This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat. 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss Dvd" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable.
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me

I did it! Got the day's Thread started - Good Morning~ Very cold again today, BUT there may be SUNSHINE even though it's only in the 20s just seeing the sun really helps - and excited for tomorrow they are calling for SUNSHINE and 40s which would really help melt this darn ice. Why do I start my day with a weather report? Did I miss my calling?? Hmmm... Need to read yesterday's posts -

Thinking First - Thanks Christine for starting us off! I was trying to get here this morning... LOL
WICKED WINDS last night ~ OY VEY every time I woke up, I started to worry about what we'll be missing when the sun comes up! We are supposed to be a nice day today, but cooler than yesterday. It's OK... we hit 54 yesterday so if we are (only) in the 40s today, it's ALL O K!
Coffee's ready - be right back ♥

Sue - Happy Birthday to Jason! I saw your area's climate was so much warmer! NICE! Enjoy that clear driveway lol. Our driveway is slowly getting there. It was the thick ice that does me in. Last night we ventured out for a steak dinner - figured we never can get seated on a Saturday night with all the restrictions and limited seating, so thought we would try on a Wednesday night - YAY - immediately seated and enjoyed a great meal! I ordered a baked potato (plain) which is 0 Points on my WW Purple Plan as a side with a nice 6 oz steak. I was happy. My FitBit looked good yesterday - 10/11 dots earned. My knees were still very painful - I'm wondering if the drastic warm-up in the weather is the cause? I know I'm moving more but maybe the combination is the issue. I made an appointment in March for a cortisone shot. You are right, sometimes they work sometimes they don't. Gabrielle - thanks for sharing the info for DH's knees and joints. Yes - I ordered some online from LiveWell - I already buy their OmegaWell and recently received MagaWell (Magnesium) so I'm up to trying the MoveWell (glucosamine, MSM) to see if that helps my knee. I know I'll need a TKR for the left one but I simply don't have the time off saved to do it - I've been using time for the Fulton trips - I'll let you know once I start this supplement. We are aiming to do a Winter data collection next week - the Prince insists we have K-2 also do MAP remote. I don't think he realizes how difficult this will be trying to coach 5 year olds in logging on from home or ChildCare. I expect plenty of pushback from that group of Teachers. Jo - Good Luck today on the MRI!! How long before hearing the results? I know I can read the results of my tests within days through the patient portal but it's usually better to hear the physician's report Wow to being able to claim Steven! Nice surprise! We can claim Linds (but then she does live at home) but Carly hit that magic age (24) and makes more then $4000 a year so TurboTax booted her from my program. Speaking of Carly - she got round 1 of her vaccine yesterday. Sore arm seems to be the only side effect just yet. Carole - WOW to seeing the SUN and having some down time to get outside!! HOORAY!! What a nice day you had! How did the Chicken Taco Casserole turn out? Sounds interesting - I might look that one up - I stuck close to my Tracker yesterday and this morning's Flyby had me back down so I feel a little more motivated - good for Tracy! Waves to all - need to get moving here - hoping to see that SUNSHINE around here today

Sue: YAY to getting out at 4! That's earlier than usual isn't it? Oh yes... so many days I get in at 7:30 AM, and Kaitlin is already there, (her 8 AM week) and she is on Amazon, shopping! I prefer to do that at home, before I go to work! Makes me so angry! That is how she gets out every Friday at noon! She makes up the time, doing her shopping and such for an hour a day! Yes, enjoy your 7-4 days while you can!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JASON ♥
Oh yes, years ago, Matthew "made" quite a bundle selling off his silver dollars! We/my sisters still have my Dad's coin collections at the house. I guess technically they "belong" to my sisters at this point - since they were in the house when my mother died, and they got the house.
YAY for the kids being able to get a mortgage this year! WOW They have really come quite a way - from the time you were helping them get a budget put together! Will be nice for them to be able to do new windows too!
LOL Yes, I pulled my veggie tray out yesterday for snack, and then wasn't hungry for lunch! Well, I agree, Colton sees S&J as a safe family unit ♥
No - Ken was unable to get a cortisone shot due to his Warfarin. However - now that he is on Eloquis (sp?) I suggested he message his Dr. and see if now a cortisone shot would be possible. Thanks - yes - you are right, he has 0 disability at his job. I am not at all sure HOW we would deal with his loss of income for TKR and rehab!
OH, I am not seeing a LOT of people "traveling", but those that are, I just wonder! I know one is self-employed, and retired, for the most part. She is now in FL to visit her son. Another is a para in the local school, and she spent most of last week in CT, and another self-employed gal is off in CT (Foxwoods) for this week! Yet another is retired and heading to FL to spend 3 weeks with her sister! I just wonder... we could go somewhere, and as long as we drive - wear masks - get take out, to eat in our hotel - social distance... why not?? At this point Ken is the one that would have to worry about quarantining or testing when we get home!
YES! That's our Sugar ON Snow! We use our forks and pull it up to just enjoy the yummy sweetness! The traditional (Stafford) "sugar Eat" is a meal of pancakes, bacon, sausage ~ with sugar on snow for "dessert". Usually served with sour pickles and saltines - to cut the sweet. For some a little goes a long way - but OH I always eat more than I should!
LOL I know, and who am I to question Jason's "shoveling"... but in my area, that would not work! LOL As it is, I was out there yesterday, scraping UP what had been packed down and was NOT melting fast enough! I enjoyed the warm sunshine - no jacket - and yes, even enjoyed the moving involved!

Christine: Sorry you are still wicked cold ~ I feel so thankful to already be up to 37 degrees here this morning! LOL I know, right? Since when did I become my Grandmother?? I remember mornings where first thing Grampa would check the temperature, and write it on the calendar. WHY? Then in her daily diary she would always mention the weather before she started writing anything else!
Sue: Yes, here too... and now that we are talking about a sugar eat in March - I am a little sad to see the snow going away so quickly! Oh what's for dinner?? Hope you have a comfortable day at work today!
Christine: Yummy - a nice steak dinner OUT sounds wonderful! I am pulling steak for dinner here, but UGH, to have someone else cook would be heavenly!
The casserole was good, I put my "serving" over a bed of lettuce, and enjoyed it. However it just wasn't "enough" so I had a 2nd helping. Not sure of the points, as it is from an old SP program - but will throw it in the recipe builder and see! Meanwhile I tracked all the individual ingredients, and most everything was 0 points on my BLUE program. I then realized WHY it didn't satisfy my hunger - I had skipped lunch! I had a late morning snack of my veggies and light dip, and then with being in and out so much I just never had lunch! So now I feel a bit better about having that 2nd portion!

So... my Tracy... has not felt "right" since her 2nd Covid shot. Her BP has been elevated (a lot), and she has had a headache and stiff neck, and tightness in her chest. Her PCP says it is "coincidence" but to be honest, how do they KNOW it's NOT from the shot?? Sorry, I am just not sure I trust that they would acknowledge even if it were vaccine related!
Tuesday her Dr. did blood work, and (something) was high, so she ordered an ultrasound to check for a blood clot. Nothing was found - and she was told to see a neurologist (again) for the Cyst in her neck. Good luck SEEING a Dr. these days! UGH!
Anyway... she worked a vaccine clinic yesterday, (as stand by with the ambulance - not giving shots.) By the end of the day, her ache in her chest was worse, so her medic partner drove her to the ER. She had labs drawn, an EKG, and a CT. Everything appears to be "fine", so they "think" it's muscular. Like a pulled muscle. Hmmm, from what? Who knows... but... nothing they can do for her, except medications. So, after working the vaccine clinic all day, then in the ER from 4:30 - 8:30 PM, she went to work at 11! She has PT (for her shoulder) at 9 AM then she should be home to sleep! She works again tonight at 11.
Meanwhile - when she comes home each day to sleep - she is having trouble sleeping! She has difficulty falling asleep, but even more trouble staying asleep more than about 4-5 hours. I think if anything, the one med she needs is something to help her sleep these days! OY VEY! Melatonin doesn't help - she's tried. She keeps trying different oils, but nothing seems to be working.
I can tell you gals that this is NOT the week, for her to be dealing with (potential) heart/breathing trouble. NOT to make it "all about me", but DAMN This Mamma cannot handle it right now! We are coming into the week of Matt's surgery, 3/1 - and we all know what that brought about... so anything clot/heart related right now - Takes.me.Down.! I am trying NOT to let her see how this is affecting ME, I mean after all it is SHE that is dealing with so much more - but UGH! Thanks for listening ♥
OK I guess it's time for me to get moving here too! I expect another long day at work, it's just the way things go I guess! Some days I am right out straight, and some days, I have most of the day "free"!
I do feel WEIRD being out and about (in my own yard) while on the clock... but I don't have work to do! I have spent too many days just SITTING at my desk, waiting... and nothing coming in - so now I may as well be productive around here when I can, right?
Anyway - time to get MOVING! ♥hugs♥

Popping in between Zoom meetings (it is 5:21 pm ....uggh). Wanted to stop by as I saw Carole's post this morning as I was shutting down the computer. Thinking about you Carole and hoping that Tracy (and you) get some answers. It must be so worrisome for you. I was thinking about this all day and can not think of anything else you can do! I hope that she can get into the neurologist quickly. Here in CA, a lot of people are not going to doctors (even when they should) so appointments are not too far off. I hope that is the case for Tracy.
Okay, need to get a cup of decaf and get on the next Zoom.
See you tomorrow...
