We have second shot at a massive drive thru operation again Friday morning. They just announced Walk-ins! So now we will have people with no appointments to contend with? This when so many older folks cannot get an appointment? Last time it took an hour, not sure when we better get there this time.
Saw a post where people are fixing pipes temporarily with auto radiator hose and clamps because DIY stuff is out of stock.
Took a Tylenol with my morning coffee, waited an hour, made Sunday waffle , bacon and egg, and fruit breakfast (Eggo), then finished the shrub hole. Gratified to find the water filled hole had soaked in and made it easy.
So off to Home Depot for drip line stuff, misc hardware, and three bags of reddish brown lava rock..it isn’t as heavy for DH as regular chunk granite. I have a guy there load it for me. When DH used to be gone for a month in Berlin school with the his students exchange, I would cut the bag in half so I could do it or just remove parts bucket by bucket from the car. Think I will be doing that again.
Then off to nursery for petunias and an AZ yellow bells shrub. They get quite tall if you let them, prune well and have lovely sprays of yellow flowers all summer.
Got that planted, then rock down over a strip of garden on the back wall behind the east paver section. I just put pots of flowers on top as that area is full of tree roots and neighbors creeping ficus vine roots and sucks up all the water. The only thing that makes it is a tea rose that established well years ago.
So I have two big pots of red and white petunias and a small one of Europe’s daisy.
By the time I watered and cleaned it up, I was exhausted. Lying on bed melting into mattress with dog company. Good thing we have leftovers from last night.
