Good morning friends and hope all slept well. I surely did and waking up refreshed was the icing on the cake
Today I shall hit the reset button and carry on. Our area is still under the wintry mix advisory so there's that!
After coffee I shall plan and track my day. Off now to complete my online 'duties'
I shall CBL

As expected yesterday's pasta feast and chocolates added 1.5|! I'm still at the low end of my happy zone so it's okay. It's just a shock to think that just ONE MEAL can add that much weight......oh well, it is what it is.
So far no 'weather' but Carl said it's very cold out there and we have overcast skies. I'll happily sit this day out in the comfort of my warm home. Praying that nobody loses power!
Laundry is washing away and time for my coffee.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! and Happy President's Day! We, of course, have no school but we do have an impending snow storm. The temp this morning was 8 dg with a RF of -5. We have 8-10" of snow expected overnight. I had thought I'd go out shopping before it started, but with the bitter cold, I am not sure now. My plan was to go to Meijer and fill my gas tank, then go to Costco for coffee and whatever else caught my eye. But now I am questioning the wisdom of that?? We'll see .... But I do need gas and I am running low on coffee, so I'll have to go somewhere. Much as I prefer to buy my coffee at Costco, I am reminded that Meijer also sells it.
We had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner with a cup of homemade butternut squash soup, then grilled NY strip steaks and DH's 'famous' salad. I swear he makes the best one around! Just one more thing that got perfected around here due to the pandemic. We ate early, so we enjoyed a shared DQ Blizzard (how appropriate?) in the evening while watching "60 Minutes" and "American Idol".
Our Kroger did not have any blackberries yesterday, so I had to change up my breakfast. Instead with my FF Greek yogurt, I had sliced up strawberries, topped with F1. I did miss my blackberries, but you can't eat what you don't have. Maybe later in the week they will have some??
Ann ~ Glad to hear that you slept well and woke refreshed. My indulgences over the weekend added a bit to my WI this morning too, but I am sure it is temporary (at least I will make sure it is). I did enjoy the little extras over the weekend and that's a good thing.
Judy ~ Hope all is well with you.
Pam ~ You already got your cold and freezing. Good idea to nix the walk when it's below freezing. Hope everything holds at the Camp. You have had more than enough bad news on that front recently.
I need to get dressed and decide what I'm going to do about coffee and gas for my car. It's looking like another good reading day around here. I am planning to put a turkey breast in the oven for supper.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue lol to your reminder on who sells coffee. I vote for the closest place.
Clothes are drying and I'm thinking of another cup of coffee. Tasting extra good this morning.
Stay warm and safe all.

Hi all,
No snow yet around here! We are supposed to have an ice storm tonight at 7 PM - ugh. Snow is okay, ice is just treacherous. But, we aren't going anywhere. Even though it's a holiday here, I am working. DH is not so he is underfoot. LOL He kids me about my nice working from home situation. It is so nice.
Sue, hope you don't get buried in snow and if you do go out, be careful. You do seem like a seasoned snow driver though. I'll never get used to it. Fair weather driver here.
Ann, glad you had a fun Valentine's dinner. We decided to order in and couldn't decide what we wanted. I am tired of Italian and too much pasta though I love it and wasn't hankering for seafood. I really wanted Indian, but most of the places we like were closed so we wound up getting Thai from a new place which was just so-so. My favorite Thai place was slammed with orders so we went with the new one. We asked for level 2 of 6 on the spicy but it was nearly so hot we couldn't eat it and we like spicy. I cannot imagine even level 3 or 4! Oh well, we both loved our appetizers - coconut shrimp, summer rolls and crab rangoons. we were well fed. lol
My weight has been nutty lately - overnight up 3 lbs and then later in the day the same but down 3 the next day. I need to get that needle going continuously down for the most part.
Sue, the steaks and salad and soup sounded great for Valentine's Day. Good celebration. What happened with the results of DH's tests?
TTFN...

Finally made a decision .... and now I'm all done and back home. I went out only to discover that none of the roads had been plowed (because of the "holiday"??). I went to Meijer and filled my gas tank, then decided I didn't want to drive all the way to Costco on slippery snow-covered roads. I went in Meijer and pulled out the list (stored in my phone) and got the few things on it, plus blackberries! I had offered DH that I'd pick up extra strawberries to slice up for Strawberry Waffles one night, but wouldn't you know it? They didn't have any strawberries!! Nonetheless, I now have plenty of coffee and gas in my car. Done!!
It is not yet even lunchtime, and I have done all that I had planned for today. I will slip a turkey breast in the oven to roast this afternoon and make a comfort food supper. It should be perfect with the snow falling outside the window.

Hi Judy ~
We were posting at the same time. You guessed right, I have been driving on/in snow since I learned how to drive (many many years ago). Also I drive a car with All-Wheel Drive which has great traction (and just laughs at the snow).
As far as the results of DH's test, I was told the Dr. would discuss it with us at his next visit (2 weeks). That sounds like a pitiful way to do things, and I am not at all happy about it. DH had to spend an entire afternoon trying to get an appointment ..... hearing "your wait time is 5 minutes" every 3 minutes time after time after time. Believe me, the next time he mentions doing a test I will be bringing this debaucle up time and time again. I s'pose to the Dr. it is good enough that he knows. They did post 'results' on his patient portal, but I have no idea what any of the numbers mean?? Thanks for asking though.
Now I need to put away the rest of my groceries and then sit for a while.

Sue, I'd at least take it as a good sign that the doctor will wait a few weeks until your DH's appointment, but he should know it's causing you stress not having answers. Ugh.
Guess what? We were out of strawberries here, too, last week. Then when I went on Friday, they were back. Odd...to run out of them. I told DH that "Michigan is out of strawberries" His reply "We'd better stock up!" ha ha Strawberries are not like toilet paper and we can't fill a room with them. :-)
I also have all wheel drive plus we have four wheel drive on the other vehicle, but I am still a chicken. I stay home in snow. First flake and I'm home. That is my big source of anxiety and often panic. Driving in snow.
Have a warm afternoon! DDIL announced her pregnancy yesterday with cute photos. I'll try to remember to send them in an email. We are planning a trip to NJ March 4-10 to visit and help out with our 20 month old grandson. :-)

Judy it's starting to sleet here...I felt it hitting my furry head while walking back home LOL. I don't wear a hat, just a band over my ears and forehead. I have enough hair to weather any storm LOL. Miss LuLa performed well and for that we are most grateful. We spend a LOT of time on her butt....nuff said! Sorry your take out wasn't up to snuff. I also don't get how some places really load up on the hotness. I like spicy along with the best of them...but too much just ruins it as you can't taste a thing. Makes ya wonder what they are trying to hide LOL....Just color me paranoid Nice that you'll be going to visit DDIL in March to help out. I bet she'll so appreciate that and seeing y'all. Weight is a strange thing. When I think I'm going to gain I don't and when I think I'm going to lose it's like .2 I give up. So long as I'm in my happy zone that's all that matters. I've been a daily weight person for so long that at this stage of the game it's simply a number. Sue so sorry that your roads aren't plowed and that you didn't score strawberries. I rarely buy fresh as I prefer the frozen berries. I find that I don't eat them quickly enough and end up tossing them. Although the 'no news is good news and will discuss the results when DH gets here' is good.....I still feel that it's a doctor's obligation to make a phone call with results. I told my physicians to NOT update on my chart...I said let's pretend that I do NOT have a computer and so far, so good. Every once in awhile I get an email that there is a message waiting in my chart and I simply delete it. I have no clue what any of those numbers mean and refuse to google it to find out. Way I see it is I'm the patient not the PCP LOL..... So I guess you can conclude that I am NOT a fan of 'patient portals' I did 2 loads of laundry, checked out all my stuff on the desktop and now going to make either tea or Swiss Miss and wait for more 'weather' to hit. Kind of like a Stephen King movie LOL...only in slo mo. Waving and will CBL

Ann ~ Count me among those who will NEVER EVER be a fan of Patient Portals either! If I wanted a copy of the lab results, I'd request it. A CBC I can read - but the report of DH's TEE is all Greek to me! You're right, I am the patient, not the doctor! Fortunately I have known DH's cardiologist for many years (longer than I've known my DH in fact) and know he is the best in the business, but this time he has annoyed me. I will find a mannerly and diplomatic way to let him know that. I'm sure he has no idea that no one called me, as he usually has his Fellows take care of talking to the families, and this is the only time I haven't been sitting in the waiting room waiting expectantly.
I have chosen not to stayed annoyed about it. Years ago my DH told me when he had a job that didn't get finished to his satisfaction that instead of fretting about it after he got home, he built an imaginary shelf in the garage and parked it there on his way in the house. That way he could pick it back up on his way out the next morning. We have talked about that many times over the years. The other evening when I was grousing about the doctor he sweetly said "there's a shelf in the garage for things like that, feel free to use it". We both cracked up!! But I have been able to set it aside, and not let it ruin our time together.
That's my story for today and now that I have supper started, I can go read for a while.

Sue, I love the shelf in the garage idea, too. Now only if I could learn how to implement it! :-) I also find that if something is really bothering me, I'll write it down in my daily agenda/notebook and that helps me put it out of my mind without forgetting to take action on it. I think the more we can compartmentalize our daily burdens and troubles, the better off we will be. Sometimes all we need is a little time to cool off and to try to put it into perspective. My mom was a fan of saying "next year at this time, how much will it matter?"
