National Big Wind Day National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day National Licorice Day National Bookmobile Day – Wednesday of National Library Week I have to say these are probably my favorite go to comfort food. And now that I have discovered Velveeta slices (40 calorie, 1 SP) I have them often ha, I just went to read the history of them and see I am not alone. "NATIONAL GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH DAY National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day is observed annually on April 12th. Listed in a reader’s opinion poll, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches are among one of the top comfort foods in the United States. According to food historians, cooked bread and cheese is an ancient food, enjoyed across the world in many cultures. The United States modern version of the grilled cheese sandwich originated in the 1920s when inexpensive sliced bread and American cheese became easily available. Originally it was made as an open-faced sandwich. United States government cookbooks describe Navy cooks broiling “American cheese filling sandwiches” during World War II. Grilled cheese sandwiches are versatile thanks to the ability to mix and match cheeses, bread, and seasonings. Adding sauteed vegetables or herb-infused oils can elevate this simple comfort food to a whole other level." www.nationaldaycalendar.com/days-2/national-grilled-cheese-sandwich-day-april-12/

Oh I love grilled cheese and licorice (black or strawberry) So let's see, I can have a grilled cheese followed by licorice while reading a book that hopefully won't get pages turned by big wind perfect!

dina! I am a licorice lover too why is it so hard to find black licorice nowadays?! Red vines are all over the place but now it is like a scavenger hunt to find the black ones. Good thing at this time of year the black jelly beans are plentiful and I can stock up 🤣

I love grilled cheese!
I'll have to look for those velveeta slices. I bought some cheese slices that were 60 calories each. I didn't check the points at the store and they're 3 points each.
You all can keep the licorice. One of the few candies I don't like!

Growing up Catholic, grilled cheese was a Friday staple! I love it any way shape or form! Only red twizzlers for me! There was a licorice factory in St. Louis growing up and you could smell the black licorice!

I,love black jelly beans!
Growing up, my mother made what my dad called "cheese dreams." They were open faced grilled cheese, I think Velveeta, with tomato & bacon on top broiled in the oven. The best grilled cheese ever. I'm salivating.

grilled cheese with velveeta!! ack! my kids' dad bought me a grilled cheese cookbook since i love them so much but i like mine with really good cheese! my favorite way to make it is with bacon and thin sliced apple (and good cheese), or open face with tomato, garlic, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and sea salt. and i have found that a mixture of olive oil and butter makes a really good crust.
