I am at 171 this morning...now low...will keep doing what is working
We were going to go to the bank today or tomorrow BUT will go tomorrow. Hopefully we can figure out how to get the permission to drive then go to the bank, deposit the check in the fresh account, monthly prescriptions, pick up frontline, coffee beans and credit for the phone. It should be a good day.
Weather is overcast today...no idea what it will be like tomorrow or what I will wear. Might have to try things on tonight to figure that out
MJ: I hope the double love of double starts to the post for the day provide good things for all of us! Hope Neal and his mom are on the mend.
BEE: How marvelous to spend time with your great grandchildren. I read raisin bread and thought butter cinnamon and sugar OR cream cheese - never have had it in grilled cheese.
JUNE: Even if I used the chard as a plate...would probably wrap it around the veg, grain and beans to eat it I made soup instead...potato-lentil-chard seasoned with garlic and lemon juice. Sounds like you had a productive musical cleaning day!
LADONNA: It will be nice to walk in from church with the lunch ready...do you leave it in the oven while you go to church...the pork chop casserole or cook and reheat or??? Too bad there isn't someone to donate the leftover cake to.
AUDREY: I haven't tried the wrap yet with chard. I did see them used as enchilada wrappers and as wraps and know that people do "stuff" and cook them here. They also use them in place of spinach to make ftayir/spinach turnovers. The time difference makes it easier for me to wait till all have posted then go through and respond to everyone.
SUSI: I can't image ferals surviving in the icy weather but guess they do. I have heard some people create shelters for feral cats in really cold cities. Interesting you and Lily had a walking partner. If you needed a nap I hope you were able to get one! I think the only time I have seen garlic bread is with Italian food...bet it was good with the stew.
ANN: Wise to stay inside rather than walk outside if it is cold. What a lovely and thoughtful Valentine present!
BECKY: I hope there is no interruption of the gas/diesel/whatever. Our daughter said some lines in Oklahoma(?) burst and some water lines in the area burst flooding businesses and buildings. Your weather and the water situation sound miserable. I am glad neighbors have checked in with you and offered to help.

Good morning, Ann - Audrey - Becky - Bee - Cathy - June - LaDonna - Susi - Pam - and AWL!
Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...
Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and for those who need extra helpings of divine intervention at this time... and a few extra for all students whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid... and for those who mourn... and for peace in our nation.
ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅π
Roads were fine by the time I went to my YM staff meeting at 1 PM yesterday. There was a little bit of melting going on, but the icicles are still pretty fantastic. The whole weather thing in NJ is pretty fantastic... but not in a particularly good way.
The Daytona 500 had numerous and lengthy delays due to accidents and weather, and a 2:30 PM green flag didn't "go checkered" until after midnight (which meant we were still awake WAY after midnight). So I know that Toots will have a tough time getting up (soon). Me? I got up at my usual 5:30-ish. We will both undoubtedly want naps.
I have a regularπcheckup L-mammo at 8 AM. Toots is going to come with me and wait in the car, and afterward we will stop at our favorite local bagel shop for something we'll parlay into brunch/lunch. For some reason we ended up with pizza last night (it just felt right!) so our Sunday Steak Dinner moves to tonight. That's OK - even though it's Presidents' Day I'm going to leave my hearts and flowers below for another day and keep the loving Valentine wishes going.
Coffee... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... so glad mammos don't preclude coffee...
πππππππππππππππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! πππππππππππππππ

Good morning friends. Slept well and so ready to hit that button LaDonna we will do this and git R done! After coffee I shall sit and plan my meals. Only one that really changes is supper so it won't be difficult. The difficult part is following the 'written word' LOL. Cathy congratulations on your 'new low' Good luck at the bank tomorrow and I hope the transaction goes smoothly for you. MJ good luck with your mammo appointment. Enjoy you eating out with Toots at your favorite spot. So far we don't have 'weather' but our area is under the wintry mix watch! Waving and shall CBL

Just a quick check in. It is currently 8 degrees and I have no idea what real feel is. We have had rolling blackouts since 3:00. They are only only supposed to last 20 minutes at a time but it seems like the times with power are getting shorter. I am sitting here drinking coffee in my sweats and jacket under 2 blankets because it is 47 degrees inside. We donβt have enough water to last the day but will ask neighbors if we can get some water from them. We will have sun sometime today but still under freezing all day.
I still feel fortunate to have a house to live in and am not living on the streets.

Ann, I am resetting with you!
LaDonna, hope you have an easy, good day at work.
Cathy, hope it works for y'all. A Cajun lady at the Bible Study I go to, brought the raisin bread grilled cheese one day, and I fell in love. Only 2 of the kids would even try it. The others didn't like raisins in their bread. Go figure. LOL
MJ, now I am gonna want a bagel. LOL Not sure if we still have a bagel shop in Houma anymore. ot to get out more.
Becky, I am praying y'all warm up soon. I also hope that those temps don't try to visit me.
We are at 36ΒΊ and feels like 36ΒΊ. Currently raining pretty hard. BUT if THEY get it right, the ice storm will stay above me.
Hope ALL stay safe and warm. We are only getting the tailend of the winter storm, and that is too much for us.

Good morning all. Yes, sometimes there are so many messages that I can't respond to all. But we care about each other and that is what matters, not what we get to say on a given day. Ann - Love the reset button. Glad you slept well. Stay warm LaDonna - Glad you can also press the reset button. Shame you have to work today. Cathy - Congrats on the new low. Hope you can get to the bank and get it all straightened out. The ferals have a house with both straw and a warm blanket but they rarely use it. There is so much decomposition in the marsh that the ground level remains relatively warm enough. Plus so many of the houses in the area have porches and decks that the cats can find a place to stay dry and warm. MJ - Good luck with your mammo. I have my check up next Monday and will book my mammo when I have my script. That's a LONG race. Sometimes pizza happens so enjoy your bagel and steak dinner today. Becky - Wish I could send you some of my heat or at least some of my extra blankets. I'm watching the news and seeing the record lows. I hope you can water from your neighbors. Bee - Stay warm. As far as I am concerned any cheese and any bread is a good match. :-) We had a lovely dinner with Cheryl and Lisa who is both her aide and friend. I watched the remake of The Parent Trap from 1998 which was light and sweet. Today will be a lazy day. It's icky and rain is predicted. Fortunately it will be too warm for the ice storms that will be north and west of us. Lily and I got in 2 miles and will hopefully be able to get back out this afternoon. Just finished avocado toast and am making beef back ribs for dinner. Lunch TBD.

Back again. Well, as expected I am up 1.5 and no regrets whatsoever. I totally enjoyed my pasta and chocolates and wine Today I'm back at it. Carl said it's very cold out there. I did look at the temperature but for some reason it slipped my mind. Perhaps that's a good thing LOL. I shall happily remain indoors today. Susi so happy that you enjoyed a nice day yesterday. Great job on getting in that 2 mile walk. I remember the Parent Trap back in the day. Cute movie. Your meals sound well balanced and good. Bee I agree with Susi any bread and any cheese would work for me as well. I once had a friend that would grille a Swiss cheese sandwich on dark rye with grape jelly and loved it. Praying that you don't get the ice storm. Hopefully the temps will continue to rise so it won't happen. My favorite bagels have always been pumpernickel. Just love them. Becky I do hope that you can get water from your neighbor. So sorry with all you are dealing with. You have a GREAT attitude to be thankful for a roof over your head. I am all planned and tracked

Work is fairly quiet due to most people being off today. That's ok - getting a lot done. I did not eat breakfast but had some mexican for lunch. Chicken soft taco and a side of beans with 2 pts worth of chips. Not too terribly bad I guess. Now if I can just keep the momentum going thru the dinner meal and get in a little activity I'll be off to a good start.
Cathy, congrats lady! I cooked the pork chop casserole Sun. morning and turned the oven off when we left to go to church and just left the casserole in the oven. It was still good and warm when we got home. The green beans were warmed up. The cake was not that great so not really a loss.
MJ, LOL to pizza just feeling right - GL with your ck up.
Ann, I was so ready to reset too - those off plan days make me feel sluggish. Yes, I agree to following the written word is what's so important. You'll have the 1.5 taken care of soon enough I am sure. Stay warm!
Becky, I so hope you were able to get some water. Oh wow that is cold for indoor temps...hope your electric stays on longer today! Prayers.
Bee, our temps and rain have been similar. I hoope they are right and the ice and storm stay away from you.
Susi, I have watched that movie so many times with Laken and just love it. The remake was popular when she was a young girl and it was one of her favorites. Great job on the walks with Lily.
Waving to June, Audrey and Pam and wishing you a great day!

The sun is making an effort to show up!
We are always the tail end of the weather comma crossing our area --- usually I gripe because we need rain --- this time I was thankful --- I need no snow or ice.

I did go for a hood walk. As we were coming home it started to sleet. That stopped and every once in awhile it will snow but it's not accumulating which is good.
LaDonna it's hard to reel it back in. Your lunch sounded fantastic.
Bee yes you definitely don't need snow or ice!
Also waving and wishing all a happy President's Day. Silly me forgot about it and wondered why there was no mail delivery lol.

Good afternoon
I have no idea where the morning went, but it is gone.
I apologize for messing up the thread yesterday. I am dyslexic, and messages that deal with numbers even dates scramble in my head. You all may have noticed that I post the wrong date or day in the subject line. My brain just scrambles things. So ifsome piece of informationgoes in wrong, it creates a problem that cascades. Grief makes it worst. I just overpaidthe our gas bill by $500! Ugh! Audrey let me know that she was starting the thread on Sunday. I wrote a note to myself. It was note helpful because I wrote onSunday, Audrey is starting the thread. She did her best to avoid the double post. I am sorry.
Ann Thx for the start. Glad you enjoyed the V Day special treats.
Audrey Hope that your day is going smoothly. Are you helping Leo today?
Becky Please stay as warm and safe as you can. Thank you for letting us know that you have good neighbors who are ready to help.
Bee Stay safe. Even where we are use to snowfall & cold tempts., ice or that sleet are worrisome. I asked R to cancel his service appt. today, because our roads were supposed to be treacherous. So far. . . We just have a light dusting. Oh well' the road condition can change. And since COVID hit drivers in our area have a greater disregard for stop signs, seed lights, speed limits, and assured clearance. It wasn't worth being on call to pick up his truck. Plus the car lot is not locked, so it could not be left there overnight.
Cathy YIppeee on holding that 171! I envisioned cutting down into the spread on top of chard and eating it in bites. Do not ask me why.
LaDonna That sounded like a very manageable amount of chips. Here's to momentum and where it can take us.
Mj That was some race last night. Did you two need a nap?
Susie Am I remembering this wrong? Didn't one of the feral caretakers try a shelter last year? But didn't the wild ones want no part of it? Yes, the most important thing to me is the circle of friends. So I apologize for causing confusion. My brain is how it is and I do my best. It has not helped that I started to sort my mom's things and Blackboard Ultra I snot only new to me, the darnthings is glitchy as all get out. On both Sat. & Sun. My intitutiontold me Tito check my university inbox. Yep-- two big headaches not of my making but left for me to sort. Oh well, that is why they make Earl Grey and/to ZipFizz! (There are times when I sure wish I liked alcohol).

Bee, at least the sun is making an effort. are you having a little more energy since getting settled at home?
Ann, great job getting that walk in - lunch was good and filling.
June, will you get a refund or will a credit do for the extra money pd on the gas bill? Great idea to have R postpone his service appt. Much better safe than sorry! Laken got her car serviced last week and 4 new tires that she desperately needed. Hers were thread bare. Hope you can get the kinks worked out of the campus web.
