A quote for the weekend -
"Judge not for your flaws, but for your triumphs!" - Whitney Houston (singer, actress)
We're heading into the weekend and heading into the second half of this challenge round on Monday.
How is the challenge going? What triumphs of any sort have you had?
And - open forum for any other thoughts, topics or ideas of the day / weekend?

"Judge not for your flaws, but for your triumphs!" - Whitney Houston (singer, actress) I love this...
We're heading into the weekend and heading into the second half of this challenge round on Monday. How is the challenge going? What triumphs of any sort have you had? Going okay BUT slow with weight and not getting in as much exercise as I had thought I would. Triumphs...staying positive.
And - open forum for any other thoughts, topics or ideas of the day / weekend? Contemplating moving to the purple plan or perhaps Core from long ago. Want to do something different and think it might give me new focus to try make a change...not SURE I will but...might.

Triumphs -
It was really great for awhile to have no set schedule to be at work, etc, but I've learned that having at least some sort of a plan/schedule for the day is good for me. Planning breakfast the night before has been a positive step. I'm going to build on that. I tackled a few tasks I'd been avoiding (for no good reasons at all) and it was great to get them off the to do list. Walking outside. Making sure I take breaks and get up and move (can forget to do that sometimes when at computer or reading).
Happy for better weather - sunshine more often! Beyond that, nothing new or different for this weekend.

I haven't been doing quite as well the last week or so with exercise. There have been some days that I've skipped, mostly because I didn't get at it in a timely manner or went into town and didn't do anything when I got back. Today I am going to walk, and a new week is coming up so I've got a "second chance."
Another thing I'm working on is getting up and moving more during the day. I spend too much time sometimes sitting and reading or on the computer. I'm going to make it a point to set an alarm to get up and move.
I guess the main triumph has been being able to walk a mile when it is nice enough to walk outside. So much nicer than trying to walk a mile on the treadmill. (Or "dreadmill" as someone used to call it.)

Doing pretty well in this challenge, still not getting the exercise that I need, but doing better than I was back in the winter. I am doing a bit of gardening now that the weather is getting nicer, I am trying to do a bit of spring cleaning around the yard and porches. I find that I get tired pretty fast, but after a short rest, I am good to go again. I am thankful for things to do to keep me busy.

I haven't been finishing my 8 cups of water (weak herbal tea) every day and my weight has climbed. Yesterday I did finish all 8 cups worth and this morning's weight was down. I'm hoping to finish today's too; will be back in the morning to report on tomorrow's weight...
I've gotten in more steps this past week. I think I reported when I got my new fitness tracker some months ago. When I worked full-time, I had no trouble getting in 10,000 steps a day. I kept scoring well after that even though it went down below 10,000 a day. However, with the pandemic, staying home a lot, etc., I set the "goal" at 2500 and I've been exceeding that. I bumped it up to 3500 and I exceeded that a few times this week. I'm working my way up to setting 5,000 as my goal. I plan to go from there. It would really be nice to get to 10,000 again.
jasimons , I also found after a few months after I stopped working full-time that I needed more structure. I gave myself some parameters (and more as time progressed) and things definitely improved. Judy, go for it!

I got in a mile walk yesterday and today I may start some more garden seeds, some veggies and a couple of different flowers. Other than that, nothing going on.

Hope the day is going well for all. Holly Gail, thanks for the words of experience! Quote from a daily motivational e-mail I get. It reminded me about making goals that are positive (I want to...) not negative (I want to give up...) "Our thoughts create our reality - where we put our focus is the direction we tend to go." - Peter McWilliams (author)

I like the quote "our thoughts create our reality". This reminds me of what I used to tell my children "You are what you think you are". I especially used to beat this in my younger son's head, as he had very low self-esteem. Bit of exercise planned for today, some yard work planned.

Got in some yard work on my "Weekend". (Thursday and Friday). Went to Church this morning and now heading in to work. Packed my lunch. Kinda like a bento box- bits and pieces or dibs and dabs. Banana bread turned out pretty good. Will try to post recipe tonight.

Ugh. I drank almost the entire 8 cups yesterday and this morning my weight was the same as it was on Friday morning, .6 lb. higher than yesterday's (which, in turn, was .6 of a pound lower than Friday's). So I guess drinking all 8 cups isn't the "sole" answer. I eat almost exclusively SF's "no count" foods. Yesterday in addition to those, I had .5 oz pecans, .5 oz dark chocolate chips, 1/2 small avocado, and salad dressing (2 points). Some of the chicken I ate wasn't in the no count category, but I didn't eat much of it, so give me a few points for that as well. And still I was up more than a half pound. I still have two weeks to get back down another 2.2 pounds to be at 1.9 pounds over goal.
I taught Sunday School this morning, tutored one boy, and just got off a video chat with DS (we try to connect every Sunday afternoon when he's not working too hard). We catch up on what's going on with each other's life. He and DDIL and youngest DGS had their first Covid shot last week; all three of them went together. And it looks like DGS will go to U of O/Eugene in the fall. They are likely to drive to Eugene in May (I already emailed jan, giving her DS's email address). They just want to scope out what's what. It's been a lifetime since I was in Eugene; I think DS was less than 5 years old and his youngest is now 19.
