Statistically the number is so small. I think the government is bending over backwards to be transparent, which is what everyone has been calling for.

Will be interesting to see how people react to this. I wouldn't want to take it. It has happened at the rate of one in a million shot but they have no way of knowing who it is going to happen to. Glad I've gotten my shots.

bbbearsmom, true. I got DH and I got the Moderna. If the J&J were the only one available I would probably take my chances, but since I have the ability to stay mostly isolated, if I were not yet vaccinated I would wait for the 2 shot option.

lani, I told my husband I wouldn't take it and he said the odds were probably higher of me dying in a car accident on the way to get the vaccine. I think I would still hesitate.

Sure glad I didn't rush out to get it. I'm about ready to just go with the immunity I got from having covid.

bbbearsmom, as I said, I would only take it if there were no other option. But there are other vaccines, however, it will take longer to vaccinate everyone that wants it without the J&J vax.

IMO since the cases are 2-3 weeks out from the J&J vaccine, they need to wait 3 weeks before putting it back in circulation, to see if any more cases come up.

IMO since the cases are 2-3 weeks out from the J&J vaccine, they need to wait 3 weeks before putting it back in circulation, to see if any more cases come up. Also, the standard blot clot treatment will make things worse with this particular side effect, so CDC wanted to make sure doctors all knew about this possiblity if someone presented with the symptoms. They would first ask about their vaccine status before starting treatment.

They would first ask about their vaccine status before starting treatment. My understanding is it will make it worse because in addition to the blood clots, there is also a drop in blood platelets. Platelets are what make your blood clot. So you wouldn't want a blood thinner if you have an issue with low platelets. This blood platelet drop was also an issue with the Moderna & Pfizer vaccine. In a very small number of people, it caused a precipitous drop in blood platelets. See the NY Times article Feb.8 2021. alias123, you are right. I was just too lazy to explain it all.
