I just canβt do personals on the phone. Sorry but I have read all posts.
Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. I know everyone wishes they could help.
Bee I donβt have any frozen soup and we only have so much room in the fridge so no way to prepare for a week of this. Also as soon as the power comes on I have to get in the kitchen fast to fix something.
The Lord has impeccable timing. The power stayed on just long enough to scramble eggs and eat breakfast before next power outage.
Freezing rain overnight and this morning is making roads impassable. More snow/ice expected tomorrow.
Scooter is so funny. When we eat she acts like she is starving but not hungry enough to eat her kibble.
Prayers for all of us.

June it's cold here as well...but nice and sunny. I'll take the sunshine and enjoy seeing it. Should it warm up, I may go out for some Vitamin D Enjoy that soak in the tub Bee praying that rehab goes well for you today.

Thanks for the start June. Ann - Stay safe, dry and warm. I'm so glad your neighbors are reaching out Becky. You know we would if we could. How nice Audrey to take the cake to your neighbor. Glad you are seeing more of Rachel and the girls these days. Cathy - Cats are pretty inventive. Hopefully she finds a safe warm place. Although my sister learned Middle Eastern cooking in Egypt and shared with us, there is a town in northern New Jersey that has a very heavy Lenanese population and lots of restaurants and markets so we predominantly get those products and dishes. Most foods are similar in the region. MJ - Ouch! Looks like you will be blessed with mostly snow tomorrow. We're still "on the line". Good plan for breaking up and paperwork. Good news about Jeanne. Bee - Good luck with rehab. Stay warm and dry! Gulf coast isn't used to this cold. Becky - Glad you were able to at least get a warm breakfast. I understand about posting on the phone. Save your battery for urgent stuff. I'm in, planned and tracked. WI was good. Today will be a sodium bomb with hot dogs with mustard and baked chips for dinner. Then prep for whatever this storm will bring.

Susi enjoy your hotdogs. I love them.
Still to cold for me to walk. Sunny but that wind is just too much.
I'll walk indoors today.

Lunch at my desk was a garden salad with a tuna packet - pretty tasty and I am full. Dinner will be hamburger steaks (venison) with peppers and onions and healthy sides. It was supposed to be sunny today but it is over cast windy and cold but not near as bad as what some of you are dealing with. Ash Weds serv. tonight at church. Day one of the Lent season.
June, good idea to get out while you can and get some water stocked up as well as some other things you might need. Be safe!
Ann, its so frustrating when people hold checks! I just recently had to ask a car repair guy to cash a check we gave to him - it always makes me think I have more money than I do LOL Indoor walks continue here, too.
Becky, I feel better knowing you had a good breakfast! I hope today brings you more options, warmth and electricity.
Audrey, Happy 88th to Peggy!
Cathy, your weather sounds bad...hope all is well.
MJ, you have been very productive!
Bee, hope rehab goes well for you.
Susi, enjoy your hotdogs - my family loves them and we have some venison dogs made occasionally. I don't think they are as good as the beef but they are ok.
Pam, are you inundated with bad weather too? Hope you are well.

Lol LaDonna I feel the same way. Just happy she finally got around to cashing it. Now I'll play the wait game for the town to cash the check for LuLa's license. I refuse to pay the online fee to use my credit card so I'll simply wait.
My meals today are all planned and tracked. Was going to have tuna and a salad but I found some lentil soup in the freezer. So cold out that soup will taste good.

Got the results of the bloodwork. At least now I know why I am so tired.
B12 is low --- will be giving myself the shots
Iron is on the lower end of the allowed spectrum --- will be taking pills.
Vitamin level is up, but not to where it should be so will be taking the 50,000 units once a week for a few more months.
Thyroid is good.

Ann, lentil soup sounds really good. I'm thinking taco soup tomorrow. I don't blame you for not doing the online payment when there is a fee - I've ran across those too and just write the check.
Bee, hope the injections and vitamins boost your energy. DH has to take the large units of Vita D every so often.
About to head out the work door - woot woot! Another coworker has tested positive for Covid. She works right down the hall from me but I've not seen her in person in over a week maybe longer. She came to work Monday not feeling good from what I hear ... SMH. Too bad work is not optional! LOL

Bee I hope the B 12 brings you some energy.
It is impossible to get out on our road and HEB and Walmart are both closed anyway. Thank goodness for neighbors checking on their elderly neighbors(LOL) and bringing staples. We could use some meat but it looks like we may be able to get out Friday. HEB hasn't gotten any trucks in so I hope we can find meat somewhere. Between now and then we have donated lunch meat, tomato soup, chicken noodle soup. One neighbor brought Kenneth 2 big onions which he loves. Both of us are about out of fruit and yogurt. I am out of yogurt but will make do.
We are doing okay. It could be worse. You can always find someone worse off than you.

Becky, here's how you prepare for next time. Find a small box and fill it with filling non perishable items you can eat cold. Even if you stick it in the corner of a room, you will be prepared. Cereal, canned soup, canned chili and other beans can all be eaten cold. We all need to be ready for emergencies even if it is not our normal way of eating. I read that 400,000 were without power in Mexico probably across the border because I saw a photo of a man cross country skiing on the beach in Galveston. I have been to Galveston several times and find that seem difficult to imagine. Hopefully your weather will change very soon. Cathy, Leo had 2 A= grades, 1 A, a B+ and a B-. I have to study the grade sheet more but think the lowest grade was for not finishing all of his work. His desk is finally here and built but being in the same room with Nora is a huge distraction. She is a distraction in a household where there is no such word as No. I am going to look for pea seed for your husband at the landscape nursery tomorrow. It is so close to Leo's house and tomorrow is the easy day with science and computer labs. If I ordered it, it would take forever to arrive. MJ, I am sure the outside work seemed good at the time and it was valuable to get everything cleared before the next storm arrives. I have never set a timer for doing paperwork. It is what it is. Bee, glad the bloodwork allows you to know what to do to improve your energy and numbers. Being in rehab so long didn't help. I take B12 pills and all sorts of supplements and they are all good. Look at the Harvard Health web site and you will find lists of foods rich in irons and other vitamins and minerals. Susi, you are right about cats being resourceful. Indiana hides under big plants or trees when he can't get to the house in heavy rain. I was upset to see the beagle was loose again. The owner was reunited with him and said he can't wear a collar and tags because of a nerve condition ( ) She said his nose makes him run away and I had to say it was security of his yard and it would be good if she could determine how he is getting out. Our small Lily Belle dug a very good hole to escape to the backyard neighbor's yard when we first got her and she was young and energetic. He called us and we repaired all of the larger spaces in the fence. Ann, our city water company charges a fee for on line bill paying. I have only used it when I am out of town and resent doing so. I pay almost everything else on line. Almonds have been untouched for weeks. That's only because I discovered pistachios. Now I am trying to replace them with air popped popcorn.

LaDonna love any kind of chicken soup.
Bee praying the vitamins and shot helps.
Audrey also a fan of pistachios. Never thought to replace nuts with air popped popcorn. That may work.

Audrey I know how to be prepared next time. The problem will be finding a grocery store that is stocked since delivery trucks aren't running. One neighbor did bring cereal and we also have oatmeal. We are just out of meat except for donated lunch meat and I have some frozen breaded breasts a neighbor sent that Kenneth won't eat. Once we can get out a neighbor who is well stocked has offered frozen ground beef and steak. Her friend shops for her and she said she has plenty. We all help out each other out here since we aren't close to people in town.
I have been amazed by the number of Elgin people I have met on Facebook the last few days who are willing to help if we can pick up the food but the roads are just too icy to drive on.
