Good morning friends. Went to bed a bit earlier and woke up to 0 degrees but refreshed. I shall go to Walmart today in town but DOUBT I'll do any outdoor walking...not unless it warms up in a hurry LOL.
Other than Walmart, nothing on the agenda. Still wondering who that gal is in the mirror rather than the 'shaggy dog' with the hair LOL.
Funny, but Carl reminded me that when I went into the hospital 4 years ago we were having a blizzard. We got their very early to avoid the snow and just waited in the hospital....then when he picked me up 2/12 there was another blizzard. Funny how things like that stick out in your mind. I was oblivious to the first and by the time he picked me up, the roads were fine.
Wishing all a wonderful OP day and I'll CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
We also woke to zero degree temps, with snow predicted. I slept very well and got up at 7 o'clock. I am so glad not to have school today!
DH waited and waited for a call back from the cardiologist's office yesterday to no avail. He finally called again and was able to reach someone in a round about way and made his appointment for two weeks from Friday (and at a different office). This morning I started calling there and never was able to reach anyone, and finally tried that round about way and got a recording where I left my message that I'd like a call back. I explained that DH had had a test at the hospital on Wednesday and I was told one of the doctors would call me afterward, but now it is two days later and I have not heard anything from anyone! I don't know where the break down is, but something is very out of sync. Geez!!
Anyway, I have been doing a little bit of this and that this morning. I have emptied and cleaned and refilled the bedroom humidifier and started some laundry. I thought about going out for a walk but it is 16 dg now with a RF of 8, so I don't know. OTOH, the thought of some fresh air is very inviting.
I had my yogurt & berries w/F1 for breakfast and then a Clementine for a snack mid-morning. I have thawed out my last container of veggie/bean soup which I will have for lunch. I am planning on grilled hot dogs cut-up in baked beans with coleslaw for supper, and perhaps the remainder of the mac 'n cheese?? We'll have to wait and see ......
I am planning on some kind of pasta supper tomorrow night. I have jarred sauce and frozen meat balls and may dump it all in the Instant Pot with some pasta. Our pizza last night was a definite treat. We always order from Jet's, and last night we ordered the Hand-Tossed Pizza instead of the usual Detroit Style Deep Dish. I already had half of that one in the freezer, so we switched and now I have half of both in the freezer.
I had a fun coffee date with VBF, only the tables at Starbuck's are still marked "temporarily closed" and we ended up sitting in our cars (again!). It was damp and windy, so it felt colder with the windows open. I cannot wait until we can sit indoors and visit. We agreed that the next time we get together (for WW WI in two weeks) we will both be far enough out from our two vaccines that we can safely go into a restaurant, so we're planning on having breakfast out.
Ann ~ It is surprising that the larger Walmart didn't have all you were looking for. Hopefully the other one will allow you to fill in the blanks? It is always surprising to me how the stocking changes from day to day, even though I shop at the same store. When I went Monday they had plenty of distilled water and I picked up 3 more gallons. When DH had found it at Kroger they had a 2 jug limit.
Judy ~ It is really too bad that they don't want to hole that attorney responsible for her actions. Apparently what she did is not considered "wrong"?? But I personally think whenever a professional doesn't fulfill their duties it should be dealt with. She should have some responsibility. I do hope you and your DD continue to get the word out??
Pam ~ I would LOVE if my yoga class would reopen! I keep watching and waiting, and I think that now it would be safe and I'd be comfortable there. I agree with the plan of a couple of weeks after the second vaccine, I'd be able to (not relax my practices) at least do some things that don't feel threatening, still masked and using hand sanitizer and social distancing. At our workout facility (which is through our school system) we all spaced out in the past and only touched our own "equipment" and it seem very safe with a bit of care. But I guess we'll see.... I was glad to have DH home earlier on Wednesday and he did appreciate being home. Also, he wasn't as affected by the anesthesia this time as the last time (when it seemed to take all afternoon to wear off).
There is a gentle snow falling and I am still debating about walking. I am also reading a book that I am really enjoying. It was an Amazon Prime pick this week and by an author I have read before.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi All,
Yes, Ann...brrrrr! I went out to feed the birdies and that was it. I'm thankful for the sun today.
Yesterday was a both full of good and bad news. The good news is that my former boss whom I really admired and loved working for just signed a contract as President of a great college in Illinois. It hasn't been publicly announced but he wrote to a few of us last night to share the great news! I can't wait to take a trip to the midwest to visit or attend the inauguration. Very well deserved and exciting. The rough news is that my older brother in FL has kidney cancer. He was very upbeat yesterday and thinks they found it early and at best case, he will lose just the tumor and part of the kidney - worst case he will lose that kidney altogether. Meanwhile, he reported that he went 4/4 in his softball game yesterday! Ever upbeat - that's him. Our mother had kidney issues and lived very well with 1/3 of one kidney and no second kidney for 20 years until she went on dialysis. So, it is hopeful for him and he has a great doctor.
I have a Zoom meeting this afternoon and not sure what else is on tap for the day. I had two soft boiled eggs for breakfast and a sumo orange from Whole Foods. Snack is a banana. For lunch, I will have some of the leftover cabbage, carrot and sausage and dinner tonight is a Hello Fresh burger. I am going to track every bite today.
TTFN...have a great day and good trip to Walmart, Ann. Oh- I sent out 10 valentine's cards to friends yesterday. I thought about some of my single/widowed and divorced friends and thought it might cheer them this year!

Hi Sue, we were writing simultaneously again! GMTA!
I agree, Sue, that you should have heard something by now! Good grief- someone dropped the ball. Usually they seem to call right after they get out of surgery. Hopefully, you will hear today. Do the test results take a while to process?
I hope you don't get too much snow but it looks bad all across the country. I could not believe the horrible accidents in TX. So tragic. Ice is just the worst. I can't even imagine how terrifying that was for so many.
I agree that the State Bar should have done something. I feared that they stick together and I hope, at the very least, that our terrible attorney thinks twice before duping more innocent people. I feel so let down but have tried to let it go. As DH said, at least it caused her some discomfort and a good deal of money having to hire her own attorney and spend her precious billable hours defending herself. So, the little guy didn't lose completely and I am glad they investigated her.
Have a good day and if you are up to it, I hope you enjoy that walk! I do see that Silver Sneakers has a lot of free online videos lately. I have done a few.

Sue I pray that someone gets back to you and TODAY. Enough of the waiting around. I can feel your frustration and it's just not right to keep someone hanging like that! Praying that you hear and that it's good news! We are planning our pasta fest on Sunday which is Valentine's day. I figure meat sauce is red and we'll go with that LOL. Yes it is amazing what they run out of and what they have in stock. No rhyme to reason. I will go later to our Walmart. Just need to put the big girl panties on, layer up and face the great outdoors! Such a pain when it's just so cold. I tell you one thing, there will be NO outdoor walking today. Poor LuLa went out 3 times so far and still has NOT done her business! Hopefully it'll warm up enough for her to go. sorry the restaurant was temporarily closed but at least you got to have your coffee with you friend. Judy good for you doing the freebie silver Sneakers online videos. I have tons of DVS's of Leslie and Richard Simmons that I SHOULD pop in but never do. I simply walk when the spirit moves me and read as I travel indoors I also agree that the state bar SHOULD have done something...but that's on them and not you or DH or you DD that suffered the consequences. It just doesn't seem fair that the powers that be would let that slide..... Pam waving and wishing you a good day. Will try to CBL..if not, see y'all tomorrow.

Pam, you are so right about professional groups covering for one another. Like you said, you basically have to commit a horrible crime with loads of press coverage to get them to punish someone. It stinks, but what can we do? We tried. I thought about writing bad reviews, but someone warned me off that strategy saying I could be sued for slander. Who messes with lawyers? That’s the issue! We have one more avenue we will pursue that the bar recommended. I did say my piece to the bar investigator in a polite and firm way. I told her that though she did a lot of work, she never arrived at the truth.
I’m glad your DH was able to get his fitting for the shoe inserts. I hope he listens to the doctor about wearing the right shoes all the time. I relate to hard heads!
I had a very sweet call from my DGS in CA this morning. He opened his Valentine’s from us and he was so happy to receive nice drawing pencils and a new special coloring/workbook I sent him. He loves to draw and is very interested in “schoolwork” – having a big sister helps. He also showed me a new stuffed animal and modeled the tee-shirt we sent him. DGD was doing her schoolwork so I didn’t chat with her today but she is having fun, too.
Ann, your red sauce on Sunday sounds great for Valentine’s Day!
Please send your prayers and thoughts to my wonderful big brother. I know he can beat this nasty cancer. Thanks.
"When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself." - Tecumseh

Judy win win with your boss and keeping DB in my thoughts and prayers. He has a fantastic outlook and to me that and a good surgeon is half the battle Stick to your guns, Judy...you have one more shot at it and I hope this time it doesn't fall on deaf ears! Happy to say that miss LuLa finally performed. Amazing how much time and effort we spend on her butt!!!! Nuff said! Happy that we were able to score what we needed at our smaller Walmart. We went by Hannaford's and the parking lot was just about empty so we picked up more produce and a few other odds and ends. Now that's all 'one and done' and all put away. I have been exhausted these last two days. Right now I'm going to sit and relax. I found myself dozing in the car and neither shopping places are far from home....I am going to spend the rest of the day in full slo mo fashion. should I not get back into the cafe....waving and will catch up tomorrow.

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
What a lovely lazy day I've had!! I did make a few phone calls regarding DH's test on Wednesday and got lots of run-around; and basically I'll have to talk to the doctor in two weeks when we go in for his appointment. I did find out the cardiology office is allowing one person per patient so I will be there!! But I made the appropriate amount of noise and filed complaints with a few people who should know. Now I'm done! Time to move on .....
I finished my book today and really enjoyed it! But I am glad that I have some more waiting "in the wings" so I can start up again tomorrow if the mood strikes me.
Right now we have some lovely snowflakes drifting down and we're predicted to have some more. I never did get outdoors today as it is just too cold! Maybe tomorrow??
Time to start supper as DH is on his way home. Have a wonderful evening .....

Glad that you got your point across and found the balance to step back. Wonderful that you can be with DH for his appointment.
I did another clean up in the kindle book department the other day. Tried getting involved in several freebie books and ended up deleting them.
Finally the Barbara Freethy book in the FBI series that I've beeb waiting for from the library became available so I quickly downloaded it. Now I am a happy camper.
Off to read....
Sweet dreams all.

Hello friends!
I had a very quiet day today, mostly reading and playing WWF. I did get the rest of my outdoor plants moved to a safe spot in preparation for our coming cold temps and snow/wintry mix. I did 2 Senior Medicare Patrol podcast trainings and one Alzheimer one online. It was cloudy today and never got above 36. Debbie and I waited until 3:00 to walk, but it was still damp and cold. The cats refused to go out all morning and the rest of the day only made quick trips out and back.
I had oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast. Lunch was the last of the shrimp stew, brown rice and California mix veggies. Dinner was leftover chicken and eggplant parm with a little pasta and some beets. I was down 2.5 at WI this morning, so very happy!
I read Judy's post about her DGS and realized I had not mailed the girls' Valentine stuff to MI yet. I hurriedly got it packaged and to the post office. They will enjoy it later, I'm sure, as it was a small paint set, some ink stamps and a couple of candies.
Ann - I am a firm believer in listening to one's body. When it says rest, rest. Your "shaggy dog" comment tickled me. My fb post from this date in 2010 was "A fire in the fireplace, a hot cup of coffee and a beautiful winter wonderland outside. Couldn't ask for more." Now we have sleet/snow in the forecast for Monday. I guess it's just that time of year.
Sue - Too bad the coffee date didn't go as planned, but at least you got to visit with each other a bit anyway. How frustrating about DH's follow-up! So you will be waiting for two weeks to get results?!?! Hopefully, it didn't show anything serious, but I would keep calling the office until I knew for sure. I get test results from my doctor's office online via MyChart, but not if I go to a specialist, unless the specialist is also affiliated with them.
Judy - I hope your "last avenue" to nail the attorney proves fruitful. I am so sorry to hear about your DB. It's good they caught the cancer early and it's treatable. He will be in my prayers.
DH and I are watching an old Audie Murphy western and then I plan to get jammified and start a new Alafair Burke book. It's the precursor to the last one I read and DH also bought the 3rd in the series. We both enjoy her books.
Have a great and restful night!
