I have oatmeal with milk and an egg. I also have black coffee. It's been the same for years.

I haven't been eating breakfast but I need to get back into it. I usually have oatmeal with fresh fruit in it, and coffee.

Breakfast:
* Usually toast topped with egg and cooked tomato with black coffee * If out of coffee beans to have freshly ground will sometimes have instant in nonfat milk with a bit of sweetener with the egg, toast, tomato * If I have spinach will add some of that with the tomato
* I want to try the oatmeal again BUT it has so many more calories than the egg breakfast...also used to have peanut butter on toast with a cooked apple...need to do some points tallying to see if it is better to stay with what I am having or make some changes.
* This morning I had some freshly squeezed blood orange juice for 3 points and again wondered how the juice has so many more points than the orange...I understand the reasoning but calorie for calorie does it really make a difference? Same with nonfat milk vs nonfat yogurt at the same number of calories. Ah well...am doing the program as written though it sometimes makes me scratch my head.

2 cups coffee with unsweetened almond milk, cinnamon and unsweetened cocoa powder. A tin of kippered herring. I'm of the Nordic peoples. Oatmeal with more almond milk, cinnamon and 1 level tsp. of Sucanet (a type of sugar). Depending on the state of digestion, with a sliced banana only if I'm having difficulty. If everything is copacetic I will also add a few strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. Almost forgot, a sprinkling of raw pumpkin seeds. Also a level Tbsp. of chia seeds. Haven't had the chia seeds in a while. For some reason, the pumpkin seeds don't seem to make a difference with digestion. Man, I also forgot I will have some cheese with my coffee. I allow more calories for breakfast than any other meal. Like 900 calories. I don't have this all at once. I have one cup of coffee then go do my morning round of body weight exercises. Then I have my second cup with the herring and then the cheese. I will break for a while and then have the cereal. Sometimes I don't get around to the cereal until quite late. If I'm doing cardio I do that before cereal. Then I am really late with the oatmeal. Like right now, it is almost 10:00 and I haven't had the oatmeal yet. More detail than anyone wants to know!

lani, Your pumpkin seeds reminded me that years ago on the old WW message boards members would post about putting canned pumpkin in their oatmeal when cooking it. It was a way to get more food for no points since it was a vegetable. I tried it one morning and my stomach knotted up so that was the only time I tried it.

bbbearsmom, oh dear. I used to try adding pumpkin to the cat's food to fill him up. Too much trouble. I am loving his new Hills Science diet food. So easy and he is gobbling it up.

lani, Many times I've been recommended to get the everyday Hill's diet for my cats but I've always been hesitant about switching their food. The two males do eat their dental food. It being a success with your cat I might consider it although I would have to use up all the stocked up dry cat food I have first.

bbbearsmom, can't judge by my cat. He will eat anything, and will chew on plastic if he's bored. (Doesn't eat it, just chomps on it, leaving it icky and full of little holes). He is the opposite of finicky. The Hills does take a prescription. The vet emailed me the link and I ordered some more on line. The vet sold me a bag of dry to get started with. I was going to go all in and get the Hills wet food too, but vet didn't have any, and it was out of stock on the Hills website.

lani , I had no idea that you actually had to have a prescription to buy it. I've always bought the dental food through the vet. I usually get the eight-pound bag and that lasts a long time so it isn't that big of a bother. Being finicky is what I worry about, especially the female. Oh, my female will chew on plastic at times. I had to hide the bags of food because "Little Guy" was tearing them apart and the cats were helping themselves.

bbbearsmom, the prescription is to order on line. I can just buy it at the vet. Yes, I have to keep the bagged food behind closed doors. My kitty started leaving some food behind and we thought wow, he's starting to self-regulate his appetite. Then I found he had gotten a hold of a bag of kibble, dragged it under the rolling clothing racks in the basement, chewed it open and was snacking at will. If I hadn't heard the rustling of the bag when I happend to be down there he probably would have consumed the entire thing. What a guy.

lani, I keep forgetting you have a basement. I'm not use to homes in California having basements because of earthquakes, or so I was told when I was younger and lived there.

I forgot to post. I was MIA due to the snow storm.
I have whatever the Mr. is serving. Usually it's: Oatmeal topped with sliced banana and 1/4 ounce chopped walnuts and 1 boiled egg, 2 eggs scrambled with diced onion and lox, or scrambled plain with a side of canadian bacon, fresh baby spinach, sliced tomato and two slices of light bread toasted or 1 light english muffin, toasted, 1-2 halos or 1C cheerios, 1/2 container of Premier Protein shake, 1 banana, or 2 Garden lite spinach-eggwhite frittatas, 1 light toasted english muffin, 2 halos, 2 4" buttermilk waffles (homemade then frozen) topped with banana slices or blueberries, and a dollop of Redi whip or sugarfree syryp with a side of turkey bacon. Always, there's 1C coffee brewed 1/2 caff/decaff, with SF french vanilla creamer.
