Good morning friends. Another good night of sleeping for which I'm grateful. We have an 'black ice advisory' going on now. Hopefully it'll warm up and be gone so we can venture out and shop. Snow looks so pretty. I'd say we got at least 3"

Ann, glad you slept well. That makes a big difference. We had no measurable snow, but like you, the driveway was sheer ice and so was the deck when I went out to feed the birdies. It's funny but they are all waiting for me when I go out and circling around. The chickadees are getting more and more bold and sit right next to me while I feed them. I am sure I could get them to eat out of my hand. :-) i love them.
Today I have a hair appointment during my lunch hour. I'm really due for a root touch up. They don't last much more than 4 weeks for me.
DH has just left for a dr's appointment. He is having issues with the bottoms of his feet and numbness. He worries it's related to his heart and circulatory problems. I'm glad he is getting it checked out. We know he's not diabetic so that's ruled out. Always something with this aging, isn't it? Like they say, it's not for sissies.
I'm enjoying reading the book Say Nothing. It's a serious book but I am learning. I never knew much about the Troubles in Northern Ireland but remember the news and issues. This delves into the stories of everyone involved. It's good and I find myself doing more background research on the internet. Keeping my old brain active. :-)
Have a good day everyone.

Hi Judy...prayers for DH that he gets a clean bill of health. Yes always 'something' at this age!!!! Bet you are looking forward to getting the roots touched up I've been busy stripping the bed washing sheets and doing more laundry. The 'little people' dropped it off again LOL. Still on the fence about shopping...or not. My headache is a dull ache, that I can deal with...unfortunately my tummy is upset. I made a cup of ginger tea to sip and hopefully that'll do the trick. Later....

What a nice day it turned out to be. Messy walking, but I was happy to get out and smell the air After we came home, we went to Hannaford's. Picked up all we needed and then some. Things just popped into the cart LOL. Got some really good lookin' center cut loin pork chops and that will be supper. I could eat pork chops all the time. We just love them. Carl will man the grille and I'll fix the sides. Not sure what that'll be. The ginger tea helped my tummy....sinus pressure is dull but doable and for both I'm most grateful. I skipped going to Walmart as I didn't want to push it. Time now to relax.

Hello friends!
It's a warm, sunny day and I hit the ground running. Debbie and I walked at 7:30. I had a quick breakfast of fruit, yogurt and seeds, then headed to town to donate blood. From there, I went to tractor supply and purchased new loppers, shrubbery shears and a shepherds hook on which I plan to hang a hummingbird feeder next month when they start migrating. I grocery shopped at Super 1, but still had to go to Walmart for a few things. I had just enough time when I got home to get groceries stashed and heat up some turkey sausage gumbo for my lunch before a zoom Lunch & Learn with Alzheimer's Services. I didn't want to miss as one of my former employees was the presenter. She is a social worker and has been a support group facilitator for many years. It just finished and was every bit as good as I expected.
This afternoon, I plan to go out with all the new gardening tools and start cutting away dead plants and branches. The green room is a mass of dead ginger and banana plants which need to be trimmed away. The plants will come back from the roots, but are really ugly right now.
DH was officially discharged from HH and is one happy camper. I, on the other hand, will not relax until all the dead skin is off the bottom of his foot. I switched from Aveeno moisturizer to Aquaphor last night and we'll see if that makes a difference. Thursday, we will shoe-shop at the New Balance Store while we are in BTR.
Judy - Your DH should be careful. A good part of my DH's foot issues was the lack of circulation in his legs. He had a bypass on one leg and 2 artery-cleaning procedures on the other leg. Lack of circulation makes it hard for any small blister or sore to heal.
Ann - Glad you were able to get out a bit and hope the tummy issue continues to improve. I hope you are able to get the vaccine scheduled. It has eased my mind tremendously and given me hope that someday things will be back to normal.
Sue - I think my neck-shoulder issue was an "all of the above" cure. I found some stretching exercises on-line and did them, applied heat and took both an anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxer. I still feel an occasional twinge when I move my head a certain way, but it's not the excruciating pain of the other night. Awesome news about the washer!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday! We had a slow moving day at school, probably because it was 'all hands on deck' and that doesn't happen all the time. I went early again and left at 2, so I got to Meijer and grocery shopped and brought everything home and all put away. I also did some adjustments on some of my masks and that was something I had been putting off.
DH cooked this morning so we enjoyed his scrambled EB + SWEB + cheese with a fresh fruit bowl of cantaloupe, strawberries and blueberries, and a slice of Dave's toast for me. I didn't have lunch because by the time I got home and got everything done, it was too close to supper. We are having leftover turkey breast, mashed potatoes with homemade gravy and green beans.
DH is very encouraged today. He went to one of his suppliers with pictures of the inside of our washer and asked what they thought he needed, and not only did they know and sell him the part he needed, but they told him how to install it. He had really expected it to be much worse, so he's happy. The little part only costed $29 which certainly beats the cost of a new(er) washer.
Ann ~ Sorry your headache is still plaguing you. We will hope and pray for relief for you. I was a bit envious when you said you were doing laundry (only because I can't). But actually I don't have any to do right now, as I was all caught up when the washer quit.
Judy ~ I could absolutely picture the chickadees surrounding you while you feed them. We enjoy the birds so much and have for years. Enjoy that root touch-up!
Pam ~ So happy to hear good news about your DH's foot. I know you have been longing for that for a long time!! Enjoy "playing" with your new gardening tools.
DH is home and I'm going to watch a little TV with him and then start supper.

Sue what fantastic news on the washer!!!! I am so happy that DH went and spoke with the supplier and not only got the part for a song but also instructions on how to fix it Win win in my book. LOL to doing laundry. Once your machine is up and running I'll send you mind if you'd like With all the OTC pills I've been popping for the sinus pressure headache my stomach was 'off'. I made a cup of ginger tea and that seemed to quiet things down. It didn't stop me from enjoying the pork chop so it's all good. Time to sit read and relax. Sweet dreams all.
