Happy Valentines Day my Good Friends 💕❤️💕
I will walk before breakfast and PMTH. June, did you and R compromise on dessert? Your choices were pretty far apart. I plan to enjoy the day at home. There’s always lots to do. I caught up with laundry yesterday and have no shopping or errands Today is my bath soap day with time to relax. . Bob somehow misunderstood that I wanted flowers so I bought two bunches at Trader Joe’s and Rob brought me a third. Dinner is lobster, grilled asparagus, salad and perhaps something else plus champagne. Enjoy a pleasant day and stay warm.

I will track, exercise, hydrate, remain positive
I found a recipe for wraps using chard leaves and if the ones we have are still good will make some for lunch or dinner. We still have an abundance of produce...need to use up a few more leftovers but soon may make something "new" later today.
Talked to our daughter in Missouri and she said it was cold outside and not really warm inside, either. Also said that the gas lines and water lines in various places had ruptured so many were conserving, flooded or could be in trouble. Hope to talk to our son and granddaughters tonight.
I attended the Oprah two hour event and though there were some glitches it went well and think it was on target for meeting the goals specified. I enjoyed Corden's portion best, I think, and he was last.
JUNE: How nice to have stir fry with jasmine rice prepared for you! How interesting for your niece to be working on educational initiatives for change! Hope you enjoy your chat with her. Good luck talking your husband into diet jello instead of pie
MJ: I wonder if Russ is dealing with brain-changes due to age OR alcohol...or has he always been as he is now? It was nice of you to send Russ a birthday gift and also nice of the caretaker to send you a photo and let you know he was happy to receive it.
ANN: My daughter said they were warned that being out for 30 minutes could cause frostbite. She tried to go out to see the sunshine but quickly headed back inside again due to the cold!
BEE: I have a pressure cooker that I cook dry beans, artichokes and chicken in BUT have never tried anything else. Interesting your friend is using her instapot all the time!
LADONNA: It sounds like you had a productive shopping day and delicious lunch. I have all kinds of bowls but we use the flatter ones like you bought most often. They are great for soup, salad, pasta and just about anything at all!
SUSI: Too funny about the amaretto creamer in the potato soup...maybe more like a dessert soup? Glad you were able to find the items you were looking for in the shops and managed to get in two walks with Lily before bad weather arrived.
BECKY: I wonder if a slow cooker would be a good investment for the future since you are going electric...that or a multi-purpose counter oven that has convection, air and toaster abilities? It sounds like you are managing b ut do hope you don't lose electricity!
AUDREY: Huh to the comment on Breaking Bad...that series sucked me in and didn't spit me out till the last episode! There are SO many variations on baklava...the shops here make it impossible to choose just one or two! They also have other "ushta" based desserts that are to-die-for! Glad you enjoyed your meal out!

Good morning, June - Audrey - Ann - Cathy - Becky - Bee - LaDonna - Susi - Pam - and AWL! 💖💐💝A double start-up (June started a Sunday thread two hours earlier)! Here's hoping that means LOTS of love in our day!💝💐💖 Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine... Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and for those who need extra helpings of divine intervention at this time... and a few extra for all students whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid... and for those who mourn... and for peace in our nation. 💞🐵🙈🐵🙉🐵🙊🐵💞 Since we had another storm last night (this one with icy bits) our day will be spent at home. Well, except for a YM adult staff meeting at 1 PM - roads should be OK by then. We've got steak, salad, and baked potato on the menu, and NASCAR Cup series (Daytona 500 - the start of the season!) on our TV viewing schedule. cathygeha , I think there's a lot of both in Russ' current mental state. It's hard to separate the effects of alcohol abuse from aging deterioration since he deliberately kept himself apart from family for decades, except for an occasional family gathering that he felt obligated to attend. There were some e-mails and a charge on the credit card yesterday that raise our hackles - on the surface they look almost like he's "been thinking" but are probably more manic than lucid. Coffee... ☕️☕️☕️... peace and quiet... morning prayer... 💖💐💝💐💖💐💝💐💖💐💝💐💖💐💝 Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! 💖💐💝💐💖💐💝💐💖💐💝💐💖💐💝
Last night's medUPDATE on Jeanne & Neal:
"Brian (DSonIL) talked to Jeanne (his mom). She seemed stronger. Numbers are moving slowly in the right direction. But now that she didn't go home yet [she] may stay the whole 5 days to get full dose of Remdesivir. And Neal's eye is 85% he says."

Yesterday the great grands and I had dinner together. Grilled cheese on plain and on raisin bread, fried cheese and tater tots. The meal was their choice, except for the raisin bread grilled cheese --- that was mine. Interesting conversation. A good time was had by ALL.
Yesterday afternoon I went outside and soaked up some sunshine. Will do that again today if we get any.
Hope ALL have a great day!

Good morning all. Another good sleeping night. Still aiming to get to bed before midnight. Didn't quite make it MJ sorry for you ice storm. Wise to stay put until it melts some. Enjoy Valentine Day meal and NASCAR Cathy, great goals for today. Yes always best to stay put when it's bitter cold to avoid frostbite. Glad you enjoyed Oprah.
Bee your meal sounds great and happy you got to soak up that vitamin D
Wishing all a love filled Valentine's Day

Good morning
Happy V Day's! Hope that everyone stays safe and warm as these weather systems push across the country.
Audrey Sounds like you had an abundance of flowers. 🌺 LOL. . .no compromise necessary. R is making the dessert for me as a VD and with the goal of using up some grocery items. Either dessert is okay, but he really likes the strawberry jell-o and the fruit dip. So he was glad I suggested it.
Becky Did you get the kind of electric skillet that you like? They are handy for whipping up a meal. I use to make roast beef in mine.
Mj We are having very similar VD meals. Yum! I cannot imagine the long, difficult path with Russ.
I hope GWags stays. From my understanding, it. Is best for patients to stay in the hospital while taking that antiviral drug. Keeping your extended family members inmy prayers.
Cathy That chard might make an interesting wrap. But I would but tempted to use it to cover a plate so I could "see" the colors. Am glad that you enjoyed the WW event. This storm system is unleashing all sorts of havoc. I hope that your DD can dodge the worst of it. Loss of electrical power, water, and or heat would be serious.

Ann LOL. . . As long as you are okay, then a later bedtime is what I would call " living on Ann time." A pasta dinner will be divine. And you know how to deal with the that temporary blip onthe screen. Enjoy!
Bee Your "share" just warms my heart. I am glad that your great grands came to visit. Girl, give me a toasted cheese sandwich anytime.

LOL June...yup I guess I shall just call it 'Ann Time' and go with it. Main thing is that I am refreshed. I'll take that Last time I checked it looks like the storm is going to pass us by. Then again won't get my hopes up just yet as that could change on a dime. Becky, didn't realize two threads going..... My over the top day is planned and tracked. When it warms up, I'll walk. Will CBL

Will be heading to church shortly. Got a porkchop casserole in the oven and italian green beans cooked. I never made the porkchops last night. I may bake a cake later. Its another wet and dreary day so we will be at home for the afternoon/evening. Happy Valentines day to all of my sweet friends! Audrey, lots of flowers will surely add some brightness to the day..enjoy your lobster and champagne. Ann, hope it warms enough for you to take an outdoor walk. I may fit a house walk in later. Nice that you slept well, I did too Cathy, very nice to have the abundance of produce on hand. You always turn it into the most wonderful sounding dishes! MJ, glad to hear things are looking up for the sick ones...an answer to prayers! enjoy your steak meal and nascar. Bee, how special to have had that time with the great grands. I've never had grilled cheese on raisin bread. I had one on whole wheat for breakfast this morning June, enjoy your special dessert from R. I like to also use up what I have on hand instead of buying more. I hope everyone will be safe and warm in the storms. Becky, did the event for your pianist get postponed due to the inclement weather? BBL...

Cathy, we’ve always grown chard and I wonder if the leaves will break when you wrap them.

Lots of beautiful flowers Audrey are always welcome no matter who sends them. Enjoy that lobster. I used to embarrass my first ex because I eat the entire lobster and people would stare if we were out. Even worse if I was having blue claw crabs. Ann - Enjoy the pasta with all the trimmings. Cathy - Glad you have lots of produce. Glad you could talk to your daughter and hope you talk to the others today. MJ - Fortunately, the roads are clear and the ice on the stoop and driveway is melting. Enjoy your steak dinner. Glad the inlaws are recovering Bee - So glad you had a good time with the great grands. Hope you get your sunshine June - Enjoy your desert Becky - Enjoy your day LaDonna - Enjoy church and your pork chop casserole The deck is an icy mess so Lily and I were extra careful going out but the roads were okay. I had to knock some ice out of the feral food bowls. I'm glad I warmed their food before I went. One of the morning crew who is usually out running was walking today due to the weather so she walked with Lily and me for an hour. Spin is done. We are leaving for Cheryl's at 2. I'm might try to sneak in a short nap first. Dinner will be beef stew, salad and garlic bread.
