Happy Day All!
Just checking in to let you know all is well. The pod is empty and everything seems to be okay - with a little TLC required. All kinds of things are going wrong, but most of the big ones fixed - like no heat, no television, no internet (this still an issue), mis-dated paperwork for bloodwork, etc., etc. Guys are coming back today to fix up a bunch of not-huge kinks in the remodeling, but all in all, we are back in. Still have to put away all china, knick-knacks, etc., and all the FL room furniture is in the garage. I had them leave all the knick-knack stuff in the garage too - out of sight out of mind! That way I can bring in one box at a time. Boy, do we have a lot of junk!!!!! At least all the furniture is in. Am running my laptop off my phone hotspot for now, so don't want to use up all my data.
Yesterday I was hard at it from about 7 AM until 8:30. Foot and ankle were really swollen even though I wore my boot. Today will be able to sit more.
Will try to catch up on everyone when I get the modem going again.
Take care! Cheers!

Good morning.
Emily, sounds like your weather is about like ours. We're suppose to get rain/snow later today.
Penny, Sure been a long time since you were able to look in your boxes. Putting your stuff away will be fun. Don't overdo.
Just got done with a couple of phone calls. Needed to reschedule an appt for myself and schedule a heart care appt for DH. Waiting for a phone call back to talk with one of the CORE nurses but that might not be today.
Going for a drive later. Have to put gas in the car and it is desperately in need of a car wash. There is one place that is better than others so we'll drive there. Really need to clean up my sewing room. Hardly have room here on my desk for my laptop.
Ozzie decided at 7 that it was time for me to get up. Guess I'll get some laundry started and get on with my day. Have a good one. bettyj

Morning All!
Just a quick stop in - have my ESL meeting in a few minutes......
Penny so glad everything is in one piece. For some reason, I was worried about your piano - stuck in my worry part of my brain.... A little TLC can work wonders and the good news is you can do it in small doses (even though I know you won't).
Good news on the home front yesterday. The nephew that got married 1 1/2 years ago - he and his wife are expecting their first baby in September. Another baby! This board is popping with new life everywhere.
Have to get ready for my class!
Wishing everyone a good day!
Dayle

You could ice skate on my drive way it is thick ice. Temps to be in 30's today and maybe some sunshine later this afternoon. That will probably help but not walking on that stuff for sure. I did get some cleaned off in front of garage door. Not much but maybe enough to get to the snow if I want to get my mail. Just hope I don't have any packages for awhile. In 40's and sure hope that is right, I will continue to work on that ice as it melts. I have an old fashioned metal snow shovel that comes in handy with this mess. Did fill the bird feeder and got the ice off the step out to it. there again walk in the snow from there. Birds were waiting and they didn't hardly even flit away. Just went to high branch. Cute little finches a couple wrens and one beautiful cardinal waiting his turn.
I don't even want my friend to come over and have to deal with this ice. Imagine her drive way as bad as mine. their's is a big hill and not sure they could get back up it. We would need bags and bags of ice melt. I will try not to complain, No not have to boil my water., have power and cable etc. and am warm.
There is a breeze and honestly it is a warmer breeze as well. My snow men flag is blowing pretty good.
Nothing much happening here and these days that is fine with me. Will have some check up later on probably in April and May but for now none.
Penny sounds like in the whole things are pretty good. I think we all have too much stuff and this is when we find that out!! I downsized when I moved here but that was 20 years ago and darn I have accumulated a lot since then. try to keep up tossing and donating as I go along. buy something throw something away. or donate. But still think I have too much. Keep remembering my Mom's house and don't want my girls to have to do what I had to. And now there are a few more to help, with Granddaughter in laws.
After the frigid temps I did start my car and ran it for awhile the other day. I am probably close to needing a new battery. the original one when I got my car. Started right up today. Will get gas next time I am out just in case I get snowed in again. or iced in. Need a trip to grocery store also. plus Rite Aide. Sooon!!!

Good morning everyone
Busy busy morning. We cut down the tree that was touching roof and trimmed the 4 shrubs on other side of house, about 2 feet, that were touching eaves. We are ready for tomorrow to have the holes sealed up and rat traps set in attic and garage tomorrow. The party is over up there. Lol. We didn’t hear any noise last night and hope they left on their own.
Penny- wow a lot going on over there. Good it’s going in right direction. How long are you staying there?
Connie- do you know how to ice skate? I took lessons in my 20’s but never got good at it. Falling down hurts and I did that a lot. Lol
Going to take a long shower after lunch and not do much rest of the day. The pruning was tiring.

Well probably don't know how to ice skate anymore. But yes I did until I was in my 50's As a kid it was on ponds etc. or the local Fireman"s large pond that was a fund raiser each winter. Think I stated iced skating at an almost indoor rink in my 40's. It was sheltered on one side with heavy duty tarp that cut the wind and an indoor refreshment stand and skate rental. In my 50's was real indoor rink. As a kid I was fearless. Played ice hockey with the boys. My uncle who was so fancy on skates taught me how to spin, dance etc on skates. We used to do tricks together, until he started to get a bit scary with jumps etc.
could never get very good at Roller skating but loved the ice back then. I did stop at 5o something as I had a bad fall. Scared me and never did go back. Gee whiz, now I am afraid to walk on ice!!

Penny, so glad to hear that. Given how long and how much humidity, the furniture did well.how long has it been since you were in the house livable? i imagine a lot of stuff not used for so long needed tweaking and stuff polished.
Connie I agree. every time you downsize and declutter, more stuff cones along. married to a saver.
Mar,quiet attic is a good thing!
lost another pound!two in eight days is really good for me.
Got up bleary tired despite sleep. but got the knee shot , the trip to Phoenix for German bakery/grocer and the German butcher, then all put away, quick lunch, then dog to vet for glucose test, then dog and all to pick up reserved library book, then his promised walk. phew. lying down
Strange that you can be quite functional on too little sleep and yawning dead on enough. Even Micki is yawning today. maybe I tossed and turned and kept him up! He had decamped to the chair at some point.
could be pollen has hit 9.5 out of 12 with juniper getting added ash from trees popping open.

I found that I had a lot of things that I really didn't need. Last year I decided to put stuff I didn't need in bags for Goodwill. I put one thing per day in the bags. I got rid of lots of things. This year I will be sending one thing per week to Goodwill. I did a regular load of laundry this morning and a load of towels this afternoon. I also ordered my new shades for the TV room. High today was 46 degrees. Most of the ice is gone. Still lots of snow on the ground.

Discovered today that the exterminator company is not removing the rat poop or disinfecting the attic unless we pay $6,000.00 more. Right now the bill is $975.00. This includes sealing holes all, traps and taking out dead rats.
He says it’s not infested with rats. Maybe 2. He does not think it’s necessary to take out all insulation to sanitize and then put in new insulation.
Seems unhealthy to not clean and sanitize. Hubby doesn’t want to do it. I want to wait a few months after dead rats are gone to make sure they don’t somehow get back in there and then sanitize and put in new insulation. Not sure what we will do.
I called a attic sanitizing company and they will do it for $2400.00 and put in new insulation the same as the exterminator company. Big price difference and not sure why.
I know the exterminator company will do a better job because our daughter works for them. We even get a family discount. I think he quoted it wrong. We only have attic on half of the house. Vaulted ceiling every where else. So I think the price is a lot lower. Will ask tech to measure attic tomorrow.

This was a busy day. I had a follow-up on the MRI I had 6 months ago because they were looking for things that may cause the tremors besides Parkinson's. They did find a pituitary growth. SO had to see if it had grown any and it didn't. Also the concern is if it pressed on the optic nerve and cause blindness but that isn't an issue and I see him again in one year. That took from 9:30am until 1:30PM. Blood draw, MRI, and see the neurologist. The MRI was hard to lay very still because my operated knee started getting achy and it wouldn't lay still. So it took even longer. In there over an hour. All's well that ends well. Today it was in the mid 50's and the mountains of snow are melting. I even went outside and walked 3 blocks. First time since before surgery 3 weeks ago. Awe!!!!

So Helen, what is it they are looking for? Could it be a simple thing and not Parkinson’s? Confused. Mri with aching knee, ouch.
