Sleep well everyone.
Ann Hope that Carl's snow blower is not too busy tomorrow. Have a relaxing night.
Audrey How wonderful that your friend felt well enough to visit. You probably did mention it, but I lost track.

Becky I keep hearing the weather forecasters telling TX & OKL to hunker down. I hope & Kenneth that you can stay warm enough.

June, thanks for the start. Becky, just look toward the weekend when it should be warmer. There really isn't much you can do except try to limit any outdoor activities as best as you can. I know that is impossible for Kenneth. I plan on helping Leo this morning and the next three mornings as well. I have a Rock and Roll songwriters class from 3 till 4:30 and beef stew is on the menu for dinner. It has been in the freezer a while but looks fine. I plan to brown the meat and then cook it with the vegetables in the crock pot so all I will need to make later is the salads. Have a good day.

Audrey We do need to get to the grocery store at some point before lunch tomorrow because we are just about out of everything. Other than that I do plan to stay inside. If itβs too cold for Scooter to stay out while we are gone I will send Kenneth and I will stay home with her. I know there is nothing to be done about it but when it is in the 40βs inside itβs hard to do anything. When I got too cold I got up and exercised.

Good morning, June - Becky - Audrey - Bee - Ann - Cathy - LaDonna - Susi - Pam - and AWL! Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine... Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and for those who need extra helpings of divine intervention at this time... and a few extra for all students whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid... and for those who mourn... and for peace in our nation. And for all who are affected by Winter Storm Uri (and all its "companions")... ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅π It's Mardi Gras! "Laissez les bons temps rouler!" www.history.com/topics/holidays/mardi-gras - I'm going to find a way to party today. It's raining today, and the temps will be in the mid- to high-40*s. Crazy. Then tomorrow temps are predicted to drop substantially, then Thursday's forecast is for something to fall from the sky again. <meh>. How many days until Spring? Although I will still need to get an official report from my surgeon (and there's all kinds of up-in-the-air as to how THAT visit will or won't take place), the radiologist cut me loose from the imaging center after the two mammograms and without the ultrasound (just like last August - "not needed"). We don't eat AT the bagel store (their tables are closed) but we sure did enjoy our brunch when we got home. And our steaks turned out just right for dinner. Tonight's dinner will be chicken pot pies. Today? CinderElla/Fella tasks, including a bit of work outside. Maybe we can clear a path from the back steps to the front of the driveway (we didn't need it, so we didn't do it). There is one gutter that I want to check. And perhaps also some work on Russπ€ΉββοΈStuff since the last of his monthly bills hit Toots' Inbox this morning. Coffee... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... and a slow-and-easy start to the day... πππππππππππππππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all!πππππππππππππππ

Good morning all. Slept great just not long and woke up refreshed. Right now it's raining out but we are still under that 'wintry mix' for today. Audrey so nice that you got to go to lunch with Carolyn. Happy she is doing better than she was at Christmas. Beef stew sounds great for supper. LaDonna I didn't recognize you last night LOL June thanks for the start. So far no snow but that could change. Now 'they say' it'll happen later in the week. Gotta love those future weather reports Becky stay safe warm and dry. I know you will have no problem staying put...it's the men folk that I worry most about. Kenneth sounds a lot like Carl where he as to be 'out there'. Good idea to get up and move when you get too cold. Hope you find all you need grocery shopping. MJ your weather is a lot like ours. Also counting the days till spring. Today I shall continue to PTMH. Yesterday was a good day...up until our neighbor dropped off lemon squares...oh well, it happens. Waving and shall CBL...so far so good with the phone so hopefully it will remain this way.

I will keep tracking using ITB following the Blue plan on WW, hydrate, day off for exercise, etc.
We were up early, filled out the form to get a permit to go to the bank. After depositing the check we went to buy coffee beans, Frontline for Bella, went to the pharmacy to pick up this month's prescriptions, bought some dairy and wine, bought gas and then picked up a rotisserie chicken and headed home. It was different to be in real clothes and I even put lipstick on. After putting THAT on I thought, MASKS, wonder if mine now has a kiss mark on the inside? I took a photo to commemorate wearing clothes and makeup
WHILE out and about my husband wanted to buy green peas to plant. We stopped at one shop and he came back without seeds because he thinks they cheat and wanted to double check. We stopped another place or two and they didn't have any so he wanted to check the grocery stores and small shops. I told him I had NEVER seen dry green peas whole that could be planted sold in a grocery store. He was adamant HE would find some. Now, we had two hours to complete everything so stopping at a number of shops to prove that he was wrong and I was correct did not have him a believer. Ah well...he will probably have someone buy him seeds from the "cheater shop" as they may be the only shop that has any...if they still do. Everyone says it is late to plant peas but he also thinks HE can grow them because he will water them and they would rely on the rain. Whatever...
I quickly sauteed some onions then threw in chopped chard, added some lemon juice, salt and pepper and we had that with the rotisserie chicken. I would definitely do the chard again.
MJ: It is always time for hearts and flowers! Hope you managed to get a nap in!
BECKY: Rolling blackouts sound miserable in cold weather. I am glad power is not cut entirely! Did you get water? It sounds cold and do hope you have ways to stay warm if the house gets down to zero inside!
BEE: What kind of cheese do you put in the grilled cheese on raisin bread sandwich?
SUSI: I loved both Parent Trap movies...such feel good movies make days nicer. Your food ALWAYS sounds delicious...even though I am not a lover of fish. How many miles a day do you hope to get Lily and you walking in the future?
LADONNA: It must be nice to have a quieter day at work. Do you order the Mexican food or go out for it and is it from fast food or regular restaurant. One of my favorite ethnic foods is Mexican!
JUNE: (((HUGS))) Sorting through your mother's things must be bittersweet. I sometimes wonder if I was too ruthless with all the paper she saved and I tossed. You could also roll the chard and do slices like a pinwheel, maybe? I will have to buy MORE chard to try that recipe, though, since it is now all gone It might also be pretty layered though I wonder if it would need to be cooked if done that way and cut through...like a lasagna?
AUDREY: I could NOT do personals on this thread using a phone. I would pull my hair out, throw the phone or give up on the group. My hat is off to you! Perhaps just answer one post at a time if on the phone and work your way through? Or, just read and post from memory? We like to hear you are okay no matter what! I am sure Leo appreciates the help you give him with school. Your courses always sound interesting. Hope you enjoy the time with Carolyn.
Okay...hope you all stay warm, safe and happy!

Sending prayers for all those dealing with the storm system
Becky Am thinking of you & Kenneth. Stay as warm as you can. Hope that your grocery stores have what you need.
Mj Great news from your check-up. Love hearing that more testing was not needed. Fingers crossed that the surgeon's appt. will move forward. Loved the NewOrleans' porch decorations inleiu ofthe traditional parade. Hopefully the Russ stuff can e dealt wil quickly.
Ann Wintry mix is code for a -- it's going to be a tough go. LOL. . . I suspect that the universe wanted to show you some love w/ those lemon bars. I know that they freeze. I also know that I have ever done that. When zi made them for Mom, I shared them with others.

Cathy Ya gotta love your DH's persistence with the peas. AndI mean that sincerely (but not as a wife!). Wives see how it will all play out. Thanks for sharing. My dad planted peas for my Mom. She loved eating them. I am only doing a little of sorting of my Mom'sthings bit at a time. She was a bright light. I hold onto that.

KOKO again today. I got into some almonds last night so will try and do better today. This rain/cold and being stuck indoors is getting to me. Today is a new day and a sunny one hopefully. Looks like we may have two sunny days before heavy rains move back in. Becky, I was telling Randy about your situation he said tell them to come on over to SC we have an extra room! I know you would not leave the furkids so bring them too Hope things get better today and you get some supplies. Audrey, we are having beef stew tonight too. Randy put it n the crockpot this morning. Enjoy your R&R MJ, that sounds like a great report! hope you can get that visit in with your surgeon safely to make that final. Great pic of your and Toots. Ann, haha - I don't like posting on my phone and that's why...I replied to Audrey's post and then when I went to hit the post button I was not signed in. I love my little laptop that I sit on the couch with and surf the web and visit with yall. I have a desk top but usually only boot it up If I have church work to do or other work stuff and need the printer. Hope your wintry mix is not too bad. Cathy, LOL on dh and the green beans. Let us know how that works out. the little mexican restaurant is just down the street from work. we eat in or take out. the married couple that own it are from Mexico and still maintain their residence there. They visit often and post pics on FB. I believe they have Americanized their restaurant food because I have eaten at authentic restaurants and I don't like it. The food is WAY too spicy for me. Once my mouth is set on fire I cant taste anything going forward and that is not enjoyable to me. June, ((HUGS)) Your mom was indeed a bright light. She had the most beautiful smile. Take your time going thru her things.

Cathy happy you were able to get out and shop yesterday. So enjoyed DH's pea story. Happy the Blue plan is working well for you.
June I am so not fond of the 'wintry mix' I'd rather snow but that's just me. Ice on trees and wires just plain stinks. Our electricity flickered a few times and it's not that bad out there so go figure. I'm just happy that I don't have to deal with the great outdoors. I have a manicure scheduled for Thursday but will cancel if I feel the need.
June your mom surely WAS a bright light and is still shining within you. Sending warm hugs as you sift through all of those wonderful memories. (((hugs)))
LaDonna LOL yes I hear you on the desktop. I used to have a laptop but it just didn't 'do it' for me.
I am happy to announce that the scale dipped back down. I took off all my 'pasta meal' and then some. The scale truly is fickle.
Will try to get back online later....that is if we hold onto our power. Our neighbor told us that she heard the reason for the cell phones acting fluky yesterday was an accident near the tower and ice. Not sure who she heard that from as rumors tend to FLY in this retirement community LOL.
Wishing all a wonderful and OP day

Good morning all. Our low was 3 degrees and the sun is coming out so itβs up to 12 degrees and 47 inside. Still getting rolling blackouts. Itβs kind of bad that the TV doesnβt stay on long enough to see about weather.
Our high is predicted for 19 degrees and HβEβB doesnβt open until noon so hopefully more cars will be out before then. Making the best of things as we cannot do anything about this. Ice coming back tonight and will freeze on contact.
Have a great day friends. I plan to.
