Randy and I ended up in Big Lots this morning and found some really nice house hold things and the store was practically empty! Some people were starting to come in as we were finishing up. I got some very pretty kitchen bowls and a few new rugs to spruce things up, Randy wanted some new wash cloths, Lucy got some new food bowls, and we got the kids a small box of chocolates each. Picked up a few other necessities that were needed and then headed to Lowes for one more item on the list -Randy wanted a new charcoal starter. The bottom fell out of the one he had so this is a replacement. We were in AppleBee's by 11:15 and had a simple lunch before it got crowded. I had a grilled chicken caesar salad and he had a small steak and fries. Last stop was by the grocery store where I picked up a pack of pork chops for the grill later.
June, LOL I'm saving my days off work for better weather. What are you and R up to this weekend?
Ann, glad you got that walk in despite the 10 degree reading..I will have to do laps around the fireplace as it is raining, actually pouring outside today with no end in site anytime soon.
Becky, that sounds like some crazy winter weather you are getting. Do be careful if you have to get out. Sorry about the black berries. I love to get a container when we get to Sams. They are outrageously priced here in SC.
Audrey, Sounds like a nice evening for you and Bob. I tried to get into breaking Bad several years ago. I watched about 6/7 episodes and it just did not click with me but I know I'm in the minority and most people really love it.
Cathy, I went with the flat not so deep but they will be perfect for soup or most anything! Even a salad would work. Sometime nothing exciting is a good thing LOL hope you find all your family well when you chat with them.
MJ, AWw thanks for sharing the pic of Russ enjoying his birthday box. Its nice that you all made him feel special. It is really a sad situation.
Bee, you needed some Beano LOL sounds like a good idea to sleep it off.
Waving to Susi and Pam cbl

June - Hope your grading is done. How nice of R! Ann - Enjoy your chicken dinner. Glad the walk wasn't as bad as you feared. I can count on one hand the number of times I have been up past 11 p.m. in the past year. Becky - I wish your weather was better for walking outside for you. Stay safe yourself Audrey - Enjoy your food shopping and dinner. Glad the chicken was okay and you got to see your friend. Cathy - Your hummus wrap sounds really good. MJ - I'm glad that at least a little glimmer of the old Russ came through, if only for a moment. Bee - LOL on Clyde. That soup sounded delicious and decadent. My dad made the best potato leek soup. You brought back a funny memory. He had made it for us for dinner last night. It was very good but didn't taste like his normal soup. It was a bit on the sweet side. Well, it turns out that instead of half and half, he added amaretto creamer instead! Sounds like you scored some good stuff at Big Lots LaDonna. You never know what you are going to find there. I also had a chicken caesar salad for lunch! I was a little late getting out to feed the ferals, which made Lily's walk only 50 instead of 60 minutes. I had trouble with zoom and finally joined the meeting from my phone which I don't much care fore. Spin was very good and a "packed" (to COVID standards) class. I picked up one item that only once supermarket carries, dollar store for Lily's treats and another supermarket for scallops as they are the only local one that carries day boat or dry scallops. Carol scored at another supermarket and got me a jumbo package of chicken thighs for $0.49 lb.! I skinned them and packaged them for the freezer and cooked the skins for the ferals and my furkids. I'm taking Lily shortly for another walk before the bad weather arrives. I'm more concerned about ice than snow. If it's ice, I'll take everything over to her house to cook. Walking in a boot on ice is not a smart thing. It's supposed to be gone my mid morning. Tomorrow we are both going over to Cheryl's for an early Sunday supper of beef stew and salad and play some pinochle.

Kudos om your shopping trips LaDonna and Susi.
LaDonna your salad is a favorite of mine
Susi wow on scoring the chicken. Fur babies will love you for that treat.
Praying the weather misses all of us. They are predicting the wintry mix for tomorrow into Monday.

Randy and I ended up in Big Lots this morning and found some really nice house hold things After ShopRite we went across the parking lot to TJ Maxx - we'd gotten a really nice bottle of hand wash (suitable for our mostly-quarantined indoor activities) and I wanted to see if they had any more. We got lucky, too. We've got four bottles of nicely-smelly stuff plus two Cremo's (shave gel) for Toots. He passed on the Shea Moisture Bald Head Moisturizer, though .

Audrey Are you doing a walking challenge? Enjoy your champagne.
Ann I still average at least 10K steps a day just not as much as I could do in 2 walks outside but I'm fine with that too. I have been enjoying the walks on YouTube.
Cathy Good goals. HEB was very busy inside yesterday. Today we had to go to Walmart to buy a new electric skillet. The propane still wouldn't work for the stove and the heating element went out of the electric skillet so I microwaved eggs again. We needed something to cook in for dinner that couldn't be microwaved though. It is very cold here and we are expecting a winter storm like everyone else is. They are calling it historic because we are staying cold longer than it has before. We have had 3 days of not getting above freezing.
June I like the Sansone videos. They seem to be helping my knee because I am able to do moves I haven't been able to previously so it has been a win win for me. We started out the day at 26 and it's sticking right at 29. When we got to Walmart there was some ice just outside their doors. We haven't even gotten the arctic blast yet. That is coming either tonight or tomorrow night. So we are getting the 2 systems in addition also. I read where 40 out of 48 states are expecting this.
MJ I hope you were able to get everything you needed at the store. Ouch on the sewer blockage. Hopefully Russ did at least like his gift.

Lol to Toots passing π.
Becky some days I am over my Garmin goal some days I hit my personal goal and other days I come short to hitting 10k. Way I see it is it's all good. Yes I feel much better having walked. Sometimes I just choose not to listen to good advice lol.
I also like the Leslie walks.

Ann Stay warm. It is 29 here with a wind chill of 19. Glad the walk wasn't as bad as expected. We haven't seen the sun in awhile.
Bee I hope you were able to take a nap.
LaDonna I haven't been to a Big Lots in years. I was still working in Austin at the time. I'm glad you found what you wanted. Sounds like a great lunch. I told Kenneth we will go out after this weather is over. It is cold here. The last time we had temps as low as they will get Sunday and Monday was 1989. I get blackberries at our HEB because they are cheaper than their raspberries. While in Walmart I found a larger container that wasn't too pricey.
Susi Thanks. You stay safe also. It sounds like you made a good haul today. Enjoy your early supper tomorrow.
Ann Same here on the weather. It's supposed to start with ice and then turn into snow. Maybe it will be more in the Texas Hill Country than here.

Becky happy you found berries at a good price.
Our Big Lots here have changed over the years and the merchandise is not great. Used to love going there to shop. Now we stick to Ocean State Job Lots.

Becky my steps have not been up to par and I'm good with that. Audrey I've watched and enjoyed Breaking Bad. Also enjoyed Better Call Saul. Sweet dreams. Bob says heβs not sure if he likes breaking bad because it is character based and not action basedπππ

Ann Good for you! You gave new meaning to the phrase going for a "brisk" walk. The stir fry was very good.
LaDonna Haven't been to BLOts in awhile but the stores always seems to have something different. Glad you eachfound something and had a nice lunch out.
I bought some 7 grain cereal that R likes plus almonds& walnuts. Added some raisins to make a hearty, hot breakfast mix for him. Funny thing was that he just mentioned that he always liked that cereal. He was happy. Tomorrow we are have NY strip steaks.
Bee Oh. My. Goodness. Your digestive system was talking back!

Ann, the Big Lots here have gotten better and better over the years and have really stepped up their game lately. My cousin said she got the most comfortable mattress she'd ever had from there a few years back. We don't have an Ocean State here but I remember you mentioning it before. Hope you and Carl are warm.
Becky, it is bone chilling cold here , too and all we have is rain, rain and more rain. I'm so ready for some warm sun shining days. Hope you and K are warm.
MJ, LOL on the BH moisturizer...glad u found the hand soap you liked.
