This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat. 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss Dvd" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable.
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me

Finally got the first post done...first had to edit it to get rid of the extra spaces and I accidently deleted Gabrielle's #2 goal! UGH!! So then had to go back and recopy hers and add it back in but then of course had to edit those lines AGAIN to get rid of the extra lines so now it looks pretty and complete....
Be back in a bit....need to get the White Chicken Chili going in the crock pot!

Good morning Sue ~ Simple Sunday - Yes, afraid it will be as simple as can be! Feeling out of sorts (again) and not sure what to DO about it! Really - REALLY want to just GO - DO - SOMETHING... but nowhere to go, and truth-be-told, no ambition to get moving TO go anywhere! UGH, winter "blues" I'm sure... add to that the Covid "crap"... and yeah, I am just a mess over here!
I will get "out" at some point, have to head back to HD and return the DR Rug we picked up yesterday. Just not what I want/was expecting. Will need to look IN the store to find something better. But that feels more like a "chore" than a chance to get out!
Meanwhile- I am not here just to whine and complain... so let me go back a few days to catch up!

Karen: {{{{hugs}}}} I know by now you are away on your wonderfully WARM and positive weekend ♥ but know I am thinking of you. As for Mr. Ackerman... HA! I think if he asks how you are, your reply should be "we're working on it"... that's the party line, right? OMG I am so angry FOR you! Angry with your DD, and her DH(by now) and the principal... UGH So sorry you have to bring in the teacher's union, but yes... do what you need to do... to be safe in your work place. Sound selfish? NOWAY GF, it's called self-care/self-preservation... LET THEM GO - if you can... I know easier said than done, but DARN I wish I was able to be there to give you a gigantic hug from an OLD friend.!
Sue: YAY for a fizzled storm... ours too really. I moved maybe 2-3" and then it was just another 1" maybe... OK BY ME! Yesterday was SUNNY and 33 degrees... patio is pretty much all melted off - even the driveway is melting nicely! Sorry you all can't be together to celebrate Colton's BD today.
So your air fryer... could it be used for "toasting" a muffin? LOL I know, sounds weird, but when we have a muffin, Tracy likes her toasted as in a toaster oven, rather than microwaved... so wondering about an air fryer that would also "toast"! ??
LOL Since Jaclyn went GF, I only use corn starch to thicken my gravies now, so I just use a small measuring cup - but I saved on gravy shaker - Just.In.Case.!
UGH Sounds like a lot of OT and it continues into this coming week? OMG Your Tonya is EXACTLY like my Kaitlin! UGH SO FRUSTRATING! Yes, she always says she is multi-tasking, ummm, nope... she isn't... not when she is sitting in her chair and Jess is sitting right next to her and they are huddled together in whispers.

Oh TGIF was a LONG, ICKY day here!! We got Eden Thursday afternoon - then the snow storm wasn't too bad after all. I had forgotten about my "training", so when I suddenly remembered, Tracy was not up yet - and Ken was heading to work, so I called my sister, and then drove Eden down there for the day! Tracy wasn't happy when she came down, that I had taken Eden "away" from her for the day - but good thing I did! UGH Tracy spent most of the day in bed - just wiped out - I assume from her 2nd vaccine - but I had that 4 hour Zoom, so I could NOT have watched Eden too! When they broke us off into our smaller "break out" groups, my chat wasn't working - so the first 2 "interactions" didn't really happen! Before the 3rd one they had me also call in on my cell phone, so I could do audio on the phone while watching the video on the computer! UGH! What a PITA! If it happens again, I will log on through my home PC or my tablet! Oh and midway through (at some point) I lost my connection, so had to go through the whole "join the meeting" all over again! too many "challenges" for a Friday morning! Anyway... got pretty much caught up on my day. I did do a few things during the training, since I was not on video - I figured I'd "multitask" so I didn't have quite as much extra to do in the afternoon!
Sue: Thanks for starting us off on Friday - with such a nice message! YES WE MADE IT through another week. Yes it had it's challenges but we did it!
Karen: WHINE WAY my friend... we are your safe zone ♥
Christine: YAY! Thanks for that validation for our Karen ♥ YAY for taking a day off from report writing or tax prep... you deserve a quiet morning with us once in a while! I honestly cannot imagine being in a room where no one speaks my language - I get stressed at the nail salon! LOL YES, we started with a warm up yesterday - and today appears to be another. (already 25 degrees and sunny) Tomorrow may be a stormy day - not much accumulation, but just messy. THEN however - we move up to the 40s! I cannot even believe it! Oh dear... hoping you can figure out the tax situation. I don't think Ken has done much more on ours recently.
UGH Yes, wait for the Prince to copy & paste... so you know DL is behind his reply... what a TWIT! WOO HOO to your Linds! We all knew she could do it - YAY Mom for helping with your gentle nudges along the way!!
Yes, thank you - such a great message to care for ourselves, and STOP beating ourselves up over things that (in the end) do not truly matter! For me, I will shake off this impending DOOM I feel each day.
Jo: Sorry for the sleep issues and that your MRI was postponed! Ya' would have thought they would have though of that before scheduling?
Gabrielle: LOL Yeah DIET would have been so much more to think about! I was fine with my being able to view them, and them not being able to see (or hear) me... I could use the chat - but then in the smaller groups it just wasn't working! Oh well, I completed the mandatory training, and by the time we do the follow up I will know to log on differently or it will be in person! I kind of fell into some snacks that I shouldn't have... along with the fresh veggies and measured dip - I was not hungry for lunch, as I had snacked through the training. I did get up and out after the training ended... I walked around the patio - pushing/shoveling snow for 20+ minutes. I needed the fresh air - and the moving. Thank you for your kind words.
Karen: You are such a good Mom, sending your DD your love and prayers.
Gabrielle: I too am thinking of NC in Spring 2022! Glad you were able to schedule your mammo so quickly! I am scheduled for JULY 28! Hoping you have made some lists and/or progress in planning the upcoming week and projects - I trust you have regained your "self-control"!
Jenny: {{{{{hugs}}}}} so glad everything went well for the final good-byes. YAY to the neighbor coming over to help clean up the limbs. Yes, one less thing on Kerry's mind.
Sue: So sorry for the loss of your aunt and uncle. So difficult to lose both parents pretty much at the same time. We lost my Dad in September 1980 and my Nana in October - same year. It was a tough road for sure {{{hugs}}} So glad your DM didn't lose power - and she has gotten her first Covid shot! Hopefully DB Jim has a generator? I gotta tell ya', I keep seeing the one advertised on TV - then I see a neighbor HAS one - I am so very intrigued!
Karen: YAY for being away - and a boat ride... question for you - do you all have the travel restrictions in NC? Will you have to "quarantine" or get a test upon your return?? Just curious, as different places have different protocols.
Shelly: WOO HOO for starting a BB WO program! I follow a friend on FB, and she shows us her WO videos each and every day. She is a BB Coach. Good for you - and I hope you enjoy them enough to make the WO a priority. I know you will feel better when you have that Wo to look forward to each day.
So excited for DS Tyler, and making the move away from the "safety/comfort" of the ranch! HUGE move for him and his family {{{{hugs}}}}, can't wait to hear how they do with it all!

Morning Carole...glad you popped in! I loved the sledding pictures from yesterday! Looks like the girls had a great time!
White Chicken Chili is in the crockpot...will make the HB eggs and Sheet Pan dinner later in the day....will make the sheet pan meal for dinner tonight so will start getting that together 4-ish or so....depends on when Jason eats his meals today....I'm planning on a 5pm supper for me so he can plan accordingly. Time be back track a lot of days to catch up....I've been here most days but only to pop in!
Gabrielle...will say the thought of testing online with Webcams seems like a whole lot of hassle and headaches to me!! Yes, the Marketplace on FB is a great way to get rid of things...that's how all our old furniture found a home and where we bought our living room sectional!!
Jenny...so glad you are finally back with us! We missed you! The weather has been so nasty this year around he entire country it seems. How long was your power off?? My brother Jim in TX was out for 30 hours. I can imagine Kerry was bummed w/o cable but at least you had movies to watch! LOL, I googled Dallas and saw there was one in OR! WOW, 70 years of marriage is a long time, it 's normal for DFIL to struggle when making the arrangements. So glad he was happy with the way she looked. Loved the picture of her you posted....she looked like a happy, funny lady!! Sorry the interment had to be postponed due to the weather. At least you got to hold the service and start to find closure.
Carole...sales pitch presentation sounds like a waste of time for you but like you say....you do as you are told!! Well, not sure how much OT I will be getting this week but at least I got some good sleep this weekend, 2 nights of 8-9 hours of "good sleep" for me...yes, that is just how exhausted I was by Friday night! I will be heading in early tomorrow but not sure what after that.... Hopefully it didn't take too long to get all caught up with the settlements after the long weekend! LOL, thank heavens for no camera or microphone so you could "move" instead of just sit for the presentation! YAY for no snow to push....we didn't have much but it was more than anyone wanted at this point! I love broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, etc on my salad....makes it more like a meal than just a salad! Fun to have the little "extras" on your usual salad bar!! Will be anxious to hear how Ken and Tracy feel after their 2nd shots....
Carole/Christine...I think we are all feeling the "winter blues" and add the COVID crap on top of everything, many are depressed, anxious and feeling hopeless. I know both Jason and I are feeling worse this winter than we usually do because we can't just "do as we want" yet. We all need to just hang in there a little bit longer and hopefully the vaccines will start to roll out and we can start to put all this madness behind us! I have been grateful for Lacey and her "safe" place to enjoy something "normal"....but even then, I long for the days of a FULL room of happy painters and not just the handful we have now....since she has to limit the group size, we are all missing some of the usual painters that we would see...not part of our group but still attend several and they are familiar faces that we miss!
I actually have a ZOOM paint night this coming Friday and have signed up for 2 in March...the "Spring Truck" that I will do with Sarah and then another round one with a bunny and flowers for Easter/Spring. It's adorable, a little 'bunny butt' and cottontail!
Shelly...so glad you are getting a chance to join us again!! Please, never stay away because you feel like you are just "unloading" on us...we all have those times when we are so overwhelmed and need a place to let it out....we are always here for you! Step back, regroup and you will get back on track! Your tracking might be lacking a bit right now, but your food choices are decent so that's a good thing....baby steps back!! You know, we have all been in those "down moods" and I know I don't want to be on meds, but I have been several times over the years, just to "get me over the hump" to a place where I can deal with things on my own. It doesn't make you weak or a failure....depression is like diabetes, sometimes medication is needed to control the condition but like diabetes if you can control your diet and exercise you may not need that medication forever....anti-anxiety/depression meds are the same way! Just give it some thought before you make a final decision! Hugs to you my friend!

Christine: Thanks for starting us on STRONG Saturday. I missed it! LOL In more ways than one!
We ended up having both girls overnight Friday, so Saturday started at 6:20 AM, with BOTH of them getting up early. I had mixed up donut batter Friday night, so Saturday morning we were going to cut them and cook them. HA! They bailed - baled? Hmm, anyway, they didn't want to help after all! LOL It's all good - sometimes it's easier to just do it myself? Eden enjoys my donuts - Zoë, not so much! LOL Even with chocolate frosting - she ate the frosting off it! Anyway - everyone that got donuts were very happy... the good news is - I DO NOT EAT THEM! LOL I eat a donut hole every now and then, but most of them went home with Eden - her own bag, so it's OK.
We did take them to McDs for lunch! Just a treat for them, and they had played good together all morning. We were outside for over an hour! They were sledding and "exploring"! LOL They were following bunny tracks in the snow, and went "deep into the woods".... LOL Yeah, NO, deep into the woods (to her) is actually in the small pine trees just past our pool! But hey they were on an adventure! Anyway, McDonald's is still a drive through only, so we ate in the truck - but parked in the sun. They were happy - and I tracked it all... Still.No.Salads.! So my weekly points (between Friday and Saturday) are pretty much gone already - new week started Friday! LOL SO gotta keep myself more in line this week!
Tracy & I then went to BJ's stocked up on ground chicken - boneless chicken, and grabbed a couple nice looking steaks. Next we hit HD, curbside p/u of the rug - then home.
I took a glass of wine upstairs in the afternoon and just vegged in front of the TV watching a movie I had on DVR.
While Tracy was cooking, I moved furniture, then when Ken got home he helped slide the DR table into the LR so we could lay the new rug - I HATE IT. It looks more green than grey, but also it's not a normal rug? I had no idea it was just a cotton throw rug, that they recommend NO VACUUMING! UGH! I do not want to buy a carpet sweeper to clean a rug that I don't even like! LOL It is flimsy enough that just trying to pull my chair in to the table, the rug scrunches up and UGH just not going to work! So, now we have to slide the table back out and pick it up/roll it up, re-package it and return it! Just a PITA! But I guess it gets me out of the house for a while!
Christine: YES I agree, copying & pasting our start up paragraph is most definitely a pain! Every time I put in "REASON" Spacing was messed up again! Oh I do hope you get some warmer temps and sunshine this week.
Good luck deciding on paint for the vanity. I agree a nice sharp WHITE will look great in the gray bathroom.
No, we are thinking of a sugar eat in mid-March I guess. Have to time it with the sugaring season - and Tracy's schedule, and the snow! IF our snow begins to melt away - we will go to the woods to retrieve enough snow to serve the "sugar"! No more birthday dinners here until May, Memorial Day weekend, for Jaclyn. Timothy is in July, he's part of my TWO WEEKS of BD MADNESS in June/July!
Leave it to the Prince to not respond at all! DL must have not had time to write an email for him! Yes, glad the teachers will be on board for ya'! Hmmm, wish my work was a "recommended quarantine" - but alas, mine is MANDATORY! So sorry your pain issues continue - arthritis is a tough one!
Gabrielle: WOW The whole team got shots at the same time?? Hoping they are all well and good to be back Monday! YAY to being able to just work in peace and quiet with the door open! Good luck with the schools and getting football going again! Did you get to your "meeting" yesterday?? I keep looking at the coaching schedules - someday I will find one that I actually sign into!
LOL Be careful what you wish for... I love my girls, and having them here - but somedays, I am just plain wiped out when they leave! By the time we get them home and then I get back home myself - I feel DONE for the day!
Lisa: WOO HOO for starting to think about a summer wedding!! Imagine, the sun- the fun ♥
Shelly: Oh I am hoping you and DH got to go to church this morning. Also hoping that Dh gets back to work this week!

Sue: Oh dear - sorry the starting of the thread is not as easy as it used to be!
Yes, the girls do enjoy being outside - and I know it's good for them too! What is your sheet pan dinner tonight?
Oh, no side effects at all for Ken from his 2nd shot. He did feel achy in his bad knee - I thought it was coincidence, but he attributed it to the shot! LOL Apparently his info sheet SAID "may feel ache in joints"... whatever. Tracy's only side effect was totally exhausted and ended up sleeping most of the day Friday. Her shot was at 8 AM Thursday. So all is well in the Covid world for them I guess!
So glad you have more paint nights planned. I'd love to be able to get out and do that again. Heck I just want to be able to get out and do SOMETHING again!
OK I have been lazy here long enough I guess. I need to get ready to pack up this darned rug and get it out of here! Since we are up to 29 now and sunny, it will actually be a good day for a ride! At some point I need to make a shopping list - so Ken can get some groceries tomorrow, when he takes my car in for oil change. It will keep him out of the house for part of the day too!
I may be back later... who knows where this day will wind up! ♥hugs♥

Good morning! I am on the Tony W workshop (they are just checking in right now--now really on the topic yet). This workshop gets a steady 500 people every week...pretty amazing. I do like that they do breakout rooms at the end though. Last week it was only 4 of us and it's nice to hear what others think, about their success, talking through challenges, etc.
The long run (that wasn't very long yesterday) was fine. It was a perfect time for a run--the rain had just finished, sun was peeking out from behind the clouds, cold but clear...a nice way to start the day. I also was SUPER good about tracking yesterday as I know that I need to focus on that. Today I will set my goals for the day (like I have been doing) and will balance my work-work and the things that I want to get done to feel ready for the week ahead--that has been a good new thing for me.
Sue: So glad that you are getting your down weekend after such a tough, long week! And that you have more paint nights coming up--nice! With Daylight Savings around the corner, it will be lighter when you go to your painting sessions--a nice change I would think. Did I miss it? How did Colton's game go? Can't believe that he is 12 already--happy birthday to Colton. Sheet pan dinners are such a great option--maybe I will add one of those into my weekly dinner plans. Have a good day!

Carole: Good to see you -- and sorry about the rough Zoom on Friday. I wish I could say that this hasn't happened to me. I guess that I do so many of them, I just don't let it get to me. It really is frustrating though! Oh, hope that Tracy is better today? It really could be from the shot--glad that Ken was okay with it though. My Deputy Supt had his second shot on Friday and no side effects...so, you never know! LOL about Ken and the knee pain--who knows what causes our knee pain!! I am wondering if it is time to just plan some drives on your weekends? Just driving somewhere! Maybe listen to a podcast while you do your drive and feel like you are feeding your soul and just seeing something new? Sometimes I leave here and just drive--just for the scenery. Yes, every day is a new day---in addition to the new week! I saw the picture of the donut decorating and it looked like fun...it is all about the frosting and sprinkles, right? LOL...you are a super grandmother for planning these things for them--memories they will recall and remind you of Hope that you have a good day, my friend.

Lisa: So good to see you yesterday and HOORAY for planning on the wedding and the MOG dress!! Hey, be careful out there when cleaning away the snow--no slipping! We always love to see you --- always feel like you can check in whenever!
Shelly: Oh, I was so glad to read that you left work at 4:00 pm....at least a LITTLE early--maybe next time chip away and make it 2:00 pm? I also hope that DH has work next week--hope that the extreme cold breaks and you can move on. Hey, I think that the partner for the gym 3-4 days a week is perfect. It might be a bit challenging to go from zero to 5-7 days per week, don't you think? It sounds like a great start and I really hope that it works for you. And good job on the BB workouts! I do remember you telling us about Tyler's new job--so exciting! i didn't realize about the housing though--how nice for them to look forward to buying their own home. So happy for you and for them. Hope that you got to church today and have some time to yourself today.
Hello to Christine, Jenny, Jo, Karen, and all who follow. I need to focus on getting my meal planning done, grocery list complete, and planning done for today. Might check in later? We will see. Have a wonderful Sunday and keep it simple and relish the success in doing that!

OH, PS-- Carole: Yes! You can toast anything in the air fryer. You would maybe want to flip it over half-way through (if you like it toasted on both sides). I get it -- I prefer things toasted too...it is my need for "crunchy"!

Gabrielle...thanks for starting us off on Thursday! Yes, being thoughtful is a must and it is not always about lunch, breakfast, exercise but the little things like kindness, empathy, consideration, etc and that means toward ourselves, NOT just to those around us. So many times we can say kind things to others but then beat ourselves up for the same thing we were encouraging others to get through! Glad you got out for a nice run after a day being cooped up inside! My brain would be ready to explode with all those ZOOM meetings! Sorry you weren't able to stand for part of the evening ZOOM....glad you have the standing desk to give you a break!
Carole....love your attitude toward the "blip"...yes, if we focus on the good things that we did, the way we feel and not just jump right to the negative we will stay in negative and that is never a good place! Hope you were able to get a bit of movement into your Thursday! Yes, ours was a VERY long storm....4:00am on Wednesday until 12:00 noon on Thursday and we only got about 4"! Just a nuisance to deal with all day and unfortunately, the squalls and bands came at the worst times of the day! WOW, that Diversity training sounds long and boring and with no real participation on your part...YIKES! Will be a long morning for you!
CAROLE, YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE UP THE THREAD!! We are all here for a reason and I know too that I NEED all of you.....even on those worst days I know I have a place to come that is like home, safe, loving and welcoming!
Exactly Carole...while you are at the same weight as 10 years ago...you ARE at that same weight and not higher! While it is not what you hoped for there is good in that realization!
Shelly....glad you got to pop in during your morning! I understand you not wanting to feel "no emotions" but maybe if you talked to your doctor about it he/she could chose something different that didn't make you feel that way. I know when I was on them I still felt all the emotions, they just didn't overwhelm me as they were w/o the meds. There are so many options out there so many there is one that is a better "fit for you" to get you over the hump this time?? I can totally empathize with you on the feelings of anger toward your friend for making the choice of alcohol over everything and everyone else. I still struggle with that with DS Kris...yes, she is sober now, I think, but still blames everyone else in the world for her life as it is!! She has never, and probably never will take ownership to the choices she made along the way that lead to her losing her children, losing everything, losing her nursing license....it has been everyone's fault but hers! My DM is that same way....it's hard but your feelings are justified and maybe with some help of meds, maybe some counseling you can work through those feelings and let some of it go!
So glad you survived the freeze w/o any ice! I'm sure the freezing fog was enough to make it a bit slick. Sounds like you didn't lose power even with the heavy power lines! YAY for warming temps coming your way....after tomorrow's high of 39° we have all 40's and 50's coming our way too...all our snow, except for the huge piles in parking lots from plowing should be gone by the end of the week! YAY!!
Karen...such sweet thoughts and comments you just shared about all of us here! Yes, these people are so special to me as well...we all bring something different to the thread and each is just as important as the next! ♥♥♥
Glad you did not have to return to school this week....virtual "ice day" and then a sub on Friday....perfect to be away from the volatility and negativity at school. Yes, it makes me sad that Anna didn't even acknowledge you with a nod or a smile....yes, I do think she is lost and clinging to what she thinks is "home". What she has yet to learn for herself is that parents make mistakes but do the best we can...when our kids are older, we have to find the new balance/boundaries and sometimes we are not great at that for a while but shutting out the family that has loved her and cared for her is not the answer.....talking to each other, working through the struggles together is what makes the family stronger and keeps them together. You, Tony and the rest never turner her away and we all know that with some work, some discussion, some compromising you can come back together and will always welcome her back. Your counselor is right.....letting her go for now is what she and actually you need but staying kind and staying on the "high road" when it comes to Anna will show her that your love has never waivered and she is always part of your heart!
WOW Karen...just read about what happened last Friday....I have no words!! Glad you got away to try and clear your head and that you stood your grounds that you are maintaining professionalism, keeping your distance and doing your job. I'm thinking the "suck up mode" was after realizing and maybe hearing from others that what he did was WAY OUT OF LINE and that you are there to do your job, NOT make drama....THAT is on the other two!! So glad you are reaching out to the union. Enjoy your weekend in Charleston! We took cruises out of there several times...a really fun place! No, you are not whining....while my struggles with Sarah over the holidays was NOTHING as toxic as what you are dealing with with Anna, I know the struggle as a mom, trying to do the right thing and our children lashing out....thankfully Sarah has begun to come around and things are getting better between all of us....I pray that in time that too will come for you and Anna....time when you and rebuild your currently fractured relationship!
Christine....yes, AMBUSH is just the word I was trying to find!! Glad Linds finally got her unemployment, bummer Carly is still fighting for hers! What a pain in the tush!! Sorry your taxes are not looking good for this year....is anything different this year that you will be paying in so much???
I did our taxes yesterday when we got back from Colton's basketball game....we had a couple hours to kill between games so I figured I'd get started. Well, I had just about finished when we needed to leave and the damn PC froze....it happened to me one time many years ago and I thought all was fine and things got filed, only to get a letter from the IRS after "tax day" saying we had never filed and were being charged $250. So needless to say, I sent Jason to Kellen's game alone so I could make sure it all got settled....took about 40 minutes until I got it finished and got word that both Federal and State were filed successfully. When it happened the last time, I called the IRS and explained what happened...they waived the charge ONE TIME so I didn't want it to happen again as the "forgiveness" would NOT have happened this time. Even got the local taxes done so that is finished for another year! We will be getting a $19 refund from Federal and have to pay $106 to the state....they took federal taxes off my unemployment and the 1st annuity payment but NOT state so I had to pay state taxes on them. Not so bad! Local is always a break even.
Christine...so glad you have a good core of teachers willing to embrace the testing project! Yes, that was definitely a "back handed compliment" from the Prince....I'm convinced now that that man will NEVER get a backbone and stand up to DL....she is such a master manipulator!
Great news for Linds...I'm sure getting it done and getting the good grade does wonders for her mood and mental attitude! WTG Linds! So glad she is continuing to reach out to you and Carly for support!! That's awesome! WOW, just read about your DM antics after Bonnie left her some $$ when she passed away....SNH, why would she do/say things to just create hard feelings??? OMG...what kind words from the staff Psychiatrist to the mom...so right, take time for ourselves and the fact that he/she reassured the mom that her child was safe and it was OK for her to take care of herself is wonderful!! What a wonderful example for Linds!

Jo....sorry for the poor sleep patterns last week, hopefully, like me you got some "good sleep" this weekend. Being overtired is miserable....
Hannah just FaceTimed with us for well over an hour so now back to catching up....just left this window so I could continue!!
Jo...bummer the MRI got postponed...why didn't they think about the contrast before they scheduled it originally??? Glad you don't have to wait too long but still a pain! Yes, I am thoroughly enjoying my weekend....was a pretty lazy day yesterday after I got home from basketball...got the taxes finished and then just puttered a bit. Have the crockpot going and currently bringing the eggs to room temp to keep them from cracking in the IP....laundry is underway and as I said, will get to the sheet pan dinner later, closer to supper time! Want to make my egg for my egg sandwich for breakfast tomorrow morning.....when I go in regular time I do it in the morning but when I go in for OT, I do it the night before. Will also get my shower tonight too....
Gabrielle...I'm sure the holidays are a double edged sword for many....love the extra day off but then have to squish 5 days into the 4 remaining days!! Glad you made it through!! Yes, this has been a constant during this pandemic when many other relationships have had to be put on the back burner during the COVID chaos. Thank you for the kind words.... Crazy that Colton is already 12!! He does struggle with the new little brother and struggles for time with Amanda....hopefully the constant of Sarah and Josh's house will keep things steady for him. I was talking to his "girlfriend" Lylliana yesterday at the basketball game and she said that she too is a blended family....she said "I don't always like my step siblings but they are my family"....sweet kid and I think she and Colton are good for each other since they both have similar family units....up until now, Colton only had half-brothers, now he has step brothers and that is a totally different thing and he has nothing in common with them and really does not like them.....she has similar feelings so that is a good thing.
Funny thing is, Colton does NOT want to introduce Lylliana to Amanda.....she doesn't even know he has a girlfriend yet! Colton only spends weekend time with her when he is with Josh and Sarah....find it kind of odd that he feels safe to introduce her to them and spend time together with she and his dad's family but NOT with his mom??? Thanks for the recipe attempt....appreciate that!
Yes Gabrielle...Deb's cancer is not metastasized as far as it could be but with a diagnosis of small cell carcinoma, it is still a very short time left.....small cell is VERY aggressive and rarely brought into remission! Jason's birthday is Thursday the 25th!! LOL...love the DIET acronym for Carole's training!! Made me laugh!
Karen...I love the words you sent to Anna.....lets her know that you are still there for her but are not wanting to cause any friction or tension on her wedding day. Perfect words. ♥♥♥ Enjoy your time with your family, dogs, Mariel and her gang....a boat ride to Fort Sumpter sounds perfect!!
Jenny....so glad the city got the limbs all cleaned up so the funeral and interment could take place so closure and healing can begin....I'm sure Kerry is overwhelmed now with everything on his plate, weather and the pandemic....glad the neighbor came over and helped him out with the limbs!! I'm sure that Audrey will come home to visit once she heads off to school....you know she has always been close! Yes, I want to know about the baked potatoes too in the air fryer!!
Shelly...so glad you have a work out buddy now....might be just what you need to keep motivated since your trainer has really let the ball drop for you and others I'm sure. When is he supposed to move?? YAY for trying out the Barre workout. Hopefully DH gets back to work this week now that the nasty weather has moved past you. So excited for Tyler and family.....hope they find a house soon to rent and are able to start saving for a house of their own. May will be here before we know it!! Yes, it is so annoying the amount of wasted time Tonya has in her day.....the extra OT these past weeks was a big project that is winding down but if she would just get on task and STAY ON TASK she would NOT ever be behind!
Christine...thanks for starting us off yesterday! I never did make it back....day just took off in other directions!! I understand your frustration with having to edit the intro after it posts.... I had told Jason that if I was up, I would go to Colton's game but if I was still asleep to let me sleep...I woke up about 7:45am and we didn't leave until just after 8:30 so I had time to get up, enjoy a cup of coffee before rushing out the door! I had fallen asleep before 9:00pm on Friday so I got a good night's sleep for sure! "Snow Fatigue, Winter Fatigue"...who knows, I'm just over it!! We are to get 3-5 more inches tomorrow between 7:00am - 1:00pm and then it will change to rain....just a sloppy mess! So glad we have nice warm temps coming to get rid of this crap!
Talking to Hannah on FaceTime this morning, even my "winter lover" is over the snow. It wasn't snowing when she went to bed and she woke up to about 6" of snow and they were only to get 1-3".....go figure, another botched forecast! Will say the bright sunshine out my window today is heavenly!!! Really does wonders for the mood!!
Well Christine...hopefully the taxes and final contract report gets finished so you can tackle the vanity. Yes, a bright white might be a nice POP to the room. Guess you could ask for suggestions at the hardware store...that is if they know anything about paint??? I know sometimes the person in the paint department really has no clue and probably never painted anything in their life! LOL!! Sorry the added walking caused your knees to flare up....hopefully you can get them back in shape soon. Jason has been struggling with his one knee....he overdid it walking outside and it swelled on him and is painful....he is not patient and is frustrated. I told him that it's just arthritis, he will 67 years old and it's part of the aging but he doesn't want to hear that....told him he just has to get it calmed down and they not be so gung-ho and overdo it....he does not listen well when anyone says the needs to take things slow!
Gabrielle...glad the rains stopped in time for your run yesterday!! No, I didn't see the post about the "train" of satellites....how cool!! LOL, not sure it would be cool enough for me to get up at "oh dark 30" though!! Glad you enjoyed a day of peace with many co-workers not in the office. Glad you will have to some time to plan for YOU and not have to worry about meetings, projects, etc.... Yes....amazing how the lack of school sports is the end of the world to many....what they need to remember is that the positivity rate will ONLY get that low and stay that low if they do as they are told....mask up, social distance, etc....they want the sports but many are still not wanting to do their part! Yes, Sarah picked Lylliana up to bring to Colton's game....Josh had taken the boys for hair cuts so Sarah got her and came separately. She is so sweet!
OK...what is MSM??? Never heard of it...I have tried Glucosamine in the past and I might just as well given it to the cats...it did NOT work at all for me! I have found much relief from the oils/supplements from YL in the past couple years and got off the daily Mobic and anti-inflammatories. Even when my back flares up, I opt for heat, oils and other options....Migraines, I opt for oils topically and diffused....I have been 2 1/2 years without taking any over the counter meds...no Advil, cold meds, etc.....it takes work and research but the oils have been a godsend and I am so glad to have that as a healthier option for me!
Lisa...so glad you got to pop in again!! Glad you got some shopping done...I know you will find something just right for the wedding....Invitations are here, it's really happening!! YAY! LOL, Hannah, Jason and I were just saying how 40° this time of year feels like summer but in the fall it feels so cold!! Thankfully our driveway is in the sun most of the day so it is melting quickly....even if we do get a couple inches of snow....the sun will take care of the "shoveling" now!!
Shelly...glad you got out of work at a decent time and DH was cooking dinner! That's nice and it seems like a healthy option for you!! Fingers crossed he gets back to work Monday! I take it that today is your Sunday off??? Yesterday was Kellen's final game....Colton has one more next weekend....his official last game was last week, the one he missed because his mother "made plans" but he has a two week tournament...they won yesterday so they play again next week. The final score was 36-19 and Colton scored 12 of the 36 points for his team!! Hannah said Kale has 2 more weeks of basketball and then his season is done! Soon time for spring sports! YAY!! Thankfully....the winds have FINALLY stopped here....it has been miserable here for weeks and today every thing is still so the sun and warm temps are heavenly! Hey girl....a work out partner 3-4 times a week is a good thing....even if that is all you WO, it will be a consistent schedule and it may motivate you to do it the other days! You've go this!
OK...HB eggs just finished in the IP...time to peel them, flip loads and see what else I can get into....might get back, if not, at least I'm caught up to today...been days behind all week! LOL!!
