Hi Ann and friends,
Yes, another sunny day. That alone cheers me up a lot. I've made my "to do" list for the day - a few work meetings, laundry, regular kitchen chores and a reminder to track and drink my water. I love crossing stuff off a list, so writing down even simple things helps me.
I attended a WW bigger meeting today. I found one leader who I really like -she's based out of Maryland and has such a nice, low key, common sense way about her. It gives me two meetings to attend which I need. Picked up some new tips today.
I hope everyone has a nice day. I made a new recipe with chicken breasts last night - I breaded them in Italian breadcrumbs and browned them in a pan. In a 9x13 pan, I layered baby bella mushrooms - sauteed briefly, the chicken and a combo of cream of mushroom soup and lf chicken broth over the top and a slice of mozzarella cheese over each chicken breast. So easy and so good. We had steamed green beans and fingerling potatoes on the side. We have enough leftovers for another meal tonight.
Bkfst today was oatmeal topped with strawberries and coffee. Lunch will be a salad with some thin slices of deli ham on top and a crumble of cheese. I am determined to avoid chips this week. Sounds silly but I have given a lot of thought to my potato chip issue. lol I don't eat them out of boredom or emotions. I just eat them because I love them. I even read up on it - most humans are nearly addicted to that salty/fat/crunchy aspect. And it's true, you can't stop once you start. DH brings them home and I'm not going to police him if he wants a few. I may take a page from Ann and put them in a very inconvenient place. Ann and Pam, you both said this happens with Samoa cookies for you. I can pass on the sweets - not as problematic for me as chips. They are my no. 1 treat. It runs in my family - two of my brothers are the exact same way. The one who passed had them every night watching his shows, but he never had a weight issue. Oh well, I am rambling but it's good to think about this stuff. It won't change if I don't find a solution.
I'll be back!

Meant to add a couple things ~~ Sue, hooray on the washing machine repair. Good to have a handy husband. I do, too. There is little he cannot fix and he takes great pride in that. Saves us so much money! HOpe your WI goes well. You are right that many things we worry in advance about never come to fruition. I have found that it is the things you don't expect and anticipate that are often most troublesome! But, I'd never want to know about those unexpected and unpreventable things in advance.
Ann, enjoy your Lula/Mom girls day! I agree - I truly love this non-judgmental zone. I have sort of had it with folks who are bossy and pushy and judgy! Usually, they have a bunch of their own issues that they need to solve. Don't we all, but it's all in the delivery. I appreciate all of your help and advice because I know it's given with kindness and good motives.

Judy re: sweets...I love anything coconut and chocolate think mounds bar or anything lemon...that being said all the rest I can leave behind. Salty crunchy well that's a horse of a different color. I once remember being at a WW meeting and everyone was talking about Kimball's Ice Cream stand and how they can't wait to 'go there'. I am not an ice cream lover...and the leader at the time went around the room to ask what our favorite flavor was. When it was 'my turn' I said a plain cone stuffed with hummus....the looks on their faces was priceless LOL.....I was kidded about that each and every time spring rolled around..... So yeah, I'm with you on the salty stuff. And no I don't eat salty foods out of boredom either...I eat them why? Because I like them Nuff said. That also goes for nuts and crackers...can't forget crackers and my cracker of choice is crunchmaster that they sell by the body bag box at BJ's. I actually had Carl hide them on me and whenever he goes out I search for them. I've yet to fine them and yup, I'll look again today LOL. That chicken dish sounds delish. Thanks for sharing. I shall have to jot that one down. Anything breaded with Italian breadcrumbs is a win win with me. Sometimes it's hard to read posts as you don't get the full meaning (facial expressions) behind the typed word. Lots of times after I hit send and read it I just pray that it's taken the way that I meant......You hit the nail on the head when you said you take things with kindness and good motives Your meals sound great. I had oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast, lunch will be a tuna rollup with veggie bean soup and supper is NY strip sirloin steak with Mexican corn and a Rhodes crusty roll. I have just enough tomatoes left to make a nice side salad as well. I'm doing laundry now and once Carl leaves I'll spit shine the house. Then I plan on reading and just relaxing the day away. Why not? Isn't that what I'm supposed to do

Thanks, Ann. You are so great and your comments always do the trick! I love the ice cream cone stuffed with hummus. Ha ha! I like ice cream but often it just gets freezer burned for us. My DH loves pies and cookies and I am still that popcorn, crackers and cheese, chips kinda girl! I have yet to try the butter sprays for popcorn but someone told me to do it. If it tastes fake, I won't like it! :-( A little butter is better than a pound of artificial. Best to just limit the popcorn!!
Yes, you should be relaxing and reading. Enjoy!

Nope tried the 'butter spray' and it was a soggy mess that had a gummy taste. I also don't care for all those powdered cheeses that people rant and rave about LOL...Just give me my hot popcorn with butter and I'm a happy little camper, with a side order of potato chips LOL. Well, Carl came home with a bunch of stuff from Market Basket. Also got charged twice for paper towels but he said that the cashier was very slow and was having a hard time. So I am not going to do a thing. Sometimes when you call they will take the price of the item out of their paycheck and way I see it is nowadays the 'worker bees' are exposing themselves to COVID so I'll just eat it. $14.99 is not going to make or break me.
On a happier note, while Carl was paying for the service call he noticed NO CHARGE for the tire rotation. When he questioned it he was told it's because of his bday. I never knew of a place that did that. So...that more than covered the paper towels....
I read but not much as I fell asleep. Story of my life. Now Carl is going to put the steaks on the grille. Getting hungry over here. Carl buys those little Friendly ice cream sundae cups for himself as he enjoys ice cream. At least those don't tempt me. By the way.........no luck on finding the 'crackers'
