Good morning friends. Slept well...not long, but did wake up refreshed. Carl is going to BJ's today to stock up and I shall remain at home with miss LuLa. I am grateful that he will go solo. I do need to get there at some point for my eye glasses but that can wait for another day.
Pam happy for your day of walking and singing. Two of my favorite things to do. So sorry to hear of the passing of someone you knew. I hear your frustration with the library and also your wisdom in knowing that it's 'small potatoes in the realm of things' We shall both be guzzling the lemon water. Yesterday I did start but I was far too full to keep going! Today...IS a new day.
I have not 'stepped on the scale' but I know it's 'up there'. Back to basics today for sure.
Waving and will CBL

Happy to say that the 2 bday 'celebrations' added 1.8!!!! I am back at it today...not so much for the weight gain as the tummy issues. I feel better not overdoing it. In a perfect world I would have only celebrated once...live and learn Planned and tracked. Will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Sunday! We have beautiful sunshine this morning, though only 9 dg! I will bundle up later and take a walk. We are supposed to have clouds rolling in later, then snow tonight. I also slept well, but dreamed a lot this morning. I went to bed early (at 9) and slept until 7:30, so I must have been tired. I appreciate starting off a new week well-rested.
Ann ~ Glad you can stay home today. I plan to do the same. DH will do the Kroger shopping later today but my only venture out will be my walk. I am all too familiar with that "sodium bomb" effect, but also remember that it is as quick to go as it was to come. I also experience the tummy woes that comes with too much indulgence (which should help to remind me not to do it).
Pam ~ Thanks for the good laugh about DH and the Pooh mask. I will say, he wore it proudly! I had offered the Dr. Seuss one but he turned it down with disdain. There's no accounting for some people's preferences, is there? Of course, I would also prefer Pooh, so maybe it runs in the family?? I absolutely agree about "different strokes for different folks", though I did appreciate the cow comparison.
I received my new order of masks (5) and really like them. They have the nose wire to keep glasses from fogging up (even though I don't wear glasses) and adjusters on the ear bands. They are shaped more like clam-shell than my other ones, and I got black with white pin stripe, white with black polka dots, white with black floral, navy bandana print, and green Lucky Clovers mask (for St. Patty's Day). I now have quite a collection, but I keep one in my lunch bag and one in my purse, and a couple in my car. I also drop the one I wore to school in the laundry when I get home. I ordered DH a new set of 4 MSU/Spartans masks (with the double straps) that are due to arrive on Thursday. Then we'll both have old ones and new ones. Wouldn't it be great if this was the last time I'd have to order them?? They are coming down in price, though, as I got great deals on the most recent purchases.
Our pizza and salad were perfect last night! This morning we had toasted cinnamon swirl bread with bacon and a banana each (to finish them up). We also have a refrigerator full of left-overs now, but this morning I labeled a few of them and put them in the freezer. I also had to put away my new batch of veggie/bean soup. I poured each of us a cup before supper last night, and DH was smacking his lips and asked what kind of soup it was. I told him "WW Zero Point Soup" (in my tracker) and he was amazed how good it was! Tonight we are going to have Strawberry Waffles with turkey sausage patties.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue your masks sound darling and yummy on your food.
Yes the sodium bomb is the pits.
I just popped an OTC sinus headache pressure pill and will soon be on the bunny planet. Unfortunately that's the downside...
When I return to earth I'll hop back into the Cafe.
Enjoy your day friends.

Hey all,
Pretty and sunny today but very cold. I’m in for the day and managed to get some am chores done including laundry and scrubbing the kitchen floor. We moved all the furniture as we have a country style kitchen with a couch and TV and other furnishings. We love our doggies but they sure shed.
Pam, I would love to escape New England for a month or so in February when we retire. My two brothers do that in Naples and the Villages. I used to ski and x country ski and skate and that was great in winter but those days are over!
We celebrated Valentine’s again with an Italian dinner from Zitis—a great authentic place nearby run by a family from Calabria in Italy. DH wanted a cacciatore and I had homemade raviolis. I ate half and DH did too so wel’ll have leftovers today. I’ll need to push the lemon water too!
Sue, I loved the Pooh mask story too. My DIL bought me the nicest Carebear sweatsuit. It’s very soft fleece and all the older care bears embroidered. Lol I am also a Betty Boop fan! One fun thing coming out of this pandemic are the mask styles. Fashion accessories! I like the clamshell shape best, too. I wear the 3M N95 which are pretty boring but I have a couple pretty prints.
Ann, i’m glad you can skip the BJs trip. Sundays can be mob scenes. I’m living my new glasses so hope you get yours soon. 🤓👓👩🏫
DH and I finished season 2 of Sinner. We liked it a lot. I have a few new books from Overdrive so I have to get cracking!
I’ll check in later. Have a peaceful Sunday!

Hi Judy ~ Good to hear from you. I loved the Care Bear story! At one time I was a huge teddy bear collector. With the last move (to our condo) I got rid of a lot of them, but DH set up a "Teddy Bear Corner" in our downstairs family room and the collectibles and memory-keepers all found a home there. I also think it is fun getting masks that have some personality to them. Your V'Day dinner rerun sounded delicious! There are some dishes that we just have to plan on and then enjoy! Actually, this past year we've had to take our pleasures where we can find them. Fortunately, we know how to do this .... eating half of a meal is one very good way. DH used to eat every bite, but even he brought home half of his fish 'n chips Friday night.

I slept most of the day and feel a bit better. Headache is almost gone and I'll take it.
Sue you are onto something...I too will not go without foods that I really crave and want. I simply TRY my best to pay attention and quit when I have had enough. I'm not fond of that bloated feeling.
Judy Carl said that BJ's in Leominster wasn't that bad at all. Maybe it was the time he went...who knows.
Waving and may or may not check back later.

Hi all,
Hope you feel better Ann. Glad you napped.
Sue and Ann, I appreciate hearing you say there are meals and foods you will not do without. It was perfect timing. During my Zoom WW yesterday, there is one enthusiastic and chatty member who is something of a zealot about tracking and only eating exactly what she thinks she should. It’s obviously very successful for her as she’s lost a lot of weight lately. I think it’s great that she’s able to do that all the time but I felt she was critical of those who aren’t as strict. Yesterday she kind of went on a rant saying she has no patience for people who aren’t losing because it means they aren’t doing the plan correctly. All I could think about is that I am determined to make sure my eating plan is sustainable and something we can live with for a long time. You guys on lifetime do exactly that! When I see people too inflexible , I worry they will burn out. Just my thoughts for the day and I’d love to hear yours!

Judy I never did anything while losing weight that I could not do forever. When I attended meetings Thursday was my day off as well as a supper of my choice on Sunday. The rest of the days I followed as best I could using the GHG's as my guide. I joined weight watchers late 60s and took off my weight by the time I graduated high school. I reached lifetime a few times as I would periodically stop going to meetings. At that time I needed them to keep myself in the game. With all the times I quit and rejoined I never gained it all back and would be free again within a month.
I guess what I'm trying to say is not knowing that gal I feel like she feels the need to preach perfection. I would take what she's got to say with a grain of salt.
Back when I first joined leaders and coaches were called lecturers lol. They spoke, you listened and everyone had a chance to speak. I only attended very few zoom meetings and was not impressed. The coach had a one on one with 2 other members and that was it.
I got off track here lol and sorry for that. Feeling better just not up to par.
Hope you can get something out of my musings 😎

Yes, Ann, you helped a lot and hit the nail on the head. If someone told me I had to be perfect, I’d never have joined. I think your right that some folks are all black and white. I try to do the best I can and I know I’ll get there eventually by plugging along and tracking as much as possible but living in the process. There are some very rigid folks in my group. Our leader is great though. Thanks, Ann. As always you have words of wisdom. Love the Ann way!

Happy Sunday!
After Mass this morning, Debbie and I walked. Her hip has been bothering her and my neck/shoulder pain came back last evening, so we didn't push it, but still walked over 3 miles. We got chased by a dog that snapped at Debbie yesterday. Luckily, the owner's sister heard the dog and called it back, but it took several tries to actually corral it. She said she would tell her brother and I said, "Good, because I am calling and filing a complaint." Enough is enough. And the dog obviously recently had pups. He has a sign up for "8 Free Puppies". Some people don't deserve to have animals.
I made a Walmart run to pick up meds and groceries. I found most of what we wanted but noted the bread and milk aisles were still nearly empty. I'm guessing they are still suffering from the icy weather highway shutdowns, which would have affected deliveries.
I cooked sausage patties, scrambled eggs and toast for a brunch for DH and I. I also had a banana. That kept me full until about 3:00 when I had some cheese and crackers. Now DH is cooking rellenos, chicken taquitos and Mexican rice for our dinner.
I started laundry today, since I had some small, delicate loads with sweaters, etc. I also taught a baptism seminar this afternoon and by the time I finished, my neck and shoulders hurt so bad I could barely turn my head. This is the 4th time this has happened, but this time is the worst. I can barely move my head, so I am pretty sure it is a pinched nerve. I will make a doctor's appointment and hope he has an answer. I am sitting with a heating pad as I type this and took a full anti-inflammatory pill instead of my usual half. I didn't sleep well last night and it's not looking like tonight will be better.
Ann - All my sodium sent the scale up 2 lbs. I have tried to get more fluids in today to counteract it. I am with you on eating what I love. I hope the sinuses clear up soon!
Judy - I am another who refused to give up any food I love to lose weight. I just don't think that is a sustainable way to do it. I prefer to manage amount and frequency and that has worked well for me, even with some days that I throw caution to the winds. I believe that even when I get off track, I am still eating less than I would have in the past. Each person has to learn what and how much they can eat and lose and sometimes that takes a while. I would certainly never criticize others who are still trying to find the right path for their WL journey.
Sue - Sadly, most of my masks are either plain white or plain black. I long for the day we can ditch them altogether. Anyway, you are out and about more and I'm sure the kids like the book characters.
I'm going to watch a little tv and probably head to bed early even though I am not sure how much I'll sleep. I'll be back!

Happy I could be of some help Judy. What good is living if ya can't splurge every once in awhile.
Pam I agree...even when I do go off it's nothing compared to the way it was before weight watchers.
I hope you sleep better. Nothing worse than muscular pain.
Going to read a bit.
See ya'll in the am.
Pam some folks just aren't cut out to be pet owners!!! Things like that just make my blood boil.
