This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat. 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss Dvd" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable.
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me

Good Morning - grrr that my computer still wants to add extra extra spacing to everything I copied and pasted - so had to go back and EDIT and well, just a pain. LOL Sue - I admire you being UP and out the door already. With all that OT this past week I would have thought you would be dragging...we got more snow here. Still snowing. Saps all the motivation outta ya - I'm seeing that new term, "Snow Fatigue" or is it "Winter Fatigue"? I think the cloudy COLD days are doing me in - ugh - Today I plan to tackle those pesky TAXES - oh, and if this snow stops I might go back to the hardware store to see if they can lighten this new paint I bought for the bathroom vanity. I think it's too gray and will blend into the color of the gray walls! Think I might just go with WHITE and that way the vanity will 'pop' with brightness. I'm disappointed I can't start today as I mentally planned. I really need to finish the taxes and ONE more contract report. Carole - is today the day for winter maple syrup? Or is that in a few weeks yet? Did you get outside yesterday? I thought about going for a walk after groceries yesterday but I 'over did it' with my knees while at work. Yay to the extra steps, but boo to the increase swelling in my knees. Drats. Ehh, it's all good. Plus it was snowing and blowing and much colder out than predicted so staying inside was a good choice after all. LOL Any dinners with the family tomorrow? I thought it was Tim's birthday? Sorry if I'm way off... Jenny - So glad to see you could have the funeral and attend the burial. I think closure is important. Tell Kerry we are ALL sick and tired of the current situation too. He's not alone!! The COVID restrictions, the winter cold and snow, and all of it - it's hard. The good part of it all is we are HEALTHY and no one has a head cold or the flu - probably from all the mask wearing we do!! Oh, btw, did WWOW ever retire? Or is that at end of this month?? Shelly - good to see you popped in last night. I saw something meaningful posted on FB last night from a friend of mine - he's a college professor in Pittsburgh area - he showed a graph, the line looked really jagged (up, way down, steady, the spiked up) and said, "Sometimes this is what our BEST looks like". I loved it. Sometimes our 'best' is not nearly as high as the previous day's but it was still our Best. Something to think about

Gabrielle - I hope you get some time today and tomorrow to 'just be' and not super crazy busy. I think looking outside and seeing all our snow and ICE and snow on top of that ice reminds me to SLOW down. And to stop holding that bar of expectation so high. I had several zoom meetings this past week - fairly good information. Surprisingly, yesterday's zoom was our County wide Pandemic Coordinator's meeting and the main topic with all school districts' was TRAVEL. How to deal with families who plan to travel and refuse to quarantine upon return to our state? Most solicitors are advising schools that you can NOT force families to quarantine...it's a recommendation. Hmm. No word yet from the Prince about NWEA testing - I'm rather surprised he has yet to respond to my email question from 4 days ago. I'm glad I spoke to most of the teachers to give them a head's up.
Karen - ENJOY Charleston. I agree, your message to Anna was simple and full of love. Very thoughtful. Time for YOU to heal and let her figure this out. As a mother, you do wish her happiness. But yep, time to take care of YOU. ♥♥
Jo - sorry your MRI got rescheduled but it makes sense if they want contrast that they send you to the right facility. Is this for your arm? I had 2 MRI's done last year for the top of my feet and immediately followed by one for my left knee (the knee I thought was my 'good' knee). It was tough! I had to lie perfectly still for over an hour. I would NOT do that again! I didn't realize that was in store for me. But, I am glad to have the information those pictures provided - which means, yep, my left knee is a mess and really needs replaced, and yep, the tops of my feet are pulled and stretched ligaments and causing pain. With plenty of arthritis LOL - I have no idea what else to do about it. Some days are better but some are just plain achy.
Okay, time to get moving if I'm going to be productive. I hope everyone finds a way to be STRONG this Saturday - maybe Track, Plan and Move or focus on that one main project. STAY WARM out there!!

Good morning!
I am leaving in a bit to meet a couple of ladies for a not-to-long run this morning. It will be nice as the rain has stopped and the sun will be coming up. I don't know if you all saw the post but, on Thursday, my friend Julie and I saw the "train" of satellites in the sky -- the Space-X Starlink satellites.....it was really amazing to see! They have a tracker and I would recommend googling it and planning to try to see it---even if it is this summer. Such an amazing sight! The benefit of getting up at an ungodly hour and running in the 40 degree air by the river--nice and dark and always lovely.
Like most of you, so glad that today is Saturday and to have some down time. DH is doing a long run today so I will have some time to myself here at home which will be nice I think. Half of my office got their 2nd COVID shot on Wed/Thurs so I was the only one at the office yesterday--it was nice. I could leave my door open and not wear a mask! I love my team, but that was a treat.
I need to get my head back in the game this weekend...I have allowed myself to not be as attentive as I should be to planning meals, etc. A lot of projects, plans, etc. and feeling pretty overwhelmed with it all. This weekend will be good to regroup and get ahead of things. I plan to be in a better headspace come Monday.
So yesterday, CA announced that schools can offer team sports if the community positivity rate is under 14/100,000....OMG-- the world has been turned upside-down. School admin is dropping everything to get high school football off the ground. Oh boy....we'll see how this all goes!
Sue: Have fun at Colton's game--how great to have that this weekend after the cancellation last weekend---I am glad that Colton can be with this team. And it will be nice for you and Jason to watch! Does his girlfriend come to see his games? I know that, at their age, they have to probably get a ride from a parent. Hope that you have a good day today and get some well-deserved rest after all of your overtime. I am glad that your mom seems to be doing well (I had totally forgotten about her being in TX- yikes!) but I am sorry for the loss of more family members...thinking about you and your family.

Christine: One more report....this is the last one, right? I don't blame you for being tired of the snow and ice by the way---I do feel fortunate that we don't live just another 10 miles up the highway where they have pretty constant snow and ice---I am not a fan! It is cold today (about 33 degrees) but still not like the snow/ice situation. So DH has been told to take Glucosamine MSM for his joints -- he has been experiencing some knee pain and doesn't want to do surgery or anything. Have you ever taken it? The "MSM" is new to me, but I know people who have taken it for years and say it helps with arthritis, etc. I ordered it online. I just hate thinking of you being in pain--wish that I could do something to help with it. By the way, I am all for the white vanity! We did the pop of white on our taupy-grey walls (the trim) and I still love the look. Nice and clean too. What color is the new tub--white? I hope that you can get the paint and get that done--I know that you love doing things like that. Hope that your day is a good one and you feel like you checked a few things off of your list.
Karen: I do remember now you mentioning your colleague travelling with you ---and a full family too! Nice! Have a wonderful time
Jenny: So glad that the service went well an that there is the opportunity for closure for Kerry, his brother, and his dad. AND I am glad that you didn't have to travel to TX --- LOL, I did like the comment about Senator Cruz....never liked the guy and now one more reason to add to the list! Hope that you might get to your WW meeting today--you have been doing well! I am planning to sit in on the virtual meeting tomorrow--they added break out rooms last week so that, even though there are 500 people in the meeting, the breakout rooms are about 4 of us and it's nice! Hope that you have a good day--back to work for you next week It think?

Shelly: So the accountability partner idea for workouts sounds interesting! Is this someone you know? Just yesterday I was thinking back to when you had a friend that you met to go for walks and how much you enjoyed it. Who knows--maybe this can work for you? I hope that it does--it is hard to get motivated alone. I did realize that your friend passed three years ago and what I said still stands--I do think that, even though the time has passed, you can still harbor some pretty strong feelings ---I just wonder if it would help to talk to someone who listens and asks some good questions to help you through it. You are pretty hard on yourself! Thank you for your kind words--trust me, I DO have the bad days, the days where I am frustrated with people who I think should care more, and the people who don't seem to appreciate the things that they should (having a steady job, being healthy, access to good health care, etc)...DH has to hear about it, LOL. I am sorry that DH hasn't worked all week.....that must be stressful (and hard for him). Hope that you have a good day.
Jo: How did your week end? Okay, I hope?
Carole: So, do you have one or two little bodies at your house today? Oh, I would LOVE to have a routine like that! Jealous here!! Hope that this slower, less-planned weekend allows for you to feel rested and prepared for the week.....
Okay, have to get ready and head out. Have a good day! I just might pop in later---I think I will have the time! Have a good day!

Good afternoon! Just popping in to say hello! Sounds like everyone has been busy and is getting some time to unwind today. It's Greg's Saturday to work, so I did some shopping but just didn't have the heart to head to the mall even though I'm curious how things are going there. There isn't really anything that I need, but I do need to start thinking about what I might want to wear to a late June wedding. Their invitations just arrived.
The sun is out and it almost feels like a summer day compared to what we have had. I'm going to see if I can shovel up another "layer" of the ice/snow that's still in the driveway. But supposed to have a "wintry mix come through tomorrow night into Monday morning, but shouldn't leave too much behind as far as snow.
Waves to all! I think about you all even though I don't get here to post frequently.

Evening all. Sorry I didn’t stop in this morning but it’s hard for me to do much in the mornings here. DH is fixing a steak and stuffed sweet bell peppers. We’ve gotten to where we like those better than jalapeños. I worked until around 4 today. I think we will try and go to church in the morning if DH doesn’t work. Hopefully he will go back to work Monday. With the subzero temps they have shut down the wells DH would haul from.
Sue how was the games? Was today their final games of the season? I know the kids around her was in their end of season tournaments.
Christine oh those pesky taxes. I don’t even want to think about taxes. Good luck!!! Hope you are able to get to the hardware store and switch out the paint. Thank you for sharing what your friend posted ❤️❤️❤️ love it.
Gabrielle how was the run? Today finally warmed up into the 40’s I believe but with the wind it just felt cold. So I messaged the gal today that worked out with me and it doesn’t sound like it will be every day. Maybe 3-4 days a week? I was a little disappointed when she said that. But hey if it helps me to get into WO more consistent then we will try it out. Yes I wish I could still workout with my friend that used to go walking together but our schedules just doesn’t work well together.
Lisa good to see you stop in. I hope we are done with the winter weather for a while. I’ve had all the cold I can handle for a few days. I don’t mind some cold temps but what we had the last couple weeks was just too much. Hard on the equipment at the store. The compressors have a hard time when it is this cold.
Ok think I will sign off. I have been super tired the last couple days. Glad I am off tomorrow. Have a good rest of your weekend.
