Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Hello Everyone - Welcome to another week - the year is going by so quickly! I cleaned out my sewing machine this morning and changed to a new needle. Then I made the blocks for the latest Scrap quilt along and Sewing Bee quilt alongs that I'm participating in, so I'm all caught up now. I still need to baste my hand quilting piece, I do thread basting for that. And then I need to trim up the blue fabric scraps that I pulled out. Hopefully after that I can work on some machine quilting again. Hope all of you are doing well and that you get to do some crafting today

Funny CJ, I was just thinking that when I finish my falling charms quilt, I ought to take my machine in for annual servicing and cleaning. Glad you cleaned your machine and changed your needle- that should help keep it in prime running condition. Did you clean and change the needle on the new machine or your original machine? Were you able to make the quilt sandwich for the hand basting quilt? You mentioned that you hand baste....which is probably the best method of holding the sandwich together. You have been busy getting the scrap quilt and sewing bee quilt blocks done. Do you quilt to music, movies, television shows or a calm quiet? Just curious....I know someone who quilts to audio books, which I have done also.
Well DGS did not have a good day, he is 9 months old. I spent a good portion of the day rocking him while he slept. IMO he either has an ear infection or is teething. He did continually rub his one ear, a strong indicator of either. He has no teeth as of yet, but all of DDโs kids are late teethers. Dd got her first tooth at 10 months.... DD was going to have him checked out this afternoon, in the event it is an ear infection. DGS as pretty good, as long as I rocked him. I realized he was not having a good day and figured oh well- they are only little once.
Got study tonight. Doubtful I will get any time in quilting tonight. Ginny

Good. Morning all-
Ruth, I can feel that fire.....a wood stove fire is just so cozy. What did you cook yesterday? seems like you are always making something that must taste and smell amazing.
Phyl- well those early appointments are nice, as you said in and out easily and then the rest of the day is yours to do as you see fit. Glad you are feeling better!!! Still nice to get into a quilt shop- bet you got some nice ideas there too.
DGS is being treated for an ear infection, which makes sense.....
Off to babysit. G

We went out today to take care of some errands, two banks, Dollar tree only because we had so much time before our scheduled pickup from Walmart...yep we were just there last Tues inside Walmart. Then home and I haven't done much since. I had a horrible sleep night last night.I was awake until 7am and finally dozed off and got up at 11.So I'm going to sit and do nothing except mindless crochet the rest of the evening.
Ginny, I'm so glad to see that they figured out what was wrong with the baby and are treating it. Poor little fellow!

Aw Ruth, I am so sorry to learn that you did not sleep well. (So very frustrating, isnโt it!!). Bet running all those errands will tire you out and that you will sleep well tonight. You have hit on the only issue with these pick up grocery orders- they have to be ready on time and you cannot get there too early. Sounds Like you and Dh will not have to go to Walmart for awhile. Were you able to rest up for the remainder of the day?
Phyl, would you consider looking for that wall hanging elsewhere? Sometimes Missouri Star offers items/kits for a bit less. Was it a panel? Hard to believe that a fall wall hanging was out, but then to get it made and quilted in time, it would be good to start now. Hope that you will not miss the cancelled PT appointment and that you are comfortable.
Two long days done....glad to be home and able to just get some housework done.
Have a good evening all. Ginny

Very pretty fabric line and kit!!! Of course, I really like fall fabric colors anyway....
Just happy to have a day home today. Think I have someone coming here to help improve the drainage in the backyard. So it will be a quiet day home, most likely.
Good weather, think we have rain coming so if this work gets done in the yard, it will be good timing. Ginny

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today I went out yesterday and bought some groceries and had the oil changed in my car. I like to go to Valvoline, since you don't have to get out of your car there. This morning I thread basted the hand quilting piece I want to work on. I only thread baste pieces I'm going to hand quilt, I use safety pins to baste pieces I'm going to machine quilt. I started going through my blue scraps to trim them into standard sizes, but stopped because I'm just not interested in doing that right now and I found it irritating I need to pull some fabric to make my monthly blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge and then maybe I'll feel like getting back to trimming them later when I'm in a better mood. Hope all of you are getting to do some crafting. Take care!
