WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C114D6, 12 purple points, 1198 calories, 29 fiber (vs 21 MFP goal), 80 protein (vs 60 MRP goal), treats = 15% total calories, twice around mall with friend, 6625 steps.
Steve just texted that he may be coming alone cuz not sure about Leila's practice schedule. Either way is just fine with me. I love one on one time with Steve and I can catch Leila and Cathy any time after he leaves. I'll isolate the meal while remaining strong before and after and will definitely not overdo it. I think I better skip the mall tomorrow. I just can't catch up to myself.

1843 calories 98g protein 41g fiber 0g added sugar Feb challenge 10/10
Nancy, enjoy dinner and enjoy the company!
I’m debating how I want to handle my eating this weekend. There will be treats around, and one of them will most likely be chocolate covered strawberries, my favorite, from my favorite chocolate place. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to take the weekend off from tracking but not go completely crazy.

Good work news!! Starting 2/22, At least for now, I’ll be back to working our normal 37.5 hrs a week - one day in-office, rest work from home. Boss did say, if needed, they may ask for additional in-office days, but for now I’ll take it!!
Nancy, so happy built bite treat is working for you!!! I do have it marked as treat but really can be either....if it helps keep things in control, I don’t care what it’s called...lol Enjoy your dinner and especially time with Steve. Totally understand how priceless time is with son, one on one!
Jan, Chocolate covered strawberries sound yummy!! You have me thinking of Valentine celebration and how to treat it...For myself, thinking I’m going to make a Special, healthy dinner and Buy a bakery treat. I’ll look to see what single serving decadent options I have....For me, I found I can have either a decadent dinner or dessert - when I have both, can lead to more. Boy, I have really learned a lot about myself....lol
Meg, so glad your posting and your listening to HSM - I just find her refreshing that she doesn’t promote a plan, doesn’t tell you what to do or not to do - just shares what she has learned and encourages you to find your own path.....
Kathy, Wishing you continued Strong Days!!!

Good morning. I've decided to start building (re-building) some better habits. I will add exercise and tracking food to my attempts at no sweet treats.
Have a great day, all.
Peace.

They're all coming!! We're going to Olive Garden. I'm going to have angel hair pasta with meat sauce - and a salad and a bread stick. BUT... I'm going to have them serve the sauce on the side so I can use half or less and the salad dressing on the side so I can use a smidge. Shouldn't be too bad but I will isolate it. My plan surrounding it calls for 8 points and 788 calories if I even consume that much. Last night was good with the built bite but I was up forever so eventually caved to 6 good n plenties (1 pt and 25 calories). Not too bad.
Jan - you're doing great with this challenge. Could you possibly decide in advance just what you'll have in order to keep a degree of control? Like maybe 3 strawberries. one dessert and 3 additional treats... well, something like that so it isn't totally open ended. Just a thought.
Lori - Wonderful news about the new hours! I'm also calling the built bite a treat. I forget what HSM stands for. Can you listen to podcasts online or only on the devices?
Meg - Best of luck with your new habits. May I suggest that just in case you do give in to a treat, be sure to track it as a way of remaining in control. For me that makes all the difference.

Hi guys. I made it through the tough "it's late afternoon and I deserve to eat what I want" moment. Yay.
Nancy: Track it all, yes ma'am.
Now need to think about 2 old issues that still apply: need breakfast ideas (I'm not crazy about eggs but I eat them) and how to get more veggies in. (If you heard a little whine there, you probably heard right. Heh.)
Peace.

Meg - I had a BLT on half a 647 english muffin for breakfast this morning. Enjoyed it. I often have 1 T whipped pnb on a slice of 647 bread or 5 petit toasts, Or 1 wedge baby bel or Laughing cow cheese on 5 petit toasts, or Canadian bacon on a slice of rye toast, or 1/2 bagel thin with 1 T whipped cream cheese and 1/2 oz smoked salmon, or 1/2 cup dry cereal with a sliced banana and 1/2 cup ff milk, or an ounce of Boarshead lite liverwurst on a slice of 647 bread, or a ramekin of Lori's protein cheesecake, or a slice of rye toast with 1 T whipped cream cheese and a smear of sugarless jelly, or a grilled cheese toastite, or oatmeal made with unsweetened almond breeze and with raisins and walnuts. All of the above with a fruit - maybe an orange or banana or cantalope or pineapple or grapes. Who knows? Maybe you'll get an idea or two. I tend to have veggies with lunch or dinner but rarely with breakfast.
