Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Joyce, hope you had a good/busy day at work.
Ruth, hope your temps make it to the 40s next week. That’s great the your DD can make you shirts to wear. I think that some of the problem with the carpet is that we should have bought something like a berber for the rooms, it is a tighter weave. How is the blanket going that you are working on?
Martha, hope you continue to feel better. Was it a flu or something else that you had?
Both Bill and I got our second vaccine shots yesterday and except for a sore arm we seem to be doing fine. When the installers left yesterday our place was a mess. They finished the living room and master bed room and started immediately taking the furniture out of the den and guest room. We asked them to put the furniture back in the rooms they finished but there is somewhat of a language problem. When they removed the carpeting in both rooms they had to put the leveling compound on the floors. Since it takes over 24 hours to dry they couldn’t come today but will be back tomorrow. We told them that our bedroom needed to be completed. Bill and I moved the small stuff in – night stands, lamps etc. They did that and then left. They called around lunch time today and wanted to come and finish the job – Bill told them no the floor was still damp and too soon to put the flooring down. We are going to talk to the sales person because this job hasn’t been up to what we expected, (the flooring job is very good but the rest of their work they are sloppy and have left marks on the walls – etc.). The company has done at least 5 other units in our building and everyone raved about the company – we don’t feel the same way.

Good early evening all. Joy, hope you had a good day at work and it was profitable for the dealership. Who did you work with today?
Martha, take care of yourself. How is Portland doing weather-wise now? Hope you have a relaxing weekend. {{{HUGS TO YOU}}}!!!
Dottie, isn’t that frustrating when they don’t do the things that you expect they are going to do? The last carpet we had laid in our main level family room had marks on the wall when they left. And we took up the old carpet first. Pulling nails on the stairs was hard!!! When they put in the hardwood in the dining room and re-did the entry way floor; they pulled the carpet and disposed of it and they had to pull up nails and all in the dining room. We will let them take care of it in the family room too. We were going to call the same company that did the dining room; but on one of the neighborhood sites there is a bad review of that company. Poor quality work and that was disappointing to hear. Not sure if it was just an unhappy customer or what! We may get 2 estimates. Another company that has been around for a very long time!
We are unhappy with the furniture store where we ordered the couch and bought the new recliners. They told us on 11/30 when we bought it all that the couch would be the first week of February. I called this week and was told it was now 4/30; possibly! Maybe into May! So we went into the store to talk to the manager yesterday. He says we can’t change the order because it was a special order. The only thing special about it is the throw Pillows that go on it. The fabric on the couch is just like the sectional that is on the showroom floor. We asked him about switching to a sectional and paying the difference between the two. We were willing to pay more $$ to them even, but no go! I mentioned I’m thinking about going over his head and moving up the food chain. Cathy V. suggested I explain to the higher up that we are willing to pay the difference. Because we all know that this far from a promised date, they haven’t even started making our order so it would not be a big deal to pull it. The store manager did take off the $120 delivery fee when we asked him what he planned to do to make it right with the long delay. He seemed to indicate that if it gets to be longer than 4/30 they “might” consider something else. If they are willing to do that then, why not now! We have no couch! Have pulled 2 other chairs into the living room.
We ran groceries over to DS’s house today and stopped at a small grocery store on the way home. It’s the one where we got the cod on sale for $6.99/lb the other day. We picked up cod for another meal tomorrow. Stan did it in the air fryer and it was so good.
Dottie, the blanket is about 14” long at this point. I’m aiming for 36” or 40” possibly. I picked up 2 extra skeins of yarn to be on the safe side. The rest of the yarn was left over from Mara’s blanket. I want to get it done and work on something else.
Laundry going. Need to go change it over and then going to heat up some soup for dinner! Late hockey game tonight and I’m already tired. Had a migraine this morning; took a while to get it gone. Left with just a regular headache! So tired tonight. Have a good one. More tomorrow!

Good morning,
Good day in work yesterday. Wasn’t as busy as last week but total of 17 vehicles were sold.
Tomorrow they are opening up scheduling at Walgreens and CVS so I’m hoping to get an appointment for the vaccine. DB is planning on waiting until DSIL can get an appointment too, she isn’t 65 yet.
Nice and sunny out today. I think a walk outside is on today’s agenda, get in some vitamin D. We’ll be in the upper 30s all week according to the forecast, that’s going to feel nice.
Laundry on today’s agenda too. Going out for dinner, too lazy to cook. Taking out pork chops to cook up tomorrow.
Dottie - sorry to hear the flooring project isn’t going the way you had hoped.
Ruth - that’s terrible about the timeframe for the furniture delivery . Keep after them, be the squeaky wheel.
Martha - hope you are feeling better.
I’ll check back later. Enjoy your day

Joyce, sounds like a good work day on Saturday. Hope you hear something soon about an appointment for your vaccine. That is nice that DB is waiting till DSIL can get her vaccine. Hope you have a good dinner out. Nice that your weather is warming up some, it is also supposed to be in the high 30s/low 40s at home this week.
Ruth, I know other people who are having problems with furniture delivery, but since the original delivery date was about 10 weeks out from the order you would think that was a good delivery date. Hope they can come up with a solution for you, keep us posted. Bill and I both enjoy cod, that is a good price for it. Your blanket sounds nice, it is going to be a nice size. Sorry to hear you had a migraine, I always called the headache I got after I had a migraine a “migraine hangover”. The “migraine hangover” wasn’t as bad as my migraines but still annoying.
Martha, hope you are doing okay and feeling better.
The actual flooring project is going okay, we like the tile we picked and the installation is okay. The main problem is the installers are very sloppy and not careful. Marks on the wall, scratches on our furniture, woodwork nicked and some of the new baseboard they have installed is sloppy. Bill and I have done some of the clean up each day. There are 12 bags of the levelling compound left over and Bill checked on line and the price is over $50.00 per bag, so we will get a refund for that. Bill let the salesman know that they need to be picked up before they get damaged. Only one installer is here today, I don’t know how he plans on moving the big furniture in three rooms. We can’t really help because Bill’s back is bad which is why we paid the extra $$ to have it all moved for us. I’ll keep you posted on that. DS#2 called yesterday to let us know that the post office is still delivering some of our mail, UGH!! He takes the first class mail out and mails it to us but again he shouldn’t have to do that. There was another small snow storm in our area at home over night (Friday night/Saturday morning). My son calls them nuisance snows because there isn’t enough snow for him to use the snow blower but he usually just sweeps the driveway, we don’t want people to know there isn’t anyone living there for the winter.

Good evening all. Finally got towels, sheets, and bathroom rugs washed. In the process of making the beds now. Have Stan’s done, now have to do mine. Need to give my back a rest. Sandy Levine was talking about getting the adjustable beds. Suggested to her if they could agree on raising/lowering at the same time to not get the 2 twins!!! Told her what a pain it is for sheets & making the beds! I’m trying the new flannel sheets I bought on my bed this time. Don’t know if I’ll find it too warm or not. And last night I decided to try the weighted blanket I had gotten Stan for Christmas. He hates it and says he feels like a prisoner, so I decided to see if I like it or not. I used it last night and it wasn’t bad at all. I also tried a different pillow and should only do 1 thing at a time. But overall, I think I slept reasonably well.
Dottie, the store is having a big seafood sale for a few weeks. They have member only specials (you sign up for free but get some good deals weekly) each week. This week one of them was the $6.99/lb cod. Going to pick up some to put in the freezer while it’s for sale.
How frustrating to have all that damage from these floor people! Scratching your furniture; not moving it like they are being paid to do; poor installation of baseboards; that’s all unacceptable. Can you get a supervisor of some sort in to look at the damages?
Joy, sounds like another good day for the dealership. I’m surprised your DB is waiting for DSIL to get shots. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞 and praying 🙏🙏🙏 that you can get signed up soon for your shots!!!
Hope Martha is doing well. And had a good weekend.
I need to get back to bed making. And see if the bathroom rugs are dry yet. In the dryer with air only so it’s going to take a while.
More tomorrow. Have a good night!
