WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C114D9, 17 purple points, 1182 calories, 3 x around mall solo, 8558 steps.
Seems I'm getting enough protein and fiber and will start saving myself the time involved entering it all on MFP.

1818 calories 1214 exercise calories 134g protein 39g fiber 5g added sugar 20/22 Feb challenge
I was feeling hungry last night but had very few calories left. It didn’t quite make sense so I checked; somehow, part of my lunch had been entered twice. What a nice surprise that was!
I just saw something on the news that made me laugh out loud: Bruce Springsteen and Barack Obama have a new podcast out and it’s called “Born in the USA”
Nancy, I was doing a double and triple take with the date of our thread today :-) Thank you for starting us out each and every day.
Kathy, what a great idea to rent your work clothes! That seems like such a reasonable price, and it’s so environmentally friendly.
Meg, do you weigh every day? I weigh myself more like every year. I loved your pictures on Facebook. What a huge amount of snow you got!
Lori, I’m glad kids are returning to school. I just can’t wait for our world to have a little more normalcy.

Good morning, all. The sun is shining in Chicago and it's 43 degrees! I actually went for a walk (had to walk on the street because some sections of the sidewalk are still very icy). So nice to be out.
Lucky day 13 and doing well. Grateful.
Jan: No, my goal is to weigh once a week, but I cheated and was disappointed. WHY do I say this is a slow, permanent process, but then I want to drop a pound a day? Old habit/thinking patterns.
DD and the kids joined the Y several months ago and they are all going regularly. DH and I were considering joining, too, then we found out that it's free through Silver Sneakers. They do require you to go 7 times a month, which doesn't sound like a lot, but I prefer to exercise at home. BUT they have a racquetball court, and I'm hoping to teach all the GKs (we taught our 2 kids years ago and had a blast). Even DH is moderately excited about this! (He needs to get out of his chair and do something! Of course I never nag.)
Peace to all.

Jan - That's funny about the date. When I click in the date box, some prior ones come up. I usually chose the right day of the week and then change the date. Obviously I skipped that step last night.
Meg - Many years ago I played racket ball at our Y and LOVED it. That was until I got my nose split open with an overenthusiastic racket (18 stitches).

Nancy: Oh ack. 18 stitches. Rick and I played for years and years. Our game will probably be slow shuffling now (my Achilles tendons on both feet are still iffy), but it will be fun to show the kids.
Just got back from joining the Y. Free! Yay!

Nancy, I didn’t realize there was a yearly maintenance involved with the generator but I guess it’s just like an air conditioner or furnace maintenance. It is a lot to think about.. I didn’t realize you were tracking on MFP just to keep track of protein and fiber....Do you find your points close with calorie count?? That was the reason I switched to MFP, my points were all over the place while MFP was consistent calorie wise....I have been told the Green plan, with the smallest zero food list, would be the closest to calorie target.
Jan, Good you checked! love when I find extra calories!!! I tend to pre-track everythingI think I’m going to eat and sometimes at the end of the night realize I didn’t....lets me save up some calories for the rest of the week.
Meg, 43 degrees in Chicago sounds like Spring!! Rest of the week looks good here also!! Excited to walk outside....Wonderful news about the Y!! 7 times a month is a Great goal! I’m sure DGKs will get you to go, even when your not feeling it....have a blast!
Funny, I didn’t notice the date until Jan mentioned it....I just saw Tuesday....lol Working in the office tomorrow, excited to see students on campus!!

C57. D4. OP. Tracking. Yoga only. I am completely bone weary. Fell asleep in the middle of the work day - like a COVID flashback. No aerobic exercise at all today. Piano less in an hour :-O
Have to run.

Lori - I count the points and calories on my spreadsheet and then add the non zeros to the ww site. I try to stay within the 16 points and 1200 calories though I don't always succeed. Today, if I stick to plan I'm at 16 points and 1197 calories. But this time I'm trying something new since late at night I have a hard time staying away from the 647 and string cheese. So today the points and calories include a 647 and a string cheese. I'm free to have them without feeling guilty. And if for some reason I don't have them, I'll simply save the 2 pts and 90 calories for another day.
Kathy - When I was working at the law office, all I could think about at 3 PM was 2 oreo cookies, a glass of milk and a cot for a nap. I never had it, but even now when I can't sleep I try to reimagine that feeling (not the cookies or milk but the desire for a nap) in order to fall asleep <g>
