Ruth, hope that you were able to find yarn to make spider man afghans for the little boys...is a spider man logo crocheted into the afghan?? Sounds adorable, but also a lot of work!! Glad you had a quiet day yesterday. Its nice to have a “down” day to relax from time to time.
CJ- as I sit here at my dining room table, I realize that I have seen your falling charms fabrics before! They are from the Moda Kansas troubles line, which is the fabric I used to make a cute table runner from (will post a picture this week of the runner). its a really pretty fabric line and I can see why you chose that for the falling charms.
Babysitting today...and study tonight. Ds is home from his vacation- was good to catch up with him.
Have a great day Ginny

Ginny - Hope your babysitting and study group goes well today You are right. The fabrics in my Falling Charms quilt are from the Kansas Troubles line called Thistle. I did another Falling Charms quilt with some Moda fabric in the Poetry line. It's a great pattern. I have a few ideas for some new projects, but I have some things to do around the house and errands to take care of so I'm not sure if I'll get to them. Hope all of you are doing well today and that you get to do some crafting

CJ I realized it was the Kansas troubles line from the burgundy and then blue florals (made placemats from those) and then the black or deep blue fabric that has a goldfish squiggle design in it. I kept on staring at those fabrics last night in your picture and of course told myself that I thought I had seen them before. Until this morning when I knew I had seen them before- right under my tea mug!! Just checked out that Moda poetry line- agree that Poetry is a great name for it and its such a pretty fabric line. very light and feminine. And very pretty. Hope your errands went well. Hey, CJ are you watching When Calls the Heart on the Hallmark channel? I was furious last night when they ended the episode so abruptly - of course leaving the viewer held captive until next week.
Kids were pretty good babysitting. Two more days to go for this week.
Maybe will stop back in later G

CJ, if those other fabrics you mentioned are as beautiful as the ones you showed us they definitely are very good choices for a quilt or, as Ginny said, a table runner or in fact a number of things
Ginny, I'm glad to hear the children were easy to take care of today.I'm sure that at least the little grandaughter is always happy to see you.I'd bet the baby is too.
Well I did get the "little blue guy" done. I think he looks pretty cute. I hope I can get Baby Yoda done today too. I feel like I'm working to get things done before a deadline but I don't really have a deadline. I just want to get these things done so that I can start on new things.
It started out as a nice weather day but I think it might possibly rain because it's clouded over however that doesn't always mean anything here. Tomorrow is supposed to be another 70 degree(or close) day but then Tues chance of snow then rest of the week it may even hit 80. I may have to do some yarn work cleaning up spruce cones and other winter debris from bushes, etc. Then there's always the spring cleaning I plan to do. We all have those pesky household chores.
Have a great day and I may stop in later

Oh my, where is everyone? I hope you are all ok
Gloomy day here. It was colder than yesterday and rained a lot. No sun.
I did pin all the pieces on Baby Yoda and will sew them on this evening. Haven't got much done today otherwise. Blue alien is done but I probably already said that. I might make another but probably not. I have a lot of things I want to make.

Oh dear....good thing I only wrote a little bit as it got lost.
Ruth, congrats on completing the shark. Were you able to finish Yoda? I know you indicated that there is no rush for them, when do you intend on giving them to your family?? As usual, I am shocked by the huge swings in temperature 70 degrees, then snow, then 80 degrees...when does your spring weather stabilize so that you can plant a garden? I have to laugh- read the sentence three from the end of your post. You have to do some “yarn” work cleaning up spruce cones? I am sure you meant yard work, but yarn work is a perfect description of a normal day for you. Not sure you consider crocheting “work” however.
I too have yard work to complete ( a lot) and some house work. Not going to be able to start much of that until Thursday. One last day of babysitting for this week. The baby seems to be teething- and while he is pleasant most of the time, he can explode into tears over nothing. I did get some crafting today- with Dgd#2. We made Indian teepees out of inverted ice cream sugar cones. it came out adorable and DGD promptly ate hers!!! (Ha ha ha).
So busy today, I have not gotten a chance to see the daily deal at Missouri star. Its supposed to be hot here tomorrow- mind you for me anything over 70 degrees is hot to me.
Hope that everyone has had a great day and got some crafting in! Ginny

Ginny, I guess we'll both be busy in our yards (not yarns...hahah). I didn't even notice that typo.Poor babies have to go through a lot. Teething is not fun for either baby or family.
I like this Yoda. He's a lot bigger than the last one I made and I did get larger eyes for this one too. I still just have the parts pinned on and not sewn on yet. I still have the shark to do. It doesn't have all that many parts to sew. The Strange planet alien is the one I finished but I think I have to do the eyes a little better.
It's to be warm again on Fri and sat (or maybe it was Thurs and Fri). supposedly it will be close to 80. Yes our weather sure is strange. As for planting outdoors, it's not safe to plant before about June 3rd. We decided not to bother planting tomatoes this year. It takes so much water and there is not a very big yield. So then I decided I'd plant flowers but sadly I must have thrown away all my flower seeds as I don't seem to have any.Maybe as it gets close to planting outdoors time I'll buy some plants. It's getting to be way too late to plant seeds.

Good morning all- Ruth for my area they generally say Memorial Day is when it’s safe to plant anything outdoors. So you are not much further behind. I am sure CJ’s earliest planting date is in early to mid May as she is further south than us. Got no idea for either Sue or Phyl as I do not know theirs weather patterns. Glad yoda turned out so cute.
Last day of babysitting for the week.
Unfortunately, had a package stolen from My home the other day. The company, Walmart could not have been more gracious and issued a refund. Ds has fully activated the ring doorbell I have so if that were to happen the whole event will be recorded. I get the feeling the porch pirate was following the fed ex truck as we know the package was stolen in 15 minutes. What a sick world we live in.

Hello Everyone Ruth - I'm glad you are happy with the Yoda you made. I agree that the weather is crazy, there are just a lot of wild swings in temperature that I don't remember from when I was younger. But we probably had them back then too and I've just forgotten I will always remember my father telling me to never plant any vegetables in the ground before May 10th (for our area). He used to have the most beautiful vegetable gardens, he really had a green thumb. Ginny - Hope your last day of babysitting this week goes well today. I'm sorry to hear about the package being stolen from your house, but I'm glad that Walmart was helpful about it for you. We have a lot of that happen around where I live and I agree that they follow the trucks and/or they are in cahoots with the delivery people. This is why I try to limit receiving packages at home. It's too bad though because I would order a lot more things if I wasn't so worried about the theft. Phyl and Sue - Hope you are doing well. The weather has been a lot warmer here, in the 80s, but it's supposed to cool down again this weekend. I'm glad since I'm not ready for that hot weather yet I have a lot of house/yard things going on this week and I always find them stressful. I'll be glad when I get them all resolved. I started on another project - a Double Irish Chain quilt. I'm using some of those fat quarters in the Little House on the Prairie fabric, I'm determined to use that fabric and I will never again buy a set of fat quarters that are so mixed in design and colors again . Here's a link to the video I saw that has a pattern I'm using. I may change the pattern up since I was watching another video (link below) today that showed a star block with a 4 patch inside it and I think it would be kind of neat to put star points around the 25 block from the Irish Chain instead of having the blocks with the open piece of fabric. Hopefully you can understand what I mean if you watch the videos. www.youtube.com/watch?v=90eN73Z5Zzs - Irish Chain www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuyOU1hsbOs - Star with 4 patch Take care everyone and have a great day!

Dh and I were just talking about packages being stolen. He ordered a couple things from Walmart last night and they told him that since those items are available in our local store that they would be delivered by the store at no extra charge. They were delivered safely but stealing is not really a concern here. You never know, though, when someone from elsewhere will follow the delivery vehicle. Sorry to hear that your's was stolen but I'm glad that Walmart was accomodating and refunded your money.
CJ, Yes house and yard issues are very stressful to me too. I hope your's get resolved without further stress. You have such great ideas for quilts!! I'm going to go look at those videos.
Today I just have to sew Yoda's sleeves on his robe and make a chain for use as a belt for the robe then sew his arms on and make him a nose and he will be completely done and I hope to get the shark done today too.He had so many parts. The little toes and fingers were easier to sew on than I thought they would be but did take time.

Just a quick hello-
CJ- double irish chain is easy to make...and looks so difficult!!! Good luck. And I understand, household issues are overwhelming- we don’t want to make the wrong decision.
Ruth. Glad Yoda is almost done and that he was easier to make than originally thought.
Personally I think Walmart was somehow hacked- and that the delivery truck was being followed. What a sick world.
Tomorrow is much more sane for me. Its humid and yucky here.....thankfully it ends tomorrow. Good night all Ginny

Good morning! Got interrupted by a new dishwasher installation....which was done absolutely on time (even a little bit early) and the installer was pleasant. Glad its done
CJ- this am I checked out the videos....well did not watch much of the double irish chain video as I have made one of them already.. I did like the red and white color scheme used, so pretty- and I do like red and white in quilts. the little house on the prairie fabric line- found some listed on Etsy and I see what you mean, ifs sort of all over the place . The fabrics are pretty but do not seem as coordinated as the Kansas trouble line. Think it will look great to add the star points (HST’s?) to the blocks. Will you be starting to work on that today?
Ruth, thanks for the heads up on the best press....at the moment I have a fair amount, but its possible to go through that very quickly.
Got a quiet day today. Have to go to the bank for a quick errand and to the store for a few shower related items. I am trying to take it easy today. Been a long week babysitting. Ginny
