Asking for prayers. Even with kind neighbors sharing food and water we are getting really low on food. I know everyone here would help if they could. This is the second day straight we cannot get out. Even when the stores reopen I donβt know when there will have enough food to buy.
I am thankful the power has stayed on overnight and remains on so far but I am emotionally drained and lost it earlier.
Also asking prayers for the moms in Elgin unable to find milk for their babies.
I know there is a silver lining in all this. Sun is going to be out tomorrow and I pray things will start looking up.

Becky, I cannot imagine what y'all are going through.
Praying.
Another cold day here in the marshes. LOL
OP went well. She has one more visit with me next week. PT will see me longer.
I know some folks hate these words --- I AM COOKING LIVER AND ONIONS FOR DINNER! With low iron I will be eating it a lot.
Hope ALL have a great day!

Becky, prayers up for you. Is the national guard doing anything for you all? I know resources are probably stretched to limitations given the number of people needing help.
Bee, I don't mind liver and onions - I had them a time or two growing up..The liver was battered and fried. Been a many a day. Hope u enjoy.
MJ, enjoy the white fluffy.

LaDonna yeah on a nice Lenten service. I agree with you 100% regarding the reflective season on Lent. I stopped 'giving up' something for Lent and started to DO something positive like reaching out to someone or just passing a kind word to someone you know needs it the most. Hard to 'smile' with the mask on...although you can still 'see it in the eyes' as my dear mom used to say.....
(((Becky))) prayers and more prayers going out for you and all involved during this time. Yes there IS a silver lining. Praying you get to see it soon.
Bee I tried to like 'liver' I can remember back in the day it was a weekly requirement being on Weight Watchers. I dropped that item from my list very quickly. Just not a fan but in your case I'm happy you enjoy it.
MJ hope the white stuff remains light and fluffy.
I had a wonderful time with Mindy. She did a nice job on the manicure. I chose a very light golden color with colored sparkles. Makes me smile when I look at it. Very festive......

Cathy, if I find seeds they would be for next year. Bob saves seed for 5 years. His mom did it in glass jars but he keeps them in their packets in one drawer. We actually bought our large kale seed in Portugal. By the time he located the tomato seed he wanted Jeremy had already started several varieties so itβs for next year.
Ann my nails are sparkling red till the end of the month. Then Iβll switch to light pink. Susi, how far is your walk to the ferals? They continue to be lucky to have you. Iβm glad you can work from home LaDonna, that sounds like a perfect Lenten service. Bee, I donβt make it at home but we both love liver and onions and would often order it at a diner when we traveled just because I donβt make it. Becky, I hope this is your last day to suffer. Bob grew up in a tiny TX town and the lack of services just sucks. His mom would can everything she could get her hands on .

Ann I hope that you see a nail polish color that tickles your fancy.
Susi LOL... I read "Inormallly got nude" and thought -- wait, I think I better read that more slowly. Had a good giggle. Glad that Carol was cautious with her outdoor walk and drive to work. Prayers for her safe arrival home. All the possible dishes for today's dinner sound packed with flavor.
LaDonna So peaceful and uplifting to read about your Ash Wednesday's service, your personal outlook, and shared prayers with R. Love that R included Lucy. Am thankful that the coworker's in your suite are considerate and like minded. My R has also been cooking agreat deal. After reading you post, I might request version Swiss steak. Yum!

Becky Do you have a community or church FB page. Maybe someone cancollect a can here and a can that would add up to enough food Is there shelter where you & Kenneth could stay a day for food& heat. And he could drive to back & forth to your home.
Do you at least have water?
Sending heartfelt prayers for you, anxious moms, and other suffering in TX.
Mj Going back to bed was a good move. Snow stops being so pretty when there is one storm after another.
Bee Leaving liver for others to enjoy is ascarfice that I am willing to make.
Ann Ooo sparkly . . . Sounds fun.

Good afternoon, June - Audrey - Ann - Becky - Bee - Cathy - LaDonna - Susi - Pam - and AWL!
Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...
Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and for all who need extra helpings of divine intervention at this time... and a few extra for all students whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid... and for those who mourn... and for peace in our nation.

At 5:40 AM (when I started the thread) there was nothing falling from the sky here in my part of NJ. So I went back to bed. Now it's snowing. Boy, is it snowing, with some sleet thrown in every once in a while just for giggles. It was really light to sweep before, but the sleet will weigh it down. We are not going out to shovel until later, but will do basic paths before dark so we can ice-melt it down for overnight.
Today? The paperwork that didn't get done yesterday. I've already had a teleconference with someone at YM headquarters, too, about a fundraising/volunteer opportunity. And I need to tally up the rest of the received-to-date food donations. Our collection campaign ends this Saturday, with a drop-off next week. We'll be working around the weather, but the drop-off point is only a couple of blocks away from me.
We'll have pork chops with roasted vegetables for dinner.
Coffee... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... and not much of a plan at all...
πππππππππππππππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! πππππππππππππππ

LaDonna - Glad you had a nice service. I like your plan to pray together. Becky - Glad you at least have some heat. Sending prayers for all of you. Hope you can get out and get food soon. Actually, Bee, I like liver and onions. I don't make it much any more because mine was fried in bacon fat and the mounted with butter. Not the healthiest option. MJ - It started around 7 a.m. Glad you got to go back to sleep. I shoveled the slush and then kept sweeping the front stoop. But the sleet is back and weighing it down. Glad you are happy with your nails Ann. They sound pretty. Audrey - Under 1/2 mile

We finally have power for now but there is not so much as a warming station in Bastrop County. I have had a very emotional morning.

I do not batter my liver. I start with some EVOO, and many chopped onions. I add 1/3 of the onions at a time, for different levels of flavor. When the second adding has begun to caramelize, I put pepper and garlic powder on a partially frozen slice of liver. Push all my onions out to the side of the pan, add my slice of liver seasoned sided own, then season the top side. Cook one side till brown, then the other. You can cut it with a fork it is so tender.
June, I will take all the liver you can sacrifice. LOL

Audrey sparkling red is pretty. I almost chose red this time till my eye caught the sparkling gold tone. I wanted a coral but the one I wanted was on order. Maybe next time. MJ I hope your snow stops and soon. That heavy variety is the pits. Enjoy your supper. (((Becky))) Bee I shall also donate my liver with June. Eat up I did take a short hood walk after lunch and coffee. Just as we were coming home the wind picked up and the sun went in so I was happy to be indoors. Won't bother to tread into the great outdoors until tomorrow.

Shoveling is done for right now. I'm soaking wet (it was sleeting) but I caught the snow before it got too heavy.

MJ donβt get sick shoveling where is a son when you need one?
Ann, I am sure the gold is beautiful I had a color called Peridot that was green and gold. I loved to watch it turn colors. It was discontinued π’
Bee, battered liver seems weird and your recipe with lots of onions is perfect. I began WW in 1974 with liver once a week
Great news! Mary made the esports Minecraft team which is basically playing the computer game Minecraft against a team from another school in a competitions. Leo who is three years younger will help her through video chats to do things that sheβs unfamiliar with since he and Theo have been playing it much longer.
