This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat. 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss Dvd" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable.
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me

Morning all....another day of OT but at least this morning the computer isn't being stupid so I could pop on and say "good morning"! It's a really cold day today getting ready for the snow that will start after midnight sometime and snow all day tomorrow. As of last night they had decrease our predicted amount from 5-8" to 2-5" so that's a good thing! Best part is after this "blast of cold and & weather" we are heading to the mid 40's for the foreseeable forecast...temps a bit "above" normal for a spell! I can deal with that.
Last night after I had gotten out of the shower, portioned out all my lunch stuff to put in my lunch box today, Jason showed up with a rotisserie chicken for this weekend's White Chicken Chili so I had to get that picked and in the fridge. By then I was done! Fell asleep shortly after 9:00 and while I didn't get quite my 7 hour goal, I got "good sleep" so that helps...just not enough! I know I'll be dragging by week's end....looking like 5 days of OT and that catches up with me by Friday!!
Today..."walk it off"! Whether it be a poor food choice, foul mood, bitter thoughts, walk it off and let it go! Hanging onto the extra "baggage" just weighs you down and keeps you from doing and feeling the way YOU want!! We can do it! Literally "walking it off" also is great for those APs, right???
Hope to be able to go back a couple days and catch up after work today!! See you then.

Good morning, ladies!
Sue: mmmm white chicken chili!
I vow to WALK IT OFF when things go south... I vow to WALK IT OFF when I get overwhelmed... I vow to WALK IT OFF if I put something in my mouth that doesn't belong there! Have a great one ladies!

Good Morning - WI today has me down, -1.8# . THAT is a pleasant surprised. It is so hard right now - hard to get moving, hard to find the motivation to care...I think some of you get where I'm coming from.
COLD and snowy here again today. Monday night the Weather Alerts were going nuts saying we were in for another round of bad heavy snow. We were prepared to work from home on Tuesday - it never happened. Never got the heavy snow until daylight when we were all in the school. Grrrr - I really was stuck, emotionally, hoping we would be able to stay home - isn't that petty of me?
Another round of State testing our English Language learners. Remember each student has to test in 4 domains - which is why it's such a lengthy process - today we will tackle 7 more students, tomorrow another 7, and Friday the last 9. It will be good to box up the test booklets (everything but Writing is online) and finish the project. We've been hearing the States are waiting and waiting to see if this new Administration in US Dept of Ed will offer waivers for mandatory State testing since so many schools are still teaching hybrid or remote. Fingers crossed - because scheduling 320 students to take the Reading and Math tests while socially distanced and half being Remote will be a nightmare this Spring.
Sunday night DD21 came to me and cried and cried. She is so sad and miserable. And lost. It's easy to say "blame it on COVID" but it's hard when you are living it. I encouraged her to take Monday off from the internship, make a list of 'have to do's' for Grad school, and buckle down and 'Just Do It'. I offered to bring her tea to keep her going - lol - it worked. But yesterday her usual day off from Intern she admitted she was 'stuck' again and was not as productive with Grad school work. I can't do this for her. And I don't know what else to do help her find her mojo. Dropping out of Grad school would mean no Internship which seems to be the one thing she enjoys. What a mess. All I can say, "It's temporary. March will bring Spring and less COVID restrictions"

Monday was NOT a day to myself after all - DD24's mentor 'called off' which meant she had no one to shadow in the schools so she was home all day too. Not that big of a deal - I was working on our taxes and contract reports, Carly was up in her room doing lesson plans and Grad school work, and Linds was doing her work. A quiet day. I ended up cooking healthy meals - Stuffed Peppers for us, and goulash (not so healthy?) for DH as he hates stuffed peppers. Leftovers for lunch yesterday. Last night I made marinated chicken in the Air Fryer - I set it on air roast - it was fine. Steamed broccoli with it. Kind of simple but it worked, and now we have left over chicken for the week to place on salads. Today is Ash Wednesday. I'll put tuna over my salad with hb egg. Pancakes for dinner tonight Sue - I really REALLY like your theme for our day. Walk It Off - or Walk Away in my case. Yesterday was another day at work where the Prince emailed a 'gotcha!' message - yep, I was maliciously not following the written Attendance policy and approving families requesting Family Educational Trips during a pandemic. He believes I should have denied their request. I pointed out WHY? when they could take their school issued computer and remotely do school work? The catch is the families will be required to quarantine for 14 days per school policy. Their choice to still travel. BTW - who the heck is traveling like this during a Pandemic??? Rolling my eyes. I believe these families were being honest with the school otherwise they could have just lied and traveled anyways. Just another reason to be in a funk. My knees ache and hurt and feel swollen. The tops of my feet hurt. This extra weight is causing me pain and I too just feel 'stuck'. All I can do is Track, Plan, and do my best to MOVE more. I find myself taking laps around the school but the stairs are a killer. Still, my FitBit looks good. See, I'm trying to find the POSITIVE. Snow plows are out there - my cue to get moving and at least feel prepared to face the day. I will focus on WALK IT OFF. I really do like that theme.

WALK IT OFF WEDNESDAY - OK Then... will walk around the patio pushing snow again - I guess! I know, I know, "it's good for me" but Gosh I am getting TIRED of the weather!! UGH!
Sue: I thought you were thinking of begging off OT today? Maybe I misread... hang in there - you'll be glad for the $$!
I need to clock in early today, make up some time for my injections yesterday... be back later!

Good Morning! I got into a funk myself last night. Rummaged through the house found ice cream, jelly beans.....it wasn't pretty. Today is a new day and a chance to start over. My stomach is paying for it this morning. Oiy!
Sue, thanks for starting us. I will walk away from beating myself up about last night. Sounds like you are wearing yourself out. White chicken chili sounds yummy. Glad your sleep was better.
Christine, we are 19 degrees here and expecting 1 -2 inches and ice. Which is alot for around here. What is the difference if families travel as long as they get the work done. But I'm with you, who is doing all of this traveling anyway. Sounds like you have a challenging time ahead of you at work, as usual. Sorry to hear Lindsey is struggling. She will get it figured out. At least you had a quiet day even though it wasn't by yourself.
Hi Karen, glad you plan to walk away from those situations. I'm right there with you.
I've got to get moving. Slept in this morning. Waves to all who follow, Gabrielle, Jenny, Shelly, Lisa, Carole

Good morning!
What a great theme for today...thank you Sue! In spite of her exhaustion from overtime, the creativity still comes through DOR today from running...wishing that I had it in me to do a workout this morning as my first meeting (Zoom) is at 7:30 am, I have 2 half hour breaks during the day before wrapping up my last Zoom at 8:30 pm. Who knows if I will even have dinner, sheesh. I decided to get some sleep today instead of getting up early to workout. You all know what this is like...I woke up at 2:00 am and the mind went crazy and I couldn't sleep until 4:00 -- so caught a last 30 min before throwing in the towel. Hoping for good sleep tonight--just a lot of deadlines right now. I do think that it is helping keeping a daily journal/agenda to follow. This is the longest I have stuck with something like that so feeling good about that.
Sue: Yes, it is sounding like you will be happy once Friday rolls around and your week filled with OT is wrapped up. Chicken chili sounds great too! I made a black bean soup the other day that was simple but tasted good...hoping that DH will eat it to get some more protein. Hope that you have an okay day and no more "stupid" computer issues!
Karen: So glad that you are keeping yourself looking forward during this challenging week (after challenging months!). You know that we are here for you....thinking about you!
Christine: Oh, I hear you on wanting to be home on Tuesday...some days I am just done with "adulting" and feel that way too. I am so sorry about Linds right now...so tough. I think that you were looking for a counselor or someone for her to talk to? Were you able to find someone? After spending months looking for DS21 I know that it is hard to find the right person. Hugs to you and to Linds. Oh yes, I know how tough the EL testing is! Especially with the K/1 group. We are experiencing those challenges as well. GOOD FOR YOU for getting it done. I know that some of our districts keep putting it off. We are having the same situation... a lot of people holding off on testing and hoping that the new administration offers waivers soon. Has your state leadership committed to applying for a waiver if it is available? Here in CA, they are telling us to get ready to offer the testing ONLINE...with WEBCAMS!! I can't imagine. Anyway, we will see. Uggh to the Prince and kudos to families for being honest! What a nut he is...too bad that he is unable to think things through completely or have a civil conversation since you ARE an intelligent person who might actually help him to understand things better. Grrr... I know what you mean about not feeling it but WOW to the drop on the scale--good job! We all know that the food intake is the key ---activity is great and you know that I am a fan, but the food intake is really important and you must be doing well with that. It's so hard to be motivated to move, etc. when you are trapped inside due to weather, etc. Hang in there!

Carole: Good job continuing the decluttering! I have done that before--bought two identical items and had no memory of buying the first one! My coworker said that I need to learn how to use the marketplace on FB...someday! Oh, I remember you talking about sugar on snow in the past...how fun to introduce Zoe to it! DEFINITELY an east coast tradition that I need to try sometime! Yum, glad that you were able to use the recipe! I remember really liking it...especially if you have a good cut of beef. So you will be pushing snow around today huh.? Maybe turn on some music and make it a bit more entertaining? Good idea to be up and moving...I am already thinking of that 5:15 - 8:30 pm Zoom today (actually, it is Google Meets) and if I can move around during the meeting...auditors reporting (UGGH). I will try though! Glad that you got your injections okay and hope that you have a good day!
Jo: Oh man, sorry about the sugar cravings last night. Yes, today is a new day--we have all been there too.
Okay, need to get moving so that I can be settled in the office for the 7:30 pm zoom. Have a good day ladies!

Good Morning
It's good to be back here and being able to visit. We have been dealing with so many tree's down with our storm on Friday night, it's just a mess out there and having no cable for DH was horrible. When we got out power back early Sunday morning I just plugged in the blue ray and watched movies for about 3 day's, I love watching movies and so we did. Sunday on Valentines day I made turkey Spaghetti and bread and we watched movies for the evening which was fun. I re watched "The Hangover" I forgot how funny that was, I just laughed and laughed. Last night we finally got cable back so DH could watch the Blazers game last night.
No we are not traveling to TX we have a Dallas Or, and it's about 13 miles west of Salem, so no travel here and yes I have an uncle in TX right now and it's only 6 degree's and just miseralble there.
We went to meet the pastor on Monday and DFIL was not doing well with it all and it's normal, they were married for 70 years so it's normal to miss her. She married him when she was barley 15 years old and he was 20 at the time and the pastor was teasing him about it and he got pissed off and walked out of the room, but he came back so that was the end of that. We went yesterday to the funeral home and she looked very nice and so peaceful like she was just sleeping. DFIL was very happy with how she looked. Today is the funeral at 1:00pm but we can't bury her until they get all the tree's out of the way that fell down during the storm over the weekend and so we will do that sometime soon.
Well that's where were at so far, I'm off for the rest of the week so hopefully we can get her stuff out of the memory care and get it home to DFIL and he can get some money back because they pro rate it.
OK need to get going I hope everyone has a good day

Evening all...heading back a few days to see what I have missed!
Carole...I'm sure Sunday was a success and wonderful day for Eden. Had to giggle at the "not so successful" tracker...it happens! So glad you are happy with your cut and color...hey, do what makes you feel good! I have to admit, I loved your gray but it's not my head! Love the idea of spending Eden's birthday in FL next year! Sounds like a good plan to me! The paint night was actually at the "Markets of Hanover", a venue we have painted at many times before....since this was a couple's paint Lacey's studio was too small to accommodate 10 couples socially distanced so she held it at the Markets again. It was fun! I checked Google and it looks like the beach would only be about an hour from the lots in FL...heck, that's closer than you are now, right??? I'm sure the sand is a mess in the entryway but you are right...don't want anyone slipping!! Glad the "scare" of the fire trucks was nothing serious!! Bummer it woke you and kept you awake!
Gabrielle...I'm sure you loved your long weekend!! I love Pioneer Woman...not a fan of Barefoot Contessa....Jason loves Ina Garten! Not sure why but he loves Barefoot Contessa! You are right about people with dark hair all of a sudden going gray....very noticeable! That is why my DF Lynne gradually lightened the color of her hair so when she turned 60 and decided to go gray it was much less noticeable than had she done it with the same color she was naturally when she was younger....I am lucky and come from a non-graying gene pool.
Christine...I don't think you will be getting much of anything from the storm heading our way tonight/tomorrow. Sounds like a nice evening at the brewery with an impromptu visit with friends. Nightcap in front of the fireplace sounds wonderful!
Lisa...so glad you got to pop in! Looking forward to seeing you more often here on the thread! Love that sweet baby picture!
Hugs Karen...I was so excited to see the news that Emily is having a baby girl! Love her name!
Jo....YAY for the nice weekend! Guess I wasn't the only one at work on Monday!! But, I'm working Friday! No 3 day weekend for me! How fun to have some family time on Sunday with all 4 of you!! Sorry for the sore back! What kind of chicken did you do in the air fryer and how did you make it?? Baked potatoes in 10 minutes...WOW, that's fast! I know they are faster than baking in a traditional oven but I didn't think that fast!!
Will say my back has been a bit achy lately with the OT...we are working on unboxing, sorting and reboxing all the journals that came back to us for a returning customer...they left for a cheaper price about 2 years ago and came back because of poor customer service and quality of work....but we are doing the purging/destroyal for them....depending on the year of the issue they will keep 2 copies, 5 copies, 25 copies, etc....many of the 5 copies we SENT to them are now being cut to only 2 copies in storage so it's a lot of sorting and organizing! Not hard, just tedious and back breaking! Today was Day #3 of OT and will have 2 more this week and likely into the following week....once we are done sorting we will need to enter all the journals into the system and that will be HUGE as they have many publications and MANY years of back issues!

Carole...If I was off on Monday, I probably wouldn't want to "move more" either but since I had to work, I figured all of you ladies needed to get up and move with me! LOL! WOW noon to 8:00pm, that's a long visit! You are indeed lucky to have been able to enjoy family visits through this whole pandemic....I'm jealous! Glad the girls enjoyed the "shorter" hill rides with you the other day....more sliding is SO MUCH more fun than trekking up the entire hill. Sometimes "less is more" and who cares if Pat took them to the top....you took them on more rides! WIN for you! So what were the "extra" things Kathy brought for the salad bar?? Sounds like you had a GREAT day food-wise! WTG!! LOL, I was right, it looked like the beach was only about an hour from the land in FL...I know how far it is from Jacksonville to Orlando so I just "eyeballed" it and guesstimated!
Lisa...glad you didn't have to venture out into the snowy weather....hopefully you got the driveway cleared off so it was ready when you did need to head out to work! Yes, it really is only mid-February and snow is "normal" for us too but I still don't like it and don't want it....I don't even need "summer" yet....just no snow, no wind and some sunshine! 40's is OK now for me! Good thing for us...after Sunday, all the daytime temps on the 10 day forecast are mid to upper 40's and I even saw a 51° for one day the end of next week! I can handle that! Thankfully I have slept better since Sunday...not long enough but at least "good sleep"!! Glad both you and Greg have been able to get your first vaccines....PA is still so unorganized and hard to get scheduled! I'm not eligible yet but Jason is and I still can't get him an appointment!
Gabrielle...yes, a rainy day is a perfect day to stay home, warm and dry!! That's OK that you never got back after the Tony W work shop...I never got back after FaceTiming with Hannah either! Day just got away from me! How fun to have DM come visit! Chocolate Fondue...how special is that! I tried to check out the WW link for the Beef Stroganoff but since I'm not a member at this point, I couldn't log in to see it. Could you post it for me or add it to the Pinterest folder?? Yes, I would tend to lean toward a glass of wine before beer but I do love to try many of the craft beers from the local brew pubs....not the usual Bud Light, Coors Light, Michelob Ultra, etc....when we visit Hannah & Shea they have some great options and we will often get a "flight" of the small samples. It was fun on Saturday to have that choice too...it wasn't advertised when I signed us up for the paint night so it was a fun surprise! I think we will likely try the place out when it does open. They folks that own it were great and we did find a couple that we both liked and for Jason, that is CRAZY!!
Gabrielle...Amanda annoys me when it comes to "having plans" when she knows that Colton is part of a team and should honor the commitment he made to his coach and other teammates. His game was at 12:30pm so why couldn't she make the plans for later in the afternoon instead of 1:00pm? Really?? Colton is at the age where he is "waffling" between wanting to confront her and still not wanting to "hurt her feelings". He mentioned how he "let down his team" by not being there. He knows but she is a "master manipulator" and Colton struggles with telling her that he wants to go to his game. He will just be 12 on Sunday and as I said, he knows and he is trying but he's still sometimes the "little boy" that doesn't want to disappoint his mommy! It's tough, I feel bad for him!
Most recent news is not much but it is good(?) news....the further testing shows that the covering of her brain and spinal column are not infected so the localized "Gamma Knife" radiation is possible. This is the same radiation my DD had...it did shrink the tumor some but this will NOT cure the cancer....it is still a palliative measures approach but it will improve quality for whatever time she has as it will improve any neurological symptoms she is having!
Only "technical issues" we continue to struggle with is how much slower MS365 is than Windows 10....add in the "remote" warehouse that slows us down anyway and it's frustrating! Thankfully Mark is aware at how much things for him "slowed down" when he was upgraded to MS365 so he knows what we are dealing with....
Well...didn't quite get all caught up but need some dinner and want to head to bed early....with the snow coming and OT in the morning, need to be up and out early to make it there by 6:00am!
Shelly....how you are safe and warm...been watching the weather in TX and OK and know the weather is rough and many are w/o power!!
Waves to all I missed....see you all tomorrow!

Well didn't make it back as planned - who's surprised? I had an hour of another "presentation" to attend today - so not sure why... it was basically a sales pitch, but hey, I do what I have to do!
Let me catch up.
Jo: No worries, hun... I saw the Saturday thread back at the top and KNEW something was "up"!
Karen: {{{{{hugs}}}}}, Yes - get out of town... Go enjoy your "family" ♥ and dare I say the ocean?? I am not positive Charleston, SC IS on the coast, but enjoy it anyway! UGH, Sorry FSIL blocked you on FB... wonder why? Now? I mean, Geeze... YAY for making progress with your counselor!
May I ask? How are Emily and Isaac doing with all of this???
LOL Yeah, I have supported my kids kitchens over the years - and still could now!

Sue: Sorry you are feeling the OT this week. Hopefully by next week things will be back to normal. We got up to about 33 today - but not much sunshine. not much snow either - so there's the gratitude for today! Apparently Thursday night into Friday we will get more... supposed to be "major"... who knows anymore!
Well my "walking it off" didn't go as planned either! There's another "Surprise"! Catching up from being off Friday afternoon - and a Holiday weekend (Settlement) just isn't as easy as it used to be! Oh well, maybe I can get it to balance tomorrow!
Eating went OK today, and WI this morning was a good one... now to hang on to that until my WW WI Day Friday!
Karen: {{{{hugs}}}} can you leave Friday??
Christine: YAY for a loss this week! Oh yes, TOTALLY get the way you are feeling. Most days I don't really "care" anymore! Oh dear, NO... not petty of you to want to work from home! As frustrated as I get with working from home, I am still grateful to be here!
{{{{hugs}}}} to you and to DD21 ♥ I feel her pain too ~ more and more tearful days here as well! Good luck getting through to her, and helping her to HANG ON... yes, Spring, Better Weather, More vaccines... there HAS to be "light" at the end of the tunnel!
Well, sorry your day home alone wasn't as planned ~ But at least it was a quiet one for ya'!
LOL YOU being "malicious"?! Hmm, yeah, difficult to say NO to families that want to travel - they will go whether you "allow" it or not! Seriously WHY would anyone want to travel, and then have to quarantine for 14 days upon return!
There ya' have it... sorry your feet and knees are giving you trouble - and yes stairs are hurtful! I do them too... every few times I head upstairs to use that bathroom - just because!
Jo: Uh Oh, sorry about your funk too! Hopefully it passes ASAP!
Gabrielle: Yikes, what a day for you! You must be just finishing up now? I hope you had a chance to get home before the late night Zoom! Keep that journaling/tracking and list making going! It does become habit, and once you get into it - it helps. At least I think it does. Although it does NOT help me sleep!
Well no snow to push around today after all - BUT... I did get up and MOVE during the presentation I was involved with. I have no camera or mic so HA! I just got up and walked around my DR and kitchen! Hoping tomorrow will be more "active"!
Jenny: WOO HOO for getting your power and cable back! So sorry for your loss ♥ Hoping the day went OK for you all, and that you can get the stuff out of the memory care place soon! UGH to the trees down, putting a slow down on the actual burial.
Sue: LOL No one seemed to agree with me on being in FL next year! Yes, I'd be happy with a vacation home only 1 hour from the beach in FL! IF it ever happens, it will not be The Ritz, that's for sure! Ugh, that does sound like a very tedious job!
LOL Very simple, she brought cut cauliflower, diced carrots, cup cherry tomatoes... everything was simple and normal, But I do not often take the time to chop those little extras!

OK Time to head upstairs, journal my day and track it too! Then enjoy my large cup of tea, and settle in for a quiet night!
Ken is home ~ He had his 2nd shot this evening, so time will tell how he feels tomorrow!
Tracy goes in he morning ~ Then she has PT in the afternoon! She'll bring Eden home with her for an overnight, since Tracy or my sister Mary will watch her Friday. Since we are supposed to have snow in the morning Friday, it's easier to just have her overnight. Not sure what that will mean for dinner tomorrow night, but we'll figure it out!
Hope to be up and moving in time to check in tomorrow ~ Sue I hope you get some rest before another early day tomorrow!
♥hugs♥
