It must be Thursday. My plan is similar all week.I will walk before breakfast and PMTH. After breakfast I will help Leo with his schoolwork. His desk is finished but unfortunately it is on the same wall is Norris and she is a big distraction. We will see how it works out. Yesterday I called my neighbor and she was in the shower but her daughter Kate answered the phone.Kate is living in Hawaii with her family but they are here because she went to UC Davis to get a second opinion regarding the pain in her arm.It was confirmed that she does have a LS and she has a plan to go forward with treatment. They all left today to go to Los Angeles because her baby is having another cleft palate surgery at the Childrenβs Hospital there. He was born in the early spring of last year. It is so sad to see a young vibrant 38-year-old woman and her family have to dea Dinner tonight is Mexican minestrone from Robβs mother-in-lawβs cookbook and it looks like an easy delicious recipe to make for dinner with green hatch chili handmade tortillas that are made at a Fresno company and fresh green saladsl with so much.It definitely makes us count our blessings. Kate was Marine officer where she met her husband but she had to get an honorable discharge when she could no longer left a rifle. She can barely lift her two babies. Dinner tonight is Mexican minestrone from our sonβs mother-in-lawβs cookbook and it looks like an easy tasty recipe.I have small hatch green chili tortillas from La Tortilla Factory and I will also make salads. Stay warm and safe.

Read all the posts from Wednesday. Am relying onmy memory. . . so please forgive me if I make a mistake or overlook anyone.
Ann Good to find some lentil soup -- so hardy.
Audrey Great report for Leo. Kudos to Leo and his dedicated teaching aide AKA grandma.
Bee Good that your bloodwork identified a problem to you can be fixed w/ a trip to the pharmacy or dept, store. Hopeful that you soon feel more energetic and more like yourself.
Becky So grateful that your neighbors are helping you. Happy that you had a hearty breakfast that you both like. The smalls things make a big difference in difficult times.
Cathy Hope that your cat found cover.
Mj We have ice under a thin layer of snow. I keep telling R to be careful walking in the sidewalk.
LaDonna Always a plus when a meal hits the spot and isfilling. Sending prayers for you to stay healthy & for your coworker to respond quickly to treatment. I would like to be back in the classroom, but I am glad that I can work remotely thissemester. I want no part of those who will not follow public health guidelines.
Pam Hope all is well with you and yours.
Susi Hope that you are doing well. I hope that the fur kids are okay.

Thanks for the start June.
Keeping your friend in my prayers Audrey. Your meal sounds tasty.
Tomorrow I have a manicure at noon to look forward to. Hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate. If we wake up to weather I'll have to reschedule.
Prayers for all continue.

I will: track, hydrate (need to boil and filter more drinking water), move, have fruit/veg at every meal
Scale still at 170.4...maybe walking today will help with that. It is cool and snow on the mountains is at 600 meters - we are at 450 or 500 meters, I think. We have leftovers for lunch and I might also roast the cauliflower and broccoli and make a tahini-lemon-garlic dip to go with them.
ANN: Glad you sleep well in the cooler months and that your home is warm and cozy even when cold outside.
MJ: Off to google "ice dam" - glad that Jeanne is able to go home and seems to be on the mend. I am educated...sort of...on ice dams. How do YOU remove the ones that form on your house?
JUNE: In the past when hubby has planted peas he has often been frustrated by turtles, gophers and birds that come and help themselves. Sometimes the weeds hide the beans and peas, too NUTS to NUTS! I remember counting out ten peanuts when I would meet a friend...ten peanuts were one point and I savored every one of them! For some reason hot cereal sounds good to me. I would probably chop up an apple to cook with it and add some cinnamon...hmm... How sad and difficult for your neighbor's daughter and the entire family. Let us know how the soup turns out! Mounah just came in and said he saw the cat in the House I made for her from a plastic storage box. I cut a hole on the front and another on the side so she can go inside, heat it up with her body heat and stay cozy and dry. Otherwise she has a shelf or the garage to hunker down in...no doubt other spots, too.
BEE: No sign of pea seeds to plant yet. Of course, with the rain it may be a few days before my husband can garden again! Will the therapist come to you for rehab or will you need to go in for the session? Hope the B12, vitamins and iron perk you up!
BECKY: Dealing with power cuts, roads closed, water cuts...all of it...is not easy. I applaud you for your positive attitude and hope warmer days are forecast for the near future! It is marvelous that your town pulls together. Too bad there are not some energetic younger people willing to snowshoe or cross country ski things to people in need...or...perhaps those snow mobiles. I suppose it is so rare to have this kind of weather that not many if iany have snow equipment, though! I am glad you do have SOME food!
SUSI: I have an Egyptian cookbook bought wheen in Egypt one time. My sister and mother joined our family there and...well...it was interesting and a story for another day. The food is similar in the region with some variations on spices, usually. Hearty, healthy, simple food usually. HOTDOGS! When in the USA family knows I want Mexican food BUT one year I wanted hotdogs and requested them at each of the four stops I made to see family.
LADONNA: Weather here is gloomy and wet. When the land is supersaturated it will seep up through the basement floor then recede when the rainwater trickles down into the earth after the rain stops. A salad with tuna sounds good...hmm... I hope that more people you work with don't come down with covid-19 due to the woman exposing them!
AUDREY: Thank you for the pea seed offer. I would counsel against sending anything by mail right now because with the situation as it is now in Lebanon the mail is iffy at best. Mounah's birthday card sent last November or October still has not arrived. He will probably ask a friend to go to the shop that did have peas OR he might go himself if he really wants them. That said, he could lose them to weeds, ants, birds or moles even if he does plant them! I think they will be in the produce markets if we don't plant any. I am thrilled Leo is doing well with school. How old is Nora? Can she be distracted at all with a project of her own? I read an online blog that said you can pop popcorn without oil in a covered heavy pot or teflon type pot. You heat for 2 minutes, add the popcorn, keep pot moving and turn fire off when there are three seconds between the final kernels popping. I have an air popper BUT the seeds don't pop as well and scatter all over the counter. My husband sent gifts to me before we were married. I had to meet his friend at some big hotel in Los Angeles to pick the items up. There was a gorgeous pleated off-white silk caftan with cold threads in a pattern and...pistachio nuts that were salty with a hint of lemon...divine! I think my daughter now has that dress and another one?
I am off to walk my first 20 minutes...need to find a book to read on the Nook, first, then get walking!

Cathy Ooooo. . . that caftan sounds divine. You must have looked heavenly when you wore it. And I can almost the pistachio nuts. I am smiling and thinking. Awwwww-- what a great memory. The extra movement will probably help kick your body into the 160s. Good luck!
Glad that your cat used the outdoor shelter that you made.

Good morning Will have a nice bubble bath some time today. Have grading to do today. Not sure what dinner will be. There's a small amount of l/o cabbage & noodles with lean ham for lunch.
Had two nice e-mails awaiting inmy inbox. One from a student letting me know that she appreciated all the helpful feedback I offer. The other was from an academic coach for Early College thanked me for being so thoughtful. I needed that. And the lessons that have come my way this and lat week.
We have a 90% of snow today, but it is not expect to be heavy. We may reach a balmy 30 degrees. Grateful that we are likely to escape the worst. But we are well prepared for many scenarios.

Ann Wishing you safe travels. LOL. . . Was thinking that hot pink might be a good color during winter. In 2019, my mom would chose a bright color for her manicure at the NH.

June what a wonderful way to start your day. Not one but two uplifting emails. Enjoy that relaxing bubble bath.
Lol to hot pink. Twice in a row I chose different shades of pink. We shall see what strikes my fancy.
We are still under that snow cloud. We too are prepared for whatever happens.

Thanks for the start June. Enjoy your bubble bath It's nice to be appreciated! That was kind of them. So many just take it for granted. Glad your weather isn't too bad Audrey - Lots of prayer to your neighbor, Kate and her family. Dinner sounds good. Enjoy Ann - Hope the weather holds out until after your mani. I normally go nude but did lilac last time to feel like spring Cathy - Yum on the tahini lemon garlic dip. I might need to make a little. That would go well with roasted or air fried broccoli that I may have as a snack. MJ - Are you getting just the snow? Becky - Hope your neighbors have been able to continue helping you out with food and water. Waving to Bee, LaDonna, Pam and anyone else I missed. I have a sheet of white ice on everything. It had just started when we were leaving to feed the ferals. Lily and I carried on but Carol and Frankie turned around. Not safe for her to walk in that with the boot on her foot and stinging ice in our faces. The cats ate and ran. :-) They decided to close the office. I'll do some of the reports from home. One of the maintenance guys got the payroll and put it on my desk for me. Carol went into work. She said the roads there are just wet and it's snowing lightly but continuously. Of course I'm worried about her driving home but she will leave early and take her time. Still undecided about dinner - either chicken stuffed with poblanos and cheese with hatch chili salsa and ff sour cream or chili relleno with the same sides. Homemade onion soup with hallumi and wheat croutons for lunch. Breakfast was a blt w/cheese.

The AshWed service was nice - only 10 of us in attendance including the pastor. He applied the ashes with a qtip (a clean one each time) instead of his thumb like normal. I love this season. It is a time of reflection as well as a celebration that can be quiet and calm without all the hoopla that the Christmas season brings. Randy and I are going to pray together each evening during Lent. It was so sweet last night - he named all of his family that he was thankful for and included Lucy. Dinner tonight will be grilled boneless catfish fillets and maybe a catfish stew to go along with? Not sure DH is in charge of dinner this evening. Its pouring outside and he is home today. I guess another housewalk today - No biggie, I want to do redo some floors anyway LOL June, I wish we could still work from home but we have been told we need to set an example as teachers are not happy about being in the classroom. I feel mostly safe and I'm just being so careful as always. What wonderful emails to help bright the spirit! Audrey, sorry to hear about your friend and her child. I wonder what causes the cleft palate? I have a dear friend and her grandson was born with one. He has had all of his surgeries I think but what a mess for the poor children who don't have that option. Ann, enjoy your mani! glad you are prepared for the storm if it hits. Cathy, gosh you are so close to the next decade...hang in there. There have been several folks with the virus here at work. The two ladies Im in direct contact with daily and share an office suite with, we keep our door shut! If people want to see us they email or if they come in they have their mask. The three of us have been lucky, blessed, whatever you want to call it but I am thankful. Susi, both choices for dinner sound good and your lunch sounds really amazing! Wish I could have a taste Hope all will be safe! Becky, hope you and K are warm and have something good to eat today. Waving to Bee, MJ, Pam ---Later
