Here's an interesting article from Healthline. Take a gander at it, and tell us about any of the 27 tips that you've tried or incorporated into your life, or wouldn't go near if it were the last thing on earth... You get the idea.
There are actually several articles; I'm asking you to read the first one. I'm copying only the very opening part just to give you a taste (yes, pun intended) of what we'll be looking at for today.
<<27 Health and Nutrition Tips That Are Actually Evidence-Based
Itβs easy to get confused when it comes to health and nutrition.
Even qualified experts often seem to hold opposing opinions.
Yet, despite all the disagreements, a number of wellness tips are well supported by research.>>

I do many of these but am not sure I get to all of them...in fact I know I don't! Most of what I DON'T do has more to do with the points in nuts or not loving exercise or being predominately vegetarian so protein is not as easy to come by (it seems). As for belly fat...that is the place I tend to see weight loss last...but it does eventually go down, too.

Some of the good things that I do: Sleep - grateful to sleep well Fruits/vegetables - do eat enough (but...could aim for more variety) Track food - don't do it all the time, but do sometimes
Good thing that I like & can add: Nuts - like them, just tend to forget about them (also, need to have portion control!)
Know it is good, keep trying to make a habit: Cardio Lifting heavy things
Interesting and will keep reading: Saturated fat Eggs (seem to both be topics with research that keeps evolving...if the items are "good" or "bad")
Thanks - there lots of further info to look into.

Seems as though the experts can never agree on what makes us fat! first it was the fat that makes us fat, then it was the carbs that makes us fat, now it seems to trend toward it's the sugar that makes fat.
I do know that lifting weights can improve metabolism.
I will read these articles in depth.

I find that I do most of the things listed. Some I can improve on such as adding more herbs and spices and doing more exercise of all kinds. Core exercises are probably what I get the least of. And, of course, enough sleep is often pretty illusive.
Good article. I delved into a couple of the sub articles and I'm going to try to read more later.

Hi all!!
Jumping in here today, hoping to keep up with the thread. We all know just how fickle I am and how fast I can easily disappear.
I had to do a double take, as I just hooked back up with healthline. Lots of good info. Most of the things I do, but I have to work on
10. Avoid bright lights before sleep.... this, especially putting away my cell phone before bed. Most of my books are on my Ipad and the kindle app, but reading does help me sleep.
26. Donβt go on a diet... this is screaming my name at the moment. I have basically maintained through the pandemic and I am at goal weight... maybe a pound or two over? Not sure here as I am trying NOT to have a single goal number but a range. I also can't for the life of me decide on anything. I swear I have installed and uninstalled the same calorie counting apps, 100's of times. As to WW programs, been basically changing my mind almost daily, weekly. So, maybe this IS the time to try and ditch the diet... though it is a huge commitment.
Feels good writing about more than just food.... and posting is probably the best gift I can give myself at the moment.
TIA <3
