Welcome to our 2021 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

DRYUARY! Challenge! Let’s begin!
January 1 through February 12 (Lunar New Year)
Will this be your year? YES!! Twenty years since Y2K and it seems like the bug might have finally landed. But with that said, some things just have not changed. We went into the pandemic thinking this will end, let’s see what we can get done. Oops 2020 is over and we need to embrace a new and better 2021. Embrace with eyes wide open, with accountability, with questions not just going along, being the best you can be.
Now remember you need to be in the best shape you can be along with being a semi hoarder cuz if the zombie apocalypse comes, you need to be prepared, just a thought!
So with that…let’s start tweaking and niggling to make this year work for us. We can do this!
For many, New Year day means kicking off the year with a healthy beginning! We commit to healthy eating, no drinking and getting into shape. We want to cleanse our ourselves, our space, our environment. We need to eliminate the toxins so we can rejuvenate from within. We've filled ourselves with “celebratory” food and alcohol to enjoy the holidays or to medicate ourselves from the stress of the holidays. Come January 1 it is a fresh beginning.
So we come to the board to hold ourselves accountable. We come to the board to share our ups and downs, to share ideas of what works and what doesn’t. We come to the board to bond. We come to the board to celebrate success without food or alcohol.
Are you ready for this new challenge? If wavering, no matter, join in and take what works for you. Share, enjoy the bonding!
Options for being accountable!
What is the accountability for you this week?
What anxiety will you let go of?
NUTRITION ACCOUNTABILITY Ugly and good days Drink more water Drink your height in water….68 inches tall equals 68 ounces of water….add 8 ounce every seven days One or more fruit daily One or more vegetable daily Track nutritional intake Grocery List Share a healthy recipe Low Sugar, limit added sugar to 24 grams or less AF/AIM/AIE
EXERCISE SUGGESTIONS Shelf push ups Hoola hoops and jump ropes Step block….okay, Jane Fonda days Touch your toes Sit ups!
Create your own and share your own plan
JUST JOURNAL!
What did you do for yourself today? Motivational quote
HABIT ACCOUNTABILITY
We can be and will be accountable and supportive to each other. As always no judgement, just encouragement, and if needed, tough love though we are usually toughest on ourselves. Set your accountability goals and let's get to work. Let’s be healthier versions of ourselves come February 12.

January 1 start weight: 177.4 January 8: 176.1 January 15: 175.4 January 22: 175.9 January 29: 175.2 February 5: 175.4 Final Weigh In February 12:
I spent about two hours on the project for work before we went to walk, then another two hours in the afternoon. The nature trail was nice, the sun was warm. Most of the exercise shells were there, although re-arranged. We decided to have Super Bowl leftovers for dinner, I ate less, but still too many points. Most of the stuff is gone now, DH will probably finish it off for lunch.
Just finished my e-visit with the doctor, such a convenience! I'm going to continue tapering off the Prednisone by 1mg every two weeks. Fingers crossed I don't have a relapse of the pain.
It's warm here this morning, already up to 47. I guess we'll be able to walk a little earlier.
Jan- WTG blue dot, AP, steps. Your beef stew sounds yummy. I was okay with the halftime show, not that exciting, but I do like the Weeknd. Sorry about the long tough day at work. I was surprised about Cory's steps on the weekend, we'll see how many he gets during the week.
Murphy- Glad you had a nice re-charging day on Sunday and got your beef stew going yesterday. Linda sounds very needy. A loofah in a hospital???
GG- Yay for fun times with Rylee and 2-point lasagna.
Carole- Glad is doing well. Hope all goes well with the nurse and the PT today. Sorry about the Arkansas trip.
Cindy- Now I have Monday, Monday stuck in my head. Glad you got stuff done. Hope DS is feeling better. Eldest DS lives in Olympia, which I think is about an hour south of Seattle. I've never been, but look forward to visiting.
Cathy- WTG AF33, OP, dealing with all that produce.

Good morning, slept a little later and feel ready to face the day. Work 10-5 so will get in my AP this morning before I leave the house. Have a box to drop at the PO for DS and GF with Valentine goodies inside. DH is in charge of dinner and I have my day pre tracked and feel prepared to face the crazy at work. Found some Fiber One 2 point brownies that I have been taking with me to take off the sweet edge and it seems to help. Got a letter from SS yesterday talking about if I wanted to start benefits, which for me is like $300 a month because of teacher pension. I'm going to look into it, figure that could be a car payment as I want a newer SUV Toyota or Subaru. Been looking at options but we didn't want to take a loan. I'd take one if I knew there was a steady payment and it's not money we already were using. Need to see how it affects the healthcare, was going to wait until October when I could start Medicare, but may just go for it. Something to look forward too, want a bigger car for road trips and travel. I'm sure today will start the binge watching of news again at our house, glad to be gone most of the day I guess Hope you all have a great day. Jan Amy Glad you could do a virtual Dr visit. I have to start with a new Dr this week as mine left the clinic I was at in town and now I have to go to Appleton. See how I like them if I have to travel or else look for a new primary here in Oshkosh. Cory probably just was feeling the rush of new competition Sure the work week may be different. Hope you can get out to visit your other DS this summer or spring. At least in Olympia the traffic may not be as much of a mess as Seattle, it's gone crazy up there. Hope DH eats up all the SB treats today!! Warm weather sounds lovely. Cathy Glad the produce got put away and now you can just enjoy your day/ evening. Cindy Fingers crossed DS just has some "junk", and can just sleep it off. Hope he's home from work today and resting. You need to stay healthy too!! I feel like I haven't seen a bird in days!! All hiding somewhere because of the cold. Yay for keeping up with your steps. I will concede I was happy for Gronk certainly KC did not seem to have it's head in the game. Carole Hope they figure out dad's fever and he continues to get better. Guess there's always a reason for things and now you don't have to worry about his care as you're not going to Arkansas. Hope they can schedule another game soon that you can go watch. have you done any more snow shoeing or snow too crusty? GG Glad you got in your nap, Rylee sounds like quite the character. Funny she's testing some boundries with you but will follow the rules, does she give in as easily at home or get angry? Did you use regular noodles for your lasagna or special ones? Sounds yummy! Murphy Your friend sounds like she's a bit entitled and I'm glad you are establishing some boundries.. People will think because you're retired you have so much "FREE time" that you're at their beck and call. What's on the plan for today? Hi and Hugs to all.

Hey everyone!
Amy, my first thought was Cindy is inchoate! And I'm part of the turtles herd. Nice to laugh first thing in the AM. Thank you! Glad you can taper off the prednisone...and fingers and toes crossed that you do well. Have you ever determined how this started? Just glad you were able to find a doctor that could help! Olympia is beautiful! Hope you can visit this summer! How goes DD's job search?
Jan, Gronk is just such a happy person! How did your day go? DH and I met with a SS advisor and determined that taking my SS early worked...of course, never expected that he would die when he did. But still glad I did when I did....based it on that I would live till 85. All seems like a crap shoot.
Cathy, I bought produce last week and haven't finished prepping it for meals...tomorrow on schedule. Did 15 pound of limes today...hand finally rebelled at the last 3 pounds but done none the less. Glad you were able to get back on your book download.
Hi Murphy, GG, Carole and Liz! Hope all is well.
Hugs, Cindy
