Stronger
by Cindy McCain
A courageous life
Cindy Hensley was just out of college when she met and fell in love with the celebrated Navy hero John McCain. They embarked on a thrilling life together that put her at the center of American politics for over four decades.
Raising their four children in Arizona while John flourished as a six-term senator in Washington, D.C., Cindy brought her own flair to the role of political wife. She eagerly supported John’s career even as she tried hard to stay out of the spotlight and maintain her own health and well-being. She is honest in revealing her own successes and missteps, discussing how she dealt with political attacks targeting her children, her battle with opioid addiction, and the wild whirl of campaigning for president.
ALSO have a few new novels by our favorite male authors.
A Gambling Man
by David Baldacci
In search of the promised land
The 1950s are on the horizon, and Archer is in dire need of a fresh start after a nearly fatal detour in Poca City. So Archer hops on a bus and begins the long journey out west to California, where rumor has it there is money to be made if you’re hard-working, lucky, criminal—or all three.
Along the way, Archer stops in Reno, where a stroke of fortune delivers him a wad of cash and a blood-red 1939 Delahaye convertible—plus a companion for the final leg of the journey, an aspiring actress named Liberty Callahan. But when the two arrive in Bay Town, Archer quickly discovers that the hordes of people who flocked there seeking fame and fortune landed in a false paradise that instead caters to their worst addictions and fears.
The Final Twist
by Jeffery Deaver
Colter Shaw finds himself in San Francisco, where he has taken on the mission his father began years ago: finding a missing courier bag containing evidence that will bring down a corporate espionage firm responsible for perhaps thousands of deaths.
Following the enigmatic clues his father left behind, Shaw plays cat and mouse with the company's sadistic enforcers, as he speeds from one gritty neighborhood in the City by the Bay to another. Suddenly, the job takes on a frightening urgency: Only by finding the courier bag can he expose the company and stop the murder of an entire family.
As Shaw narrows in on the truth, he learns that the courier bag contains a secret that could only be described as catastrophic.
I am actually in middle of paper back and it is fast reading and just what I need while doing deep cleaning since I no longer have a cat and may just get rid of some of the dander. Not bad on the kitty hair but DGD was allergic to Calli so hoping this will help a bit. I am kind of enjoying it. moving things around and getting rid of some things. Finding things I forgot I had in closets. most I am tossing if forgot I had them probably don't need them.
Hope you got some good ideas from today's new thread but if not come back later and maybe you will later on. THANKS a lot to my loyal followers and know you are appreciated. You have helped to broaden my reading material. maybe we will pick up some new posters, like all genres of reading!! as I hope you do too!!!
