This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat. 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss Dvd" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable.
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me

Good morning!
I was surprised to be the first to start us off today, but I am up for the challenge....I have become spoiled not having to do it for a while. Hoping that we can all see this week as a fresh start and make it great! As I re-posted the goals for all of us I realized that I need to do a check to see how I am doing with them. I actually think that I am doing okay, but could definitely improve on things like sleep and getting movement beyond my running. It is cold today but we are hearing no rain all week....kind of a mixed thing because we do need the water, but I think that we are all ready for sunshine (although I know we have had NOTHING like all of you have been experiencing).
Yesterday was an okay day-I decided to focus on home and only did about an hour of work-work. I will figure out how to make up for it during the week. My Deputy Supt had his COVID shot on Friday afternoon and had no side effects---so I would say that he is in the minority (it was his second shot) but it is possible! DH and DM are still a couple of weeks out.
I planned dinners for Mon-Wed (have a Zoom Board meeting from 4-8:30 on Thurs so who knows what that night will look like). Last night was that vegetable soup that we like. I cooked some chicken tenders (plain but with salt/pepper) and added some chicken to mine. Tonight is Tofu/Broccoli/Mushroom stir fry. I am taking veggie soup for lunch today--it will be nice to have something warm!
Sue: Wow, how great to have your taxes done! I don't blame you for wanting to stay home and finish them....sometimes when we stop in the middle, it takes SO long to get back to where we were when we get back into it ....it's not worth it! We need to make our tax appointment and get ours finished. It is always a stressor to see what is going to happen...each year is different. Wow about Colton not telling Amanda about the girlfriend! She sounds like a sweet girl with some things in common with him. I hope that he had a great birthday! I am so happy that you got to meet his GF and talk with her a bit--love that he is comfortable taking her to meet his family. So, has Jason ever tried Glucosamine with the MSM in it? Our good friend is an ER doctor and he has said that it made a big difference with hip pain he was having. DH only just started taking it so we will see how it goes for him. It is tough getting old!! Hope that you have a good day---less overtime this week, maybe? It sounded like there was still a lot of work.

Carole: I hope that this week just feels better for you--I know that the weather this time of year is hard enough without other things that pull at the emotions. I love that the girls got to play in the snow though and that you got out of the house! Sometimes the change in "scenery" is just what we need. I hope that Tracy is feeling better---so glad that they both got their second dose. I have been much more attentive to my tracking the last couple of days---and plan to keep it up. I have been using MFP lately to try it out and pay more attention to my protein...I LOVE how you can put in a URL for a recipe and it will recognize the ingredients! I wish that WW would do that! Hey, how is Tracy feeling about her WW experience so far? Hope that she is feeling some success from it all.
Christine: I hope that you have a good week...we are all thinking that there is going to be some kind of announcement this week from the USDE about state testing....our State Board of Ed scheduled a special meeting on 2/24 and we are wondering if they have some "inside information". We will see. Did you get that last report finished? I know that you have been aiming to get those done! Hope that you have a good day today.
Shelly: Will you be "meeting" with your accountability partner this week? I really hope that you feel the support from it once you get used to it...sounds like an interesting idea! I also hope that DH is working this week---it sounds like the weather is finally improving?
Jenny: Back to work, I think? Hope that you have a good week and don't have to drive far to work.
Karen: I am trying to remember if you are home now? If you are, I hope that you had a WONDERFUL trip and some really great time to relax and take a deep breath. Thinking about you.
Hello to Jo, Lisa, and all who follow. I need to get moving and get to work a bit early. Everyone (who comes on Mondays) should be there today so it will be hopping again. If not later today, I will see you tomorrow morning!

So ladies... it was a good weekend with friends... I was stupid and watched the wedding and saw just how much my family has abandoned me. Here is a link on FB... the lady sitting by herself at the beginning is my mother... acting as mother of the bride. My father gave her away. My sister is playing the organ. www.facebook.com/fellowshipac/videos/3911017682313428 My other two kids are so hurt... I'm hurt.... but we move on. Emily had blocked everyone. I haven't done that because... I just can't yet. We had a 2 hour delay this morning... I'm not so sad. SIL didn't leave complete lesson plans so we had to fix them... (go figure)... Enough complaining. My huband, daughter, son, and son in law love me well... and I am done with the others ... at least for now.

Good Morning
I'm off today as my one day off this week and I work in Corvallis all next week accept Friday then I work in Keizer. I watched the first season of "Firefly Lane" on Netflix this last week when I had time, it is so cute I highly recommend watching it. DH hasn't been feeling really good, he did probably way to much this weekend, he moved his mom out of the home and by the time I came from my WW meeting he had the debris canister filled up with some of the tree branches that our neighbor had cut up so his chest was hurting yesterday. I know his surgery was only a year ago but like I told him not to overdue it cause the scar is still healing.
I tried baking my potato's in the air fryer the other night but it didn't work, I think my potato were to big so I'm going to try smaller potatos next time. Once in a while DH likes to just have a baked potato night with all the fixings that's why I was asking but the good old microwave works the best I think.

Gabrielle thanks for starting us off. I'm going to make it a great Monday and maybe just maybe go for a walk to get out of the house and get some excersize and get laundry caught up. Not much else to do today, I've been off almost 2 weeks and I'm ready to go back to work and have some normalcy.
Karen I watched the begining of the vidieo and couldn't watch the rest because I just can't believe how your families is treating you. I'm sorry your family is hurting but I think your doing the right thing by just letting them do their thing. You can tell just by looking at SIL he'd a control freak. Hugs to you ()()()
OK need to get moving for now I hope everyone's Monday is great.

Evening all...crazy snow today...started about 7:30am and was over by 1:15pm but dropped about 4 inches of snow! Temps warmed up and the roads are perfect....with the overnight temps in the mid 30's, no chance of freezing! Plan to go in at 7:00am tomorrow morning instead of 6:00am...in pretty good shape but another MEAP may drop tomorrow so want to at least get an extra hour in....don't have locations for the stuff we sorted last week yet...once we have those the OT will be back again with 6:00am starts!! Will feel good to sleep an extra 1/2 hour in the morning, not much but it helps! Not sure why on the weekend I got such great sleep and last night slept like crap again! That is why I'm opting for only 1 hour OT tomorrow and maybe Wednesday depending on the timing of the 3rd & 4th MEAPs and the locations of the journals...will plan day by day! Time to catch up....back to yesterday....
Carole...sorry you were feeling out of sorts! Yes, we all want to get up and go but where??? Makes it hard to be motivated....I'm hoping the "spring weather" we are getting this week and weekend will boost the moods of Jason and I....we are sick of winter! The longer days is helping but warmer temps will really be a boost! Sorry the DR is NOT what you expected. Don't want to keep something you don't like! LOVE IT Carole..."we're working on it" is the perfect response for Karen to give Mr. Ackerman....what a putz he is!
Yes Carole...the air fryer works great for "toasting"...it's also great for crisping up leftover things like fries....really does "crisp" things up. I would flip it like you would if you were grilling it to toast it....I've actually crisped up a Reuben sandwich....the bread got nice and crispy like it was the day I ordered it. It does a nice job on leftovers, especially ones that you like crispy or crusty! I've "toasted" leftover waffles in it too!
EXACTLY Carole...Tonya is your Kaitlin!! Drives me nuts!! Not only does her mouth run all day long but she tells me the same story twice like I didn't hear it the first time she told me.....I'm not deaf! UGH!! Sorry your Friday was a bit chaotic! Definitely a good thing you took Eden down to your sister, especially since Tracy was "wiped out"! Would have not been able to watch Eden and do the training at the same time! Bummer about the computer snafus too....just a "Murphy's Law" kind of day, eh??? Good plan to "multi-task" when able!! Sounds like you had a "snacky" kind of lunch...that happens to me sometimes on the weekend....never really have a meal, just a little of this, a little of that....it happens! Glad you got out in the fresh air after the training!!
No Carole...Jim did not have a generator...this weather is so rare for them in TX that is would not be something they would use....it was just a crazy storm that really clobbered many areas of TX. Katie's parents are in Austin...they didn't lose power but had the "rolling black outs" so they would be off for 2-3 hours, then on for 10-12....they just kept rotating so no one was out for any really long time.
Carole...I know for us in PA...we do not have to quarantine if we stay IN PA....only if we leave the state, except for people like Josh that actually work in MD but lives in PA. Wonder if NC is the same. I know Katie and Chris were in PA last weekend for a volleyball tournament...they had to have a COVID test 3 days before they could come and will need to get one when they return about 7-10 after they got back to NC. I know each state is different!!
WOW...even Zoe was up at 6:20am on Saturday!! It's usually only Eden!! Sorry the girls baled on the donut making event planned for the morning. Looks like they had fun decorating them...have to laugh at your "picky" Zoe....WTG for passing on the donuts!! Have to laugh at the girls exploring the "deep woods"! Cracks me up the imagination of that age! I know despite the McD's trip and other treats on the weekend you can manage the rest of your week with few WP's left! WTG stocking up at BJ's too!! Always nice to have the proteins "on hand" when you want to cook!
OK Carole...NO vacuuming of the rug??? That seems really odd. Is it one of the cotton rugs you just throw in the washer/dryer?? We have those in the bathroom and at the kitchen sink but it would NOT be a choice for me under the DR table! Yes Carole...have to wait for the "sap" to start to run in the trees.....I'm thinking you make Maple Sugar/Taffy.....that's the only kind I know.... Yes Carole..I too love having the boys here but when they leave but Jason and I are done....
My sheet pan meal was Turkey Kielbasa, Fresh Broccoli and a few potatoes....drizzled it with a little Roasted Garlic Olive Oil we had gotten from Karen & Bobby for Christmas this year...it was yummy....not overly garlicy....but just a nice hint of garlic. Jason even mentioned that we need to use that olive oil for asparagus this spring...the last couple years for Christmas they have sent a flavored Olive Oil and a Balsamic Vinegar...they are such a fun treat to use for veggies and other things.... I have a Pinterest board of Sheet Pan recipes.....they are so easy and only one pan...my kind of meal and clean up!
LOL...yes Carole, I think the sore knee was just a coincidence and NOT the vaccine! Sounds like both Ken and Tracy faired much better than Gabrielle. You are so funny Carole...giving Ken a shopping list to "keep him out of the house" for a while! I'm sure Mondays can be tough with him being off and if Tracy is off to...."double trouble"!
Gabrielle...Tony W really is a popular guy....500 people consistently....he must be a great motivator! Was your long run cut short or was it just "not as long" as expected?? Glad the weather cooperated and it turned out to be a nice morning! Colton had a great game....he scored 12 of the team's 36 points....he is such a natural athlete! Yes, I am looking forward to DST...I will admit, I do love the extra hour of daylight at night....if they decide to stop the spring/fall hour change, I vote for staying with the DST....I can deal with dark mornings but to always come home from work in daylight would be awesome.

The picture I just posted I took out the window at work this afternoon...I heard them outside plowing and got up to make a copy, the copier is right in front of the window...I saw the guy who helped me on Wednesday clean off my car get out of the truck and grab a broom, then he started to clean off my car and then he did Tonya's too....he is so sweet! I hollered out the door "thanks so much"...he said "no biggie, glad to help"! There are such wonderful people out there!
Oh....yesterday when we were FaceTiming with Hannah, Jason mentioned that since it's getting warm the next few days, he didn't shovel on Thursday afternoon, he just drove back and forth over the driveway to pack the snow down, it would melt soon enough and by Sunday, 1/2 the driveway was indeed melted but Hannah was dying...she's saying "no, you can't do that, it has to be shoveled before you drive on it or step on it"...the Kale pipes up and says..."oh Grandpa, we can NOT walk on the driveway until mommy shovels a path"! It cracked us up. So today when we got home, at the same time, I pulled in the garage and then Jason drove back and forth over the 4" we got today so I videoed it and sent to to Hannah! She just sent back a bunch of emoji's of the woman holding her head in disbelief! She is so funny....my anal Annie!!
Gabrielle...thanks for starting us off this morning...I was up in time and just got side-tracked, next thing I was running out the door! I knew you could handle the "challenge"!! I too am doing OK with my goals but not great....have my good days and bad days....have to admit that all the OT lately has my "mojo" a bit on the fritz! You know Gabrielle...it's funny but you are the ONLY person that I know of that has had the COVID vaccine that had any side effects...I know many people in the medical profession and even my DM said "my arm was a little sore but not as bad as the flu shot"!! Glad you got the time to focus on HOME and put work work on the back burner...I know you will make it all work this week!
Glad you can modify some of the dinner plans and add some chicken or other protein to yours to make it more hearty. Will say the ONLY thing good in that stir fry for tonight is broccoli...I hate mushrooms and Tofu....enjoy!! Honestly, had I not had the snafu many years ago with the taxes not being filed as I thought they had been, I probably would have gone to Kellen's game but I was not taking any chances this year....I knew that the "forgiveness" of the penalty would NOT be offered this time! I am glad to have that task off my plate and really paying in $106 to the sate isn't too bad....we usually pay less than $10 each year, just for the tax on interest from the bank and any taxable investments...but alas, now I have to pay State taxes on "retirement" income!! YIKES!! Not to mention the unemployment this year....all in all, we got off pretty easy this year! Next year will only the the annuity taxes. I'm sure for you it's a waiting game each year with the ranch taxes....do you file them separately from you and Ed's personal taxes or is it all combined since that is Ed's "job"
No Gabrielle...Jason has never tried the Glucosamine w/MSM....he hates to take meds to begin with so not sure I could convince him to try anything at this point. He did say it feels better today so maybe all the TLC, ice and Naprosyn is helping at this point....
I am hoping for less OT this week...I could go in at 6:00am tomorrow but I just decided one hour is enough...I was so exhausted by week's end last week....I know when the locations are all figured out that we will be in entering for many days.....it is MANY, MANY journals and many volumes of each title....will take HOURS!! Figured I'd take the extra hour of sleep when I can. I would much rather go in early than stay late but man, it catches up with me!
Karen...so glad you enjoyed your weekend away! OK, why??? Why did you put yourself through watching?? I get it though, you are her mom, you wanted to see her on her wedding day....breaks my heart that your mom was the MOB stand in and your dad gave her away!! Sounds like Emily is dealing with this situation the best way she can...makes me sad that Emily was not the matron of honor for her sister as she should be....heartbreaking for all. Yes, for today, you just have to let her go and pray that one day, she sees that the people that have loved her and supported her all these years are still there...hurt, confused but still there for her! LOL Karen...did you expect SIL to leave with everything in place for his sub?? Doesn't surprise me at all....
Jenny....hope you had a great day off today! If I remember right, you like to be in Corvallis or Keizer plants, right?? I may need to get Netflix again...we weren't using it much so I quit and got Disney+ instead but then I/we never watch the series on there...we just watched movies. Might need to check it out. I fear many of my favorite shows like NCIS are winding down and will admit that many of the new options are not great! Might need a new series to binge! Hope DH didn't overdo it too much...yes, he has had a lot on his plate, then add the storm and all the clearing of debris....he needs to pace himself!
OK...time to grab some dinner and put my feet up....slept crappy last night so want to wind down and hopefully take advantage of that extra 1/2 hour in the morning!
Waves to all I missed....
