollovers today. Super Bowl was a big bust I thought, 1/2 time, commercials, bad calls, went upstairs before it ended. Seems the goal was for the "Great" Brady to win at home, in Fla blah blah. Guess this weeks big entertainment show will be the impeachment trial so I'm glad I'll be at work most days while DH has that on TV. Still very cold, never went out yesterday so hoping the car starts right up after sitting a few days. Did spend some time cleaning up some yarn, bags of crafts, started a bag for the thrift store. Hope you all have a great week. Jan Cathy The scale certainly moves at it's own pace, you have been doing well. Glad there's food in the house, I'm sure you'll come up with a yummy meal plan. It's crazy the roll out is such a mess when they had a year to figure out a plan for it, just nobody did anything. GG Have a great day with Rylee. Hope the kids don't have any side affects from the vaccine. I haven't heard of that recipe website, I'll have to check it out. thanks. Glad you got to visit at the craft fair. Murphy Maybe the energy fairy will arrive today, I'm sure you're just getting over your hospital run, covid shot etc. I think Callie is probably just as happy to snuggle all day on the couch. Amy Me to Salsa ha ha Sounds like you still had a productive day. The wreath sounds pretty. Liked you off season Santa pic, are there more in that set to make? All we can do is get BOT with the next meal of day, sounds like you had all the Super Bowl favorites! Looks like we're all going to have to work hard to keep up with Cory At least it looks close!, I could have done some more if I hadn't taken an afternoon nap...ha ha Have a good week. Hi to all.

Good morning all! I had a very nice recharging day yesterday! Wasn't without a bit of drama though! I got a call from my friend Linda asking me to bring her a few things to the hospital. I started feeling a bit uneasy about the situation. You know - one of those "the hair on the back of my neck is standing up! kind of feeling. I had some communication with another friend at church who is her neighbor and has been Linda's primary support the last few months. Seems like Linda tends to ask A LOT of people and appears to feel entitled to it. For example, her friend made arrangements to bring her cell phone and charger and some make up. But Linda called me wanting me to go get her a charger for her tablet that she had with her, a makeup mirror and a loofah! Does she think this is going to be a spa visit? I heard a lot more about how Linda has behaved over the last 5 months toward them as well. I certainly do not mind helping but I'll be a friend and not a social worker or her servant! It was good to have some confirmation about the feelings I picked up on at the ER and to know that her neighbor and I can be a support to each other. Linda never thanked me for staying at the ER with her for 8 hours. Instead of using the call button to ask the nurse to help her go to the bathroom, she would send me out to find a nurse. Just little things like that! Sorry to vent about these petty things here!
Amy - I didn't watch the game but I still made some snacks for supper! LOL
Jan - I can't believe this will be your 4th summer either!!
GG - the craft fair sounds fun! I sure hope that this summer will see all of us going to more craft fairs and yard sales! I'm excited that I'm going to be starting a new Bible study at church called Awaken by Pricilla Shirer. Are you familiar with it?
Carole - is your dad home and doing ok?
I will finally be having my beef stew day! I've got it in the crock pot and the house smells good! My plans today are to do a little grocery pickup and get laundry done. Hope you all have a great day! Murphy

Hi girls. As always, Rylee and I enjoy our time together. I didnāt sleep very well in the other bed in her room so I was ready for naptime! Iām not sure if she slept but I did! Lol She was quiet and rested no matter what! She was determined she was going to eat chippies, BBQ, for breakfast. When I said no, she could have them for lunch, she said, ok Iāll have cookies then! That girl!! Grandma won, but she wasnāt too happy with me!
Sounds like I didnāt miss anything with the football game!
I made lasagna for dinner. I havenāt put it through the recipe builder, but shouldnāt be too many points! And itās ready! Enjoy your evening!

Hi All,
Monday, Monday...okay, won't quote the Mamas and Papas song...but it is playing in my head!
Amy, yay for a good SB feast! It was disappointing with the lopsidedness but with Maholmes' turf toe injury and the events with the Reid family, wonder how many had their heads in the game. DH had season tickets to Tampa Bay pre me, so being in Florida when DS was born, DS became a Tampa Bay fan. I was happy for Brady and Gronk! Hope it warmed up so you and DH could walk. Is DS in Seattle or one of the surrounding towns? Sounds like a great location for a place to live.
Murphy, what a mixed bag with your church friend. I'm glad that you have someone to talk to about her. It crossed my mind, how sick can she be if she wants a loofah and makeup mirror. Stay strong and take care of yourself. Pay attention to your intuition.
Jan, sounds like a long day! I imagine people are trying to file early so they can get their refund. I hope you work with a good group of people.
GG, Rylee is adorable and sounds very smart and will walk rings around her parents!
Carole, glad your Dad is home and doing well. Maybe the nurse will have an answer about the fever at night. Sorry that the trip to Arkansas is cancelled. How are you doing?
Cathy, it is odd how the vaccine rollout is working in different states. My brother has an appointment in March for his, has to recover from his surgery first. My oldest brother and SIL are on a list and waiting to hear. They live in Massachusetts. My brother has had a heart attack and bouts of cancer and is 74. Glad you have supplies so you don't have to go out.
Hi Liz!
DS went to a "Cars and Coffee" event Saturday morning with a friend...then went to an Amazon store...once home, he went straight to bed....slept for about 18 hours...I did check to make sure he was breathing. He said he felt like he got a chill but no other symptoms other than tiredness. He doesn't think COVID cause he can smell and taste but it is always the first thought. Nothing can be simple like a cold or flu...he is thinking he may do one of the quick COVID tests tomorrow to be sure. If it isn't one thing, it is always another...
Got some stuff done today though I thought I was a bit slug like. Did get my 10K steps in though I didn't think I would. It was windy and cold today and it is suppose to get colder each day. Had to refill the feeders but I love seeing the red wing blackbirds, the cardinals and the finches. I may have to cordon off the section of the yard with plants or trellis or something...the ground is messy but nothing really grows there because the area floods when it rains. Why the pachysandra survive is beyond me.
Okay, enough rambling...off to read and sleep.
Hugs to all, Cindy
