Becky, glad the Chinese woman is leaving you alone. You are positively artic. 🥶 Linda, I have received those scam car warranty calls. The new thing on my mobile is smutty texts. 🤮 Kathy, you are going to have to get a new lense for the camera so you can take those long shots. Liz, I hope you are relaxing and feeling better. How’s the head and teeth? moonriver, Denise, are you surviving the cold? Karen, thanks for the start. We have more Vietnamese Americans than Chinese Americans around here. One of the restaurants and food marts was vandalized because of anti-Asian sentiment. Poor guy was so upset. He is just trying to make a living. I hope your friend’s partner has not encountered any people that harass and harangue him for being of Chinese descent. Yes, the bone strengthening session was 30 minutes. Some of the exercises needed great balance too. I needed a chair for those. Did you get to sleep in? Since we had sun yesterday and we had trampled the snow in the driveway with our tires most of it melted. 😁 It is a cloudy day today and 23°. The high is supposed to be 26°. We are closing in on the 30s. I changed the sheets today and Humpty insisted on “helping.” Then I had to get him an ice pack. 😞 I am going out of ear shot now and leaving my phone behind. Yes, if I don’t answer his calls, he texts me. 🤦♀️

Chele The arctic blast isn’t even here yet although the low was 26 with a feel like temp of 16.

Becky, OMG on your weather! Talk about unprecedented! I hope you don't lose power! Did you and Kenneth have to venture out this morning? Hope not. I turned on TWC at the top of the hour and what a shock! They said it has been at least a decade since you have been so cold for so long and with precipitation to boot. I think you need a huge warm up and send some of it our way. Congrats to Chief Manley. Brian has definitely put in his time. He was a patrol officer when we lived in Austin. Are they in the hiring process for his replacement?
How did the dishwasher install go, Linda? Good thing you answered that call from the installer. We typically will answer calls from odd local numbers if we are expecting a delivery, etc. We also get calls spoofing local company numbers such as the school board. I did answer some of them when we first moved here and they were usually trying to sell us resort property. We live on a lake, so we have no need of a vacation place.
Chele, I hope you make it into the 30s today. Good that some of the driveway snow has melted. Nice of Humpty to offer to help, but it sounds like he shouldn't have. LOL on leaving the phone. I hope he wasn't too needy. How is your back doing. We have very few Asian anything in this part of the world. We had a lot of Vietnamese in NC. Of course, we have very few non-white people here of any persuasion. Probably why we are heavy Trump country. We just keep reminding each other we didn't move here for the politics. I don't think my partner has encountered a great deal of hostility for being Asian because they live in LV where there are more minorities in general. The rest of his family who don't live in China are in CA where there are lots of Asians. That is so sad about the local Asian market being vandalized. That is so unfair to target him, epecially since he probably didn't personally bring the virus here. As the saying goes, "mean people suck". I did manage to stay in bed until about 7, so that was nice. I did a little Essentrics this morning that I found on YouTube. They were led by Sahra Esmonde-White, which must be Miranda's daughter. She moves a little faster, so a little more difficult to stay with to start.
How was DM's order, Kathy? Did you do Publix through Instacart or someplace else? You seem to be enjoying better weather than most of the rest of us. I think I would take a little of your humidity for a bit more heat. We have rain yet again today and it looks like it will be on and off for most of the coming week. I think it's starting to affect my mood.
Denise, are you also in the deep freeze? I hope you're off this weekend.
Liz, did you do your usual Saturday morning errands? How did it go with the neuro the other day? Did the new dentist get your lower plate adjusted? Are you getting back to a normal diet now? Covid seems to be slowing here, but I'm afraid it's a matter of not as many people getting tested. Is NYC prioritizing teachers in the phases? A friend who is in her late 40s and teaches at a charter school, has had her 2nd vaccine the other day.
Dale did the grocery shopping this morning and also took a trip to the orchard, so we are well stocked. He even found honeybell citrus at the orchard and got a couple varieties of apples. It's also a good place to get sweet potatoes, so Arya is set there for a while. I'm out of sushi, so it will be cranberry beans and jasmine rice for dinner tonight, with spaghetti squash, chopped kale, and mushrooms.

Karen, I had to look up Honeybell Citrus. We call them Minneola Tangelos here. Nice haul at the orchard. The back gets stiff very quickly and is touchy when exercising, so I am being careful. I finally got Humpty into and out of the shower. I hovered since the spasms come on him quickly. I have a hard time keeping up with Miranda. There is no way I could keep up with her daughter.

Karen, thanks for the start. DM's order was fine and I picked up my part of it today. We've been using Instacart. I was woken up by thunder and lightning this morning and we had some heavy rain for an hour or so after that. I would gladly send the rest of you 20 extra degrees, along with some of the humidity. Chele, I also need a DSLR to attach that new lens to. The stork didn't cooperate by coming around the pond, so the shot would've been through the screen porch. Nothing but ducks since then. We got some heavy thunderstorms earlier today and that tends to keep a lot of the birds away. Minneola is in Lake County to the west of here, but I've heard the fruit called Minneloa Tangelo and Honeybells. Lol on getting out of range of Iggy's texts. Becky, hope the arctic blast doesn't last too long where you are. We're still unseasonably warm, but I'm not complaining. Linda, my Valentine's Day plans include staying cool since it's plenty warm here. Enjoy the deli sandwiches tomorrow. Congrats on getting the new dishwasher. That makes sense that a mask would help with allergies. Ha, only 1 bottle of wine in the forecast for here, but time to break out the margaritas. We have a funny combination at the moment with the heat and the trees that turn are red right now. That cold snap from a few days ago must've convinced them to change color. Liz, hope you've been having a good weekend.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele It is cold here alright. It's going to get worse before it gets better. Our low was 26 and we are at our high of 29 with a real feel of 19 right now. Tell Humpty to sit down and not help.
Karen Yes it is unprecedented. It's supposed to be the coldest Monday and Tuesday than it has been since 1989 so it has been decades. The ice doesn't thaw since we haven't been above freezing for 3 days. We did have to go to Walmart this morning for a new electric skillet so we could cook dinner tonight. There was ice just outside their doors so we had to walk really slow through there. I haven't seen any ice since.
The propane isn't getting to the stove to cook because it's too cold and the heating element in the old electric skillet went out as I was trying to cook breakfast. Manley hasn't left yet but they are going to appoint an interim chief which Manley will help train.
No Valentines plans here because of the weather.

Linda Odd thing is it is only affecting flow to the cook stove. We have plenty of propane in the tank but we noticed the last time it got below freezing the same thing happened and when it got above 32 degrees it worked again. I guess we will see once it warms up again. The propane tank for the gas heater is working fine. The one for the cooking stove has farther to go than the other one.

Becky, I would gladly send 20 degrees your way! Glad you got the electric skillet so you can cook. I didn't know that about freezing weather affecting the propane.
Linda, totally agree on the heat pumps not being good for cold weather. It never really feels warm in here when it's cold out. Luckily, we don't have to put up with it for too long.
