Welcome to our 2021 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

Labor of Love NEW CHALLENGE February 14 through April 4
The word labor implies a specific task or effort, many times painful or arduous. A labor of love is doing something because you really want to, not because of any monetary reward you might get for it even though it involves hard work.
This challenge is all about a labor of love, reminding yourself to love yourself so it becomes your norm.
How often do we do something for someone else because it makes them happy and in turn makes us happy. But as the saying goes âhow can you love someone else if you canât love yourselfâ.
There are many ways we donât show ourselves love. We are harder on ourselves than on anyone else. We go over and over âwhy did I drink too muchâ and the ever popular "if I lost weight I would be so much happierâ. We are not showing ourselves love by overeating and over drinking, we are doing the opposite. To start, forgive yourself, or tell yourself yesterday is done, tomorrow isnât here, so letâs deal with the present.
We worry about so many things, things we have no control over. Resilience, happiness and freedom comes from knowing what to care about and what not to care about. Your health, your familyâs health, doing what works for your corner of the world. Let go of the things that do not work for you, help you, or encourage you. It is hard! You want to be a good person but be good to yourself first. Send out positivity but give yourself positivity.
We all have bad days, nothing goes right, nasty people out and about, stress levels are over the top and you have no control. This can be true in many ways but your control is to step away, love yourself.
Journal it, put it down on paper, and then let it go.
So each morning give yourself an affirmation. Here are some suggestions:
#1. I am worthy. #2. I am enough. #3. I am beautiful inside and out. #4. Even my âflawsâ have good and helpful aspects. #5. I love and approve of myself. #6. I am delighted with who I am. #7. I fully approve of who I am, even as I better myself. #8. I approve of myself and love myself completely. #9. I am happy in my own skin and in my own circumstances. #10. I am surrounded by love. #11. I am treasured for who I really am. #12. I am worthy of happiness and love. #13. I enjoy my own company as I get in touch with my true self. #14. I am at peace and happy when Iâm alone.
It may sound like Stuart Smiley but go with it!

Today is starting out chilly in the 20's, but sunny and is supposed to warm up to the 50's. We waited around for the roofer to show up yesterday, he never did. There is a leak on the back porch, probably from the chimney. I finally went out for a walk around 4:30pm, walked to the nature trail and did about half of it before turning around to come back home. The hill on my street is a killer! Should have taken my walking stick. I am glad to have finished the required part of the work project. I may continue to work on preference cards that need cleaned up. DS came for dinner, spent the night. I'm guessing he will not stick around for it to warm for our walk. I'll make up breakfast and we'll see.
Jan- WTG AF51, steps, AP, blue dot, no work treats. Enjoy your weekend off and working on the scrapbook. My daffodils are starting to sprout up.
GG- Glad it went well at the dermatologist and you are feeling less tired. Yay for seeing the deer- do they damage your bushes? Hope you can get out of jury duty.
Liz- Yay for getting an appointment for the vaccine!
Carole- Yay for being back home and dad doing well, being able to watch Ty's game online. Have fun skiing.
Cathy- Yay for the sun! We treat the tetrazzini as a main dish, it serves the three of us, with leftovers. A half box of spaghetti is a lot of spaghetti.
Cindy- Hugs! Hope you are warm and have power and water.

"I am happiest when I take care of myself first" Good morning, glad to have new points and a new week. I will see what the freezer holds and make some plans for this week. Didnât make my fitness goal for the week so will build in more activity this weekend to bank some fit points for days I just can't seem to get over 10. Also will find some kind of chili or soup to make up, I seem to do better at lunch when I have something LP available. Cold but sunny out today, may try an outside walk, or go to a big box store . Yesterday DH brought pink tulips home to add to my daffodils, look so pretty in the kitchen. Nick will be coming this morning at 8 to start âmuddingâ the drywall downstairs so we can paint soon. The crazy fisherman are all heading over to the lake, sturgeon spearing weekend, donât know how they do it, sitting out there on the ice all day. I am currently just in the techno frustrating circle of want to move money, they have an old phone number so canât send a message, called to change the number, canât use a New number to move money..blah blah blah. I swear Iâm going to take all my cash and put it under the mattress!! . Iâve promised myself that I will be off the screens today to get busy on one of my projects, either the scrapbook or starting a knitting pattern. Just hoping you can all have a happy Saturday. Jan GG. Glad the Dermatologist was nice and everything checked out. Sounds like youâre getting some better sleep with the meds. Have fun watching the birds!! Yay for getting on the list for a shot, sure you will feel so much better knowing you have been vaccinated before that baby comes along!! Check in when you can whether the mojo fairy has visited or not. Carole. Snowshoeing sounds so peaceful, glad you got to go. Where will you go skiing? Somewhere up here in Wisconsin? Sorry about the games being cancelled and hope you can watch the Mo ones on your computer. Glad Dad is doing well. Cindy. Hope all is well with you, check in when you can, hope you have power and water.. Amy. Glad you have finished what you need to do on the work project. Sorry the roofer was a no show, so frustrating when they don't even call. Hope you can get the leak fixed soon. Should be covered by the builder I hope. I just finished my puzzle and found that the cats have spirited away one of the pieces. It was new out of the box and I know one day they had messed around on the table and knocked a bunch of pieces on the floor but one is really hiding!! Maybe will force me to dust under all the furniture, ha ha. Can wait to just see the ground here let alone any flower bulbs. Enjoy your walk. Murphy. What's on your agenda for Saturday? You motivated me to go through some more clothes and books to put in the bag for the thrift store. Now if I could just stop buying things there when I go to drop off my own stuff! Time to get moving.

Hello friends! Iâm home! I started cleaning out the entertainment center, now I have stuff all over the floor and Iâm losing motivation. Alexis took books to a store, half price books and sold some. She got $29! I thought sheâd get $5. They sell CDs so I went through all of ours and will try to sell them there. Lex and I went to dinner last night and had a good time.
Amy, so nice DS comes to see you so often. Does he stay Saturday night usually?
Jan, Iâm going to ski at Wilmot Mountain, or giant hill! Iâm not sure where itâs at, only a little over an hour from here. Iâm so excited!
Cathy, your adventure skiing does not sound promising! Both DH and DD think Iâm going to hurt myself. I need to prove them wrong!!
Hello to all. Ellie, lexs shared dog with her old bf, is over. So fun to watch them play!

Hello All,
Still boiling water, so far no more rolling black outs. Sunshine today so more snow melted but parking lots are not good. Temps dropping for the night but hopefully not below freezing. We are really blessed. There are so many not doing well.
Will chat more tomorrow. Just tired.
Hopefully everyone is doing well.
Hugs, Cindy

Scale was up a bit this morning...fluctuations happen. Will be walking today but yesterday was too busy shivering as I washed dishes, pots, pans and plastic containers to walk, too. Talked to our daughter and hope to talk to our son and his family tonight. Still overcast...I am ready for spring
AMY: Thank you for the information on the spaghetti. The recipe said it was for six servings and that wouldn't be much food If you have it for three people then it would be enough...though higher in points. Did you son stay to walk or head out early?
JAN: The sun was not out enough yesterday BUT if not out enough today will turn on the electric heating element and take a shower no matter what! I am layered up with pajamas, robe and a bit wool cape-like thing with a hat and scarf. How much exercise/hours of walking do you have to do to get 10 points in a day?
CAROL: How did your daughter manage to get custody of the shared dog? I am sure you will do well with the skiing. I was heavier than I am now and fell head downhill so maneuvering to get situated to stand was...interesting. You work out often and are fit so should have no trouble skiing!
CINDY: It sounds horrible in the belt of freezing weather without sufficient electricity, water and food. I am glad you see some light at the end of the tunnel!
MURPHY: Glad you are doing well and that you checked in!
