GOOD MORNING!! Love light blessings and good health. Monday 2.15.2021.
Quick check in. I want to get to work -- so far have internet but not counting on it lasting due to temperatures that Texas is not designed to handle. Everything blanketed with snow. Not going anywhere. I am very glad I made it to the gym yesterday and had a longer than usual workout there. 7 degrees, less with windchill. I have lived in Texas since 79, never seen it so bad for so long before.
Yes I did: biceps, abs, cardio at the gym. Load of wash. Make lentil soup. A little tree trimming. Stay OP. Yes I can: work, home gym.
Does anybody know the best cereal to feed birds? I have been giving them granola because high in fat and sugar and I assume they need the calories.
Okay, now to get dressed and start piling on the clothing. Might wear my very warm robe over clothing. Heat down to 66 but still running, running, running. love light blessings and good health, janet

Happy Monday Evening.
Janet: So sorry for your frigid snowy temps. I think raw oats, raw nuts, dried fruits, or cereals will feed the wildlife. You can coat cardborard tissue rolls with nut butter, then roll in crushed nuts and cereals or oats, and hang from trees. Your soup sounds yummy on a cold afternoon. Hope your power stays on!
I did some heavy duty yard work yesterday, mowed the lawn, and put our flag today out to honor the Presidents who have contributed so much...not 45. Grrrr! Finally finished my office space, just need to hang a few photos etc. on the walls. Did I share that my Brother who passed ten years ago was a photographer? His girlfriend was a painter, my dear walking buddy is a painter and also works in clay, so I have lots of great art etc. to hang on the walls. I am walking tomorrow and continue to cook, clean, plant and de-clutter. I know the Chinese say it's the year of the Ox, but for us it is the year of the house. Lovely to have so much of the painting done. But you know how it is with old houses (Carol) always something to update and fix. Still, I am grateful to have it in these hard times.
Sweet Dreams tonight!

Good Morning!!! Love light blessings love light blessings
Jan - Thanks for wildlife pointers. I have plenty of cereal but no nut butter. Not getting out. Still have power and internet but water pressure really low. It is so wonderful that you are able to honor your brother in your office.
Sally - hooray for rerouting the sugar trail.
Yes I did: put in a productive day, put cheerios and oatmeal out (not sure if they touched it), and manage a home workout circuit in the den. May have turned heat down too low, water pressure sluggish. Have turned up heat a couple of degrees. Yes I can: another home workout, law. Maybe walk to the mailbox this afternoon after it hits 25 degrees(if it does). Three degrees now. I don't even want to think about what all this crazy weather has done to the house. Can't think about it, just get dressed and get going. Pretend to be a grown up. Both gyms closed but would not venture out even if open. Tomorrow might be better. This afternoon might even be a little better.

Good Tuesday Morning, 🐣🐣!
Janet - I just saw the weather models on national news. Hope you are staying safe and warm. We were set to get a foot of snow overnight, but so far just 5 inches.
Back later, after coffee... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ late afternoon.
Jan - yay for artistic friends, bringing beauty to us! And thanks for tip on Voltarin, I'll look for it.
Sally - you must be so excited about your visit...be sure to send photos, if you can! Be safe and well, all the way!
Janet - it still mystifies me that it's warmer here (24º) than down in TX. Agree, cheerios and oatmeal are pretty healthy supplements for birdies. They can be pretty resourceful about finding food, and at least they have downy feathers to keep them somewhat warm. I do worry about our wildlife friends though, with all the crazy weather, fires, etc. on top of losing habitat. I don't know who was talking about pipes freezing...I think it helps if you can let a trickle of water run in your cold water faucet, it may help.
Roads today are too slushy to interest me in walking, some freezing mist was spritzing me while I was out shoveling. My car is now freed from it's blanket of snow and the stuff the plow left behind. No strength training needed, today: I have my functional fitness, LOL!
Yes I did: --Taichi and Circuit class yesterday --rush over to Old House late yesterday afternoon so I could leave food and money for lawn guy & return home before the snowstorm arrived. We lucked out here, apparently a warm air mass in the upper atmosphere overnight turned some of our snow to rain at the end, so we got less than feared. Folks to the west of here got a lot of snow, folks to the east of here got some slick roads. --FitSteps ballroom-ish dance today
Yes I can: --work on taxes --make something special for Mardi Gras...not sure what yet --stay positive!
Be well! Carol

Happy Tuesday.
Walked this morning with my pal. Wore my sweatshirt hoodie most of the time which is unusual. Made for comfortable walking though. I started using Voltarin on my knee this week and so far so good, You have to put it on 4 x per day which is annoying but if it works I'll be a happy camper. I do feel some relief of the pain already. It's a new rub-in NSAID.
Janet: I have put stale Cheerios out for the critters. Helps to crush them up a bit. I never thought about frozen pipes! Yikes. Saw more photos this morning of Dallas from Cowboy Cousin. Looks very pretty and pristine. Hang in there.
Sally: Been on a real sugar binge myself. Hard to get off that stuff.
Hi Carol and Nat.

Good Morning!! Love light blessings love light blessings
Ash Wednesday.
Carol hope you enjoyed Mardi Gras under a stack of blankets.
Jan not doing too much walking here, so please do it and tell me all about it so I can enjoy through you.
Nat please send more warm weather and faster. Miserable here in Texas.
Yes I did: get a lot of law done before lost power. Power and water on and off. Right now have power, heat, hot water, cold water, coffee, and internet. God is good. I haven't ventured outside at all since Monday afternoon but I might this afternoon. At 30 degrees it is much warmer believe it or not. Texas/Texans are not exactly cut out for this. Neither is my house. Cannot think about what might need doing when all this done . . . I have been managing just over an hour in home gym. Hope I can today also. Going to dig into work while I have power. Will do something in home gym during one of our rolling blackouts, also will read the gospels by a fancy rechargeable light in bed then. (not gonna make it to Ash Wednesday Mass which has been cancelled anyway) Probably will save internet time for work as power so unpredictable. Okay must get dressed while still have power. Much gratitude others have had it way worse. God is good. God will understand about Ash Wednesday. Love light blessings warmth and good health, janet

Good Wednesday Afternoon, positive 🐥🐥!
Janet - Good for you, managing work and workouts through the outages! Hang in there, kiddo! I hear you'll have temps in the 60s within a few days. And the Mardi Gras dinner was cajun shrimp & bowtie pasta with lots of veggies. Yummy.
Nat - yay for having some quiet, uneventful days! Enjoy your comfortable walks.
Smiles and hugs to Jan and Sally!
Yes I did: --chiropractor visit...always a good thing to get straightened out, LOL. Thankful I didn't need to do much more snow and ice scraping this morning, just a dusting of snow, to get to my appointment. --Taichi and Circuit zoom classes today --have nice bird feeder visits from the Northern Flicker & Red-bellied Woodpecker (they've been by around noon a couple days in a row)
Yes I can: --make some progress on my tax forms...takes awhile to get into it --maybe get outside for a few minutes to enjoy brilliant sunshine before the next snow (due tomorrow afternoon)
Be well! Carol --

Happy Wednesday Evening.
Janet: So sorry for your power outages. Good for you working around all challenges!
Carol: Love your wildlife sightings. I had a beautiful Spotted Towhee at my feeder again, along with Earl and his GF and a lonesome Dove. They usually travel in pairs. Your Fat Tuesday shrimp sounds good! Bless your heart taking care of Old House and lawn guy in the midst of snowfall.
Nat: I think of you every time I check Facebook Big Bear Eagles. Beautiful vistas. Wonder if they will hatch 3 babies?
Hi Sally! Yes, share a photo of Nora when you visit!
Did a morning grocery shop this morning, always stressful but very empty store today. I picked the last of the tangerines today, bags for the neighbors and Mail Carrier and his family who loves them. I am struggling with a bit of low energy today, so took it easy, and made sure my Oxygen stats. were good. Yes they are! San Diego is doing pretty good Covid-wise so maybe things will be opening up more. I need a haircut badly. It's really long and I can't do anything with it except pull it back or pin it up. But in the scheme of things it is a very small item. Will wait till it's safe here.
Sweet Dreams my friends.

Good Morning! love, light, blessings.
Just a quick check in. Have had power since about 11 last night so am due for another black out. Food really weird but OP. Really need groceries but even if could get out not sure stores have food. I will be okay but almost out of fruit, ran out of almond milk yesterday.
Got in a circuit yesterday during the power outage. Not worrying about what body part I am working -- just worrying about getting in at least an hour. I thought today would be better but not looking good. Beginning to worry about car. Have not driven it since Sunday. It is new and in a garage but sure is cold. Might just run it on the driveway this afternoon - if I have power to get in and out of the garage. Hoping tomorrow better. I have lived in Texas since 1979 and in fact was born here . . . never seen anything like this, nothing even close. Love light blessings and gratitude for power/water, janet

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health. Friday. Friday already!
Yes I did: walk to mailbox although of course no mail, mail deliveries impossible. Circuit in home gym. Run car for 15 minutes to charge it although couldn't get out of driveway. Birds did not eat their oatmeal. Bad birdies. But they are singing for me this morning anyway. They seem to prefer cheerios and granola, as do I. MF took me to the supermarket late yesterday afternoon and gave me a little bottled water. (boil notice) There wasn't much there. Of course, no milk, no eggs. I got almost all the produce they had left which was almost none. Hoping enough to last me until Monday. God is good: I got in a hot bath last night. I have water and hot water. Heat, light, power, and internet. I had a couple of meltdowns yesterday so not as productive as I would like. I am hoping to get out this afternoon and get to one of my gyms for cardio but it not another home circuit. Maybe even a little walk if the streets melt. I need to drive my car. There is so much good in my life that I take for granted. What a wake up call this is. okay better get dressed and get to work. love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Hi Canners! Janet- thanks for all the updates on your power water status. I know we are all thinking about you! Carol: so much snow- you are a winter warrior Jan: glad you are ok- this whole year has been quite an emotional slog Hi Nat: how is the newish job?
Sick of the weather and focused on stressful tax process, critically ill cousin, and exceptionally terrible sleep. This is a "free day" without much fun- so feeling cranky. Yes I can: salad for lunch, more exercise, netflix series and feel grateful. Dusting off- Yes I can!Nora in 7 days....

Happy Friday Evening. Sally: Nora...a reminder of beautiful new beginnings! Yea. Thank you for sharing her with us. Janet: Climate Change. Ice and Snow. A reminder of how much we normally take for granted. Good for you accepting it all with gratitude. Thinking how lucky I am. Just worked in the garden most of the day, hung a load of laundry in the sun, and then kicked my feet up to read a few chapters in my new (borrowed) book. Healthy dinner, watched Netflix Broadchurch with my Sweetie. Every once in a while we find a program or movie that we both like. Saw a good movie called The Promise. Based on historical fact, but sad ending. Carol and Nat: Big waves! Sweet Dreams All, Jan
