Gray day today - hopefully the sun will come out. Hubby is waiting for someone with a plow to show up. One guy promised and has not appeared so he contacted another. Who knows...maybe he will end up with two plowing at the same time! No news...just checking in.

Good morning friends! Another nice morning here, they are calling for rain later today, right now it is nice. My iris have opened up since yesterday, these are a beautiful purple color, I have some salmon colored ones that bloom just a little later, also the old-fashioned rose bush that has come down from my grandmother, is covered with pods. It is a beautiful pink in color. Can't wait for it to bloom. We always go to Florida the first 2 weeks in May. We meet family there every year, usually I miss the old rosebush blooming. This year, everything is early, so it is going to bloom before I go. This year, we go on May 5th. We always go on the first Friday of May & stay for 2 weeks. DH's brother has a condo there & they are always nice enough to invite us. His wife is like a sister to me. We always enjoy their company very much. They fly down from Long Island, & we drive down. We drive to Atlanta, stop & spend the night, then drive on the next day. We could make it in one day, it is about a 12 hr drive, but we choose to make it easy on ourselves & take it easy.

My appt. yesterday with the rheumatologist went well. He looked at my swollen hands and fingers and said that kind of looked like rheumatoid arthritis. He also suggested gout, and said it can appear anywhere. He ordered a blood draw for 5 different tests. Then he took fluid out of my knee, looked at in the syringe and said there was inflammation there and is sending it to be tested. Then he gave me a cortisone shot in both shoulders, which helped immensely. No shoulder pain nor stiff swollen fingers this morning. Now waiting to find out what he concludes from the blood tests.
I've been on the run all day. I went into town this morning with my son as he was getting a blood draw for a panel of different tests. He dropped me off at the tax office to pick up my taxes. I told him I would walk up to get some coffee at the coffee house. I walked a half block from the tax office, then up a short slope and by the time I got to the top I was totally out of breath. I couldn't believe how out of shape I was. I walked slowly for 4 blocks and was still out of breath. Anyway, when he picked me up we went to the pharmacy so I could pick up a prescription, then we had an early lunch at Applebees. Then we came home and I picked up a neighbor and we went to Ladies Aid at the church. After that I took her and another neighbor home. Finally got to come home kick off my shoes and relax in my chair and look at magazines at about 4:30. So that has been my day with the plus of having no pain in my arms and fingers.
And for the first time in almost more years than I can remember, I got a tax refund - which they put against my estimated taxes for this year. But that's fine. I don't need the money from the refund.
