This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here!

Well, not sure what my sleep issue is tonight. I followed my normal nightly routine, got to bed and could feel myself getting sleepy and dozing off and the next thing I knew I was wide awake with no feeling that I might get back to sleep. I might be in for a nap later... Susie - Oh goodness, that does sound like a long drive. Best of luck for the dress shopping today. I hope YDD finds just what she's hoping for. Janet - I'm sorry things are still difficult. Hopefully when all of this covid stuff settles things will be better at work for you. I can't imagine that a lot of people would be that eager to leave a job in the current environment. I would think it might be difficult to find other work right now. Not much happening around here today. It rained all day Thursday and is supposed to be cloudy and grey all day today, rain Saturday, cloudy and grey again Sunday, rain Monday, Wednesday and Thursday next week. We might need to start work on an ark. Well, not much else at the moment. I'll check back later. I hope everyone has a terrific Friday!

Good morning and Happy Friday everyone. I went back to the eye dr. yesterday to order new glasses. I was able to get 2 pairs for the price I usually pay for one. I really like this eye dr. I got some cute new frames that have a little clip on them for sunglasses. (I wanted new sunglasses and a pair of glasses just for the computer). Since I found the frames that just have the little clip I got those (and they were being discontinued so they were 1/2 off yay!) and I got the computer glasses. The computer glasses frame are a little different than what I would normally choose but I thought, oh why not, especially since I will only be wearing them when I am on the computer. I should have both pairs in about 10 days. The guy also worked on my current frames which were wonky and loose. They also have these little wipes that help make your glasses anti-fog which I NEED when wearing a mask so I got a box of those. My old manager messaged me at 6 a.m. and needed his old employee #. I called him and he was out and on his way to Lowes. He is such a sweet guy. He and his wife and talking about moving to Kentucky for retirement. They went last weekend and looked at houses there and they have made an offer on a 14 acre farm. He sounds happy. It was good to hear him sounding happy. I talked to him a little about the current situation at work, which isn't bad, it is just different. Susie have a great time with your DDs and the grands. Wedding dress shopping is exciting. Janet sorry you are having so many issues with work. I agree with Lora - I would be afraid to be looking for a job now. Hang in there. Hopefully things will get better for you. Lora I guess because I never put my phone on silent I always worry about bothering other people. I am fine if you don't answer my right away. I know people are not sitting by their phone just waiting for me to message them. Even though, they really should be, I am an awesome person to talk to.... I checked the scales this morning and still no movement. I know I haven't been 100% but I am hanging in there. I also haven't tracked consistently. I was getting too much into the #s with the glucose and ketone strips. What I was doing before was working and I changed it up trying to figure out the strips. I am going back to sort of intuitive, eating when hungry and not worrying about what the strips say for now and tracking everything. Sorry you did not sleep well that sucks. Not a whole lot going on here - work and more work - yucky weather - freezing rain. I am in my sweats today and plan on staying in them all day and staying hunkered down at home.

It rained most of the night and into the early morning hours, but today is just drippy, grey, foggy & cold. Yuck. I ended up dozing some more in the den early this morning, but I think only about 45 minutes to an hour. Hoping for better sleep tonight.
Jana - I certainly get the phone never being on silent. For the last 15 years of my career I was on call 24x7 unless I was on vacation. I can't tell you how many middle of the night calls I got from store personnel and help desk personnel over the years. That was one of the first things I did after my last day, was to start setting my phone to silent. I'm so glad that you heard from your old manager and that he seems to be doing well. It's a difficult adjustment to make, but it sounds like he's making the best of it.

Hello - I slept well in this big, beautiful cabin. When we got here DD’ s future had a wonderful fire in the fireplace. He got up early, loaded up his snow mobile, and too off with a buddy for the day before anyone (but me) was up. We all stays in pjs until after noon, then go dressed and went to a walk down to the lake - it seemed like a long walk, but probably wasn’t, we were just so bundled up - pretty cold here in NH. We are in for the day/ evening now. DDs got a fire going and I am snuggled up in a blanket.

Susie - Awww. It sounds like you're having a lovely time. How wonderful the cabin, the lake, the snow and the cozy fire must be.

Happy Friday!!! Susie, sounds so Hallmarky up there!! We watched a buying cabin episode set up in New Hampshire, and it's sure beautiful up there!! Have fun dress shopping! Lora, did you get a nap in? I sure hope tonight is MUCH better!! Jana, what a great glasses shopping trip!! Also, it sounds like your old manager will be enjoying retirement. We just returned from our Friday night grocery trip, and before that we went to the gym. In a bit we'll watch Jeopardy that we recorded. It's another exciting night for us... lol. DH and I discussed tonight that we sound so boring, but that's just what we love. I hope everyone is enjoying your Friday! ❤️

Jill - nope, no nap. I stayed busy with this, that, and the other. We watch Jeopardy and The Weakest Link...Lol. So yeah, we're about the same level of exciting. Mark went into the city for his Patio Posse. It's cold, but his friend has several of those huge propane heater things, so I guess they're comfortable enough. I'm not sure I can say the same thing for me though. After he left I smelled that discomforting smell of hot electrical...similar to when you're ironing a shirt and scorch it. I immediately started making my way through the house and checking anything and everything that was plugged in and couldn't find a thing. Then it dawned on me that I could smell it in every room...so it had to be coming in through the heater vents. So I shut down the unit and went outside to check it and couldn't find anything amiss. But when I came back in and tried to power it back up, it wouldn't come on. I've added to heavy quilts on top of the bed that should be enough to get us through tonight. IDK if Mark will try to get the HVAC guy out tomorrow or try to wait until the weekend. Last summer when it went out and we paid the extra "weekend charge", the didn't get the part until Monday afternoon anyway, so it cost us that extra charge, and I really don't thing we gained anything. Sigh. I guess it'll depend on how cold it is in the house when we wake up in the morning. haha. We do have a tower style infra red space heater that Mark uses in his office, I suppose we can bring that into the bedroom tonight just in case we truly need it. It has a remote control, so we could easily turn it off and on without having to get out from under the blankets.

Jill - I have not watched Unicorn yet. I've seen the promos for it, and it certainly looks like it could be funny. I'm not overly worried about staying warm. We can put on layers, and like I said we do have that tower space heater that we can use. It won't be the first time we've been a bit chilly, and that's fine. One time many years ago in our ATL house, our furnace crapped out on the absolute coldest day that we'd had in many winters (of course). We got an HVAC company out and it was in such bad shape and something was cracked that made it hazardous, so they actually condemned it. Lol. It was several days of lots of layers and hats in the house before they could replace it. The ones we has were so old, they couldn't find parts for it. Haha! Hopefully, this one won't be that dramatic though. Lol.
