I was at Macy's yesterday, looking for a new pair of jeans. I was looking at some designer ones and well what do you know? ...mom jeans are back in style apparently. What's old is, once again, new.
Excited for capris to come back in style.
That said, I have NO idea what is going on as far as 2017 wearable spring/summer fashions. I just wish we women could have some standard, non-judgmental styles that we can wear every year the way men have.
What are you wearing this spring/summer?

One of the perks of getting older is that I don't care what people think about how I dress NEARLY as much...so same old/same old for me....tunic length tops and sweaters (new colors!), leggings, skinny jeans...years might have passed, but I still need to cover my stomach and arms, and still have good legs. Nice that some things don't change.

I don't really pay attention to what is in "style". I continue to wear what is comfortable and works for me. So, for that reason, capris never went out of style.
I discovered I've been wearing the same summer clothes (as in shorts and tops) for years. And I mean the exact same pieces of clothing. I look back at pictures takes when we were on vacation in Hawaii from 5 years ago, and further back, and there I am in the same tank top and shorts.

Hi
Like a lot of the others, I wear what I am comfortable in. Capris are fun and that is about as far as I go in the new styles. I wear shorts around the house and yard. Capris and light weight pants in public. Tops are whatever's tricks me. I know a lot of people like skirts in the summer, I don't even remember the last time I wore one. Dresses now that is a totally different story. It has been at least 36 years. I don't think I ever wore a dress at my job.
Love some of the new colors. I seem to do colors for tops but stick to basic colors for bottoms.

i'm still wearing my "damn, girl, you need to drop your extra weight" clothes, even as it gets warmer. leggings pretty much everyday (unless i decide to do a skirt and tights). i did buy some new t-shirts from asos.com. i tried to find ones that would be slightly different than a typical t-shirt shape, but of course i really only bought white and black and one grey t-shirt. but the shape for one set of the t-shirts is a slightly longer hem in back and a wider neckline with baggier sleeves that i can roll up. so they are nice and loose, but seem to work well enough with my black leggings staples.

amy, guess I missed capris going out of style. Living in Florida, we seem to have our own agenda. Definitely, not the fashion capital if the world!

Linda, I think only a certain type of capris went out of style, but that was on the old boards. They were the baggier, hit you at the calf style. I loved how comfortable they were, but they weren't flattering for me (I now confess). Right now I'm wearing a lot of Lucy's, --like if I wear them enough suddenly I'll actually do yoga. (Ha! So far, I'm barely stretching in them) Otherwise, I'm in leggings or capri leggings with a loose tunic/short dress sort of shirt. It's been my dress of choice. I just want to be comfortable and feel like what I'm wearing is cute. This year I think I'm going to stick to the shorts i wore last year for casual and I think just lighten up the colors for the capri leggings and tops. Most of my casual is hiking gear and even my dressy isn't as dressy as business casual since I own my own business and no one looks up to me or expects anything fashionable from me. If I could I'd wear pajamas every day. Oh yeah, and no bra. Fin, what are your "damn girl! you look sexy!" clothes?

I'm in AZ and I think every woman over age 30 wears capris (outside of work).

The older I get, the less I care about what is in style. I try to go for things that flatter me and make me feel good.
I also hate when things are so trendy that you see it everywhere. My current annoyance is teal accent pieces in home decor (which I love, but hate that it's trendy).

i hate trendy too. i wear pretty much the same types of things everyday but with a tiny bit of a twist. my friend mark calls me a transient to be silly and my kids' dad calls it urban chic. i like things that are basic and yet not.

I have generally figured out what looks good on me by this point in my life and I go by that more than trends. Pants must be preferably bootcut, or at least straight (no skinny jeans!), with nothing cropped or capri. Tops need to show some skin, I can't stand anything up high toward my neck. I wear a lot of dresses for casual in the summer because I'm not a big fan of shorts. And of course I always prefer my heels to be high!
I have pretty much hated any clothes being sold the last few years other than true basics. Everything looks like a hooker, hippie or hag (i.e., too short and tight, long tablecloth looking stuff, or what I perceive as too old for me). I also hate that almost everything is sleeveless. I truly think that's a conspiracy to make us all have to buy a bunch of layers so that we're not constantly freezing.

I'm a pretty basic person. Jeans and a top. I almost never wear shorts- I get too cold. And capris just hit me wrong, I'm too short They either look like long baggie shorts, or floodwater pants!
At work it's all bout the function. I need to be able to chase kids, get on the floor if needed, and not ruin a $100 outfit if it get's thrown up on.
So basic color pants and simple tops.
No style queen here
