thanks diane for taking March.. are we changing names? I hope the cleaning service works out.. seems like it would be a win win situation … you would also be helping her to start her business.. and you know when someone is just starting out they do their very best so their business will grow... I hope I can find someone who doesn't mind doing odd jobs.... lots of little things to do.. I have some things that never got put back up on the living room walls.. and I need help with Macs room.. also cleaning down cob webs on the porch.. just a little of everything. I haven't heard from the gardeners niece.. hopefully I will hear something today.
Ramon will pick up my curbside grocery order this afternoon.. was gonna try to wait a few more days but it worked out this way.. on Friday he will take me for the second covid vaccine.
Sandy.. I was more worried about the fall than I was the shot... but thought maybe the two things together would be a heavy load.. I know when I fell it was the second and third day I felt it the most. still something wrong with that knee.. have a knot on it.
I don't know why my font keeps switching on me.. I have to keep resetting it and then it changes right in the middle of the sentence.. only on this site. No where else do I have the same trouble that I do here. not sure why. Still I'm thankful to have found it. Was feeling really bad when the ww boards shut down to non paying members. I had paid for so many years and then I stopped. Was having lots of health issues that really prevented me from focusing on points etc.. but that's in the past.
Molly you are not the only one who burns things in the crockpot.. I once burned some ribs that had barbeque sauce on them.. I think sugar is one of the easiest to burn foods.
Got the printer up and running or did I already tell you.. lol I don't remember sometimes if I told someone something or what....
Need more sleep..
Jenny

Still having some pain from the fall but it’s very minor compared to how it was. Dinner was a disaster! Fixed a chicken breast and when I cut into it to be sure it was done all this brown stuff came out. I freaked out as it looked like mold. Since it had been frozen I’m sure it wasn’t that but Fred and I decided to just pitch it. Had hot dogs instead. Have never had that happen before.

Oh yuk,Sandy, That is awful!! I would throw that chicken away too. Never happened to me before either and I eat a lot of chicken. Guess I wouldn't buy any from that store again. I know they saw chicken is bloodless unlike beef as they drain it all out but honestly that would be gross. (we raised chickens when I was a kid. I remember Mom killing chickens and the process was yuk!! ) but then I try not to think of all the process meat goes through before we get it. Almost beef less these days. Hope you feel better each day. Falling is not fun.
I am sure we are going to change names. a few ideas? Blustery March. Lion or a Lamb Winter Going Gone

Jenny the font changes on me too, but just on this site.
Molly, I don't remember what our temps were before Alaska came down for a visit. I do remember we were having a warm winter. Today is to be in the 60's again. Sunshine.
Sandy, I was more concerned about the fall than the vaccine. I think I am about the only one who has had reactions to the vaccine, but I have side affects to most everthing.
Well, son called this morning and we are going to be prepared for something like this to happen again. They say it was expected to happen in August when everyone is running A/C big time. He is going to get them a larger generator and getting me one that will run my house. Since I don't want one you have to pull the rope thingie to start it, he is going to find me one that will start automatically when the electricity goes off more than 20 seconds. He says right now the generators are in demand so it will be awhile before he is able to get one.
Bill, is still without water. He is having X-rays this morning and will go by his water company on the way home to see what he can find out. I have a niece below Sulphur Springs, TX on rural water and said the company is not going to repair the pipes. They will turn the water on for 2 hours every morning. I don't know how long that situation will last.
Guess I have rambled on long enough. I need to get things done around here.
Have a great Monday all.

Hi!
Connie made three suggestions for March, and one of them was the same as the one I had thought of! Amazing. My idea was the Lion or Lamb one. It can go in so many directions. Give me any more as you think of them today, and I'll save them to a list. Plan to vote when you choose one, and I'll count the votes Saturday, if that is okay. Linda, sorry we couldn't car pool! Can you imagine how gabby we would be? Sandy, your chicken sounds terrible. I am sorry you're having some pain from the fall, but I know you expected that.
This morning I had a dental appointment -- no bad news! Hurray! After the grocery order is picked up and put away, I plan to cook some sausage, in preparation for making sausage/cheese muffins. I plan to make enough of them to share with neighbors if they turn out okay. Hope they do!
Today, I will try to do as the pastor asked us and spend some time quietly. No talking or doing anything. He calls this "a different kind of fast." Silence is not comfortable for me, so it will be a challenge.
We'll wash dishes today, maybe do a load of laundry, and have a nap this afternoon. Nothing else is planned.
Hugs! Diane

Hi all!
Gonna be another great day! Sunny and 46, high 54! Feels like 41, 30% humidity, and 10% chance of rain. Tomorrow will be in the 50's then a big drop to the 30's Wednesday.
Well, I spoke too soon yesterday regarding the second injection. Around noonish I started feeling cold, then by mid day was getting tired/sleepy. But did go to DS's DMIL's for dinner, and it did wonders. Although I may not have looked very good, but didn't feel cold/chilled. Had the heating blanket on high in the afternoon before going to dinner. I know I'm doing better because I woke before 5, will see how it goes later in the day. Today will be a busy day, especially since I didn't get down what I wanted to. Dental appointment, someone will be by to look at what needs to be done in my garage and materials they will need, and then I get to pick up my car!! Need to call the local bus service to find out how much it will cost to get to DS's so I can pick up my car. Gonna be a whole new experience :oP
Jenn, you will find someone to help, just be patient.
Sandy, ewww, I'm glad you tossed that chicken. Puts a whole new meaning to "dead bird". Hope your feeling a little be better everyday.
Connie, I had an Aunt that had a chicken farm; but never did see her, my Uncle, or cousins kill a chicken for dinner. At a young age I don't know if I could handle it.
Lucy, continue to keep warm and I hope Bill's x-rays will give him some good results.
Have a wonderful day, and may you all have something that will brighten your day, and fill your heart with love, joy, and happiness, remember it doesn't have to be anything big or planned, usually it's those little spontaneous events that occur in our daily lives that will provide us with the greater joy. Keep your eyes and ears open.
Linda

Diane, that is funny , all great minds think alike , right???
Sandy, I helped de feather chickens, also we raised rabbits and darn those things were so cute and Dad said do not make pets of them. He was funny could not butcher anything. My Uncle always helped Mom and remember she was pregnant with my little brother the last time we did either. Moved and raised nothing. But then the guys hunted for meat and that is another story. But will not do that one.
Lucy I love the basket! For some reason I am a sucker for all things in baskets. Remember when we hung them on wall??? Oh gosh those were the days of Longaberger basket home parties. I still have a few. See them at yard sales all the time here.
Darn I got the Valentine card back that I sent to my DGS#2 and his SO. She said having trouble with the mailman in their area. it was sent to right place and think it was sent back from their post office as the stamps were cancelled on my end. Oh well. she didn't get her's out so we will exchange later on in person! I 'm sure she has a pretty one, she is so good at cards. we chatted a bit, said she is going back to work in the office. Went back 2 days last week but everything still pretty much still at home for now. computer and phone line for the business.
Lucy we can't get ice melt of any kind. Trucks come in to TractorSupply and then gone in about 30 minutes. I am glad I had some. Generators always hard to get here in winter. Think they are on the way to you instead now. At least I hope so!!! I will get a new supply of ice melt in the fall. I usually do. drive way has wayy to much to worry about. With the 40's on Wednesday and Thursday imagine it will go away. or least be able to break it up.

My mom used to wring the roosters neck. It would run around. The saying, "Like a chicken with its head cut off". She would pen up roosters and not let them run free so they would put on weight and not be tough.
I called my water company. She said as long as Denison is under a boil order we will be.

It isn't 1 PM and we are up to 64. Yea!!! Washed a load of clothes. Washer pump survived. Our rural electric was never off more than 45 minutes. My washer is on the back porch unheated. I had turned the water off to it and dropped a light down in it and wrapped it in a blanket. Hooray! All good.

It is 78 degrees here at 11:30 so I put the A/C on or it will get way too hot. I have it set on energy saver so it goes off when it reaches 72. Bobbie changed the sheets for me and now she is filling the bird feeders. We have soooo many birds this year that they go thru almost 40 lbs. of bird seed every week. I am hoping they make their nests in the bird houses that I have. My DSon hung one of them in the tree in front so Jim can see it. They have always filled the one in the back where I see it but Jim has to drive over there to see it and he doesn't look often. He will enjoy the one in the front a lot better if they go there.
See you all later.
