Happy Monday Canners!
Wishes to all for a good last week of April- do you have an action plan for May? May is a B Day month for me- YES I CAN be below my goal weight on that 29th of May. A good incentive- since almost always my bday results in scale number reflection- it is what it is...
This is a busy work week, dental procedure (yuck!)hair color (yea!) My Healthy body goal will be to detour into the kitchen for liquid only between appointments this week, since I have been detouring into almonds or bananas or triscuits between clients. I am planning on seeing some clients in my office next weekend... will see how that goes after 13 months of home zoom.
I tried an easy youtube zoom this am, easy and fun- take a look at zumba_sulu
What is on your radar this week? sending waves to you all

Good Monday Afternoon, positive peeps!
Yes I DID" --get over to check on Old House yesterday and found that a squirrel had breached the exterior of the porch & come down into the front entrance foyer through a hole in the ceiling. I could see some nuts and debris on the floor beneath the hole, so I knew that's where he descended from. There used to be a light fixture there and the opening had been covered over with a little plate, which had fallen off. Anyway, I escorted said squirrel to the front door with a broom and put up a temporary cover on the ceiling, but now I have to figure out exactly where he got inside and put up a more permanent barricade. Arghh! --walk to one of Leslie's videos to get my steps --not sleep long enough...still working on that
Yes I CAN: --stay focused and productive today, not let the monkey wrenches throw me completely off course, LOL. Will think more about May goals....
Be well! Carol

Happy Monday Afternoon.
A good day today. We drove up to get my Sweetie's vaccine today (40 miles from home) and they were able to give me my shot too. That saves us going 40 miles x 2 tomorrow when my appt was scheduled. Also got my Medicare card in the mail. Now I proceed with Union Insurance stuff. This morning I stopped by my local Sprouts store for a few items and then it started raining. No rain barrels out but that's ok because I don't think my now vaccinated arm (or energy) will allow for toting water. So glad to see wildflowers out now.
Sally: My Bday is May too! I am also snacking too much. I haven't tracked for awhile, maybe I need to start again? It will help us all I think when we can feel more comfortable being out in the world again, dealing with people in person.
Carol: So sorry your squirrel moved in! I would not like them in the house! My "Earl" has three tiny babies, that romp and play now. I threw some outer leaves of lettuce out for them and OMG they LOVE that. Keeps them from eating my seedlings maybe? They did eat some already so I had to do something. Will have to check out Goldfinches. I don't think they are native here. I love to see the bright gold and black Towees.
May Goals: Walk more, cook more, donate some books to the library, track, and work on de-cluttering my bookcases. Do a bit of art? Get my knee looked at as soon as Medicare kicks in! My Jazzercise class is coming back soon.
Happy Karma to you all. Jan

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health!
Happy Birthday month to Sally and Jan soon, cyber party all month. Fruits, vegetables, zumba, nature walks, and wildlife watching.
Carol, sorry about the squirrel damage. I am fighting that myself, so far all cosmetic here. Fatigue is killer, I hope you get some rest soon. I love hearing about your park trails and retired golf course trails.
Sally, not eating when working from home can be challenging. Believe me, I have the jelly belly to show for it.
Jan hooray for wildflowers! They have been gorgeous here as well. Double hooray for shots. And the Earlitos sound just adorable. It almost sounds as though Earl is a woman?
Yes I did: weights and walk. Lots of errands - Wal Mart, Home Depot, hair cut, get gas, office supplies . . . library, look at office space . . . Thursday is my "get out of jail" day and so I feel comfortable doing stuff like that -- wearing a good mask and keeping my distance.
After much panicking about running out of work, got a phone call late last night. "Hi Judge, no I am not too busy . . ." Still not sleeping, four hours a night . . . I guess that must be all my body needs to function or else I would get more.
I continue to be OP. I know that my body will hold on to the "jelly belly" until I get some sleep but I am doing the right things to lose. Big NSV yesterday -- baked a loaf of bread for a fellow attorney's birthday and only had a tiny bite to make sure it is edible. Checked out a book on baking just to look at photographs, I am turning it back in before I do something crazy like bake a pie. Yes I can: finish cleaning house (started about 2 this morning, not sleeping, might as well). Work on project (Thank you God). Yard work/cleaning breaks/home ab circuit. Tonight: weight class, cardio, and walk with or without umbrella. I lost my good umbrella in the break up but bought two new ones at Wal Mart last night. May goal: go check on my folks without gaining back the weight that I have worked so hard to lose. Get to the point that I sleep more than four hours a night. I am doing prep work for not gaining MO, bringing about a case of tuna packed in water, will bring produce and buy it there. Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Tuesday Evening.
Ooooh, a rough day after shot 2. Felt like I had been drop-kicked through the Vaccination goalpost. We both slept most of the day. Better this evening though, so hopefully the worst is over. Yes, I think Earl is indeed a girl. She watches over those babies like a true mom.
Janet I hope you get more sleep tonight!
Back tomorrow.

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health!!!
Jan I thought maybe that Earl was a mommy squirrel. I am sorry about your vaccine reaction. I had a reaction to 1, but none to 2. I am glad that you are vaccinated!
Another sleepless night, in fact about half of what little I have been getting. Sigh. At some point I am going to get over that man and get on with my life -- but apparently not today. Yes I did: get my AC checked out in anticipation of what will undoubtedly be a brutal Texas summer. Glad that is done. Some law. Walk break, rowing machine, stationary bike, home ab circuit, and circuit class. Am now able to find my waist but much work to go. I called the personal trainer that I had been using until she got married and left the state. She gave me some good ideas to help my weight loss/fitness journey. What I liked most about her ideas is they were small changes and doable. She said just adding a little more exercise here and there makes a difference. (like even adding five more minutes a day) I have been taking walking breaks but not been really regular about them or keeping track of the time etc. She said three fifteen minute breaks. Weather iffy but I did buy two new umbrellas so will do what I can. She also gave me some ideas to try to shave a few calories (points) off of my already pretty strict diet.
Yes I can: More law (God is good, I have a little work. Whew.) Ab circuit. Try for three fifteen minute walking breaks. Tonight: yoga & barre class. OP/eat clean. Accept the fact that I will not get more than two or three hours of sleep a night and just live with it. Beating myself up over it changes nothing -- just makes me feel worse. I should have gotten out of bed when I realized at 115 a.m. that I was not going back to sleep instead of tossing and turning . . . Thanks for listening.
Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Wednesday Evening.
Woke up this morning feeling good. Happy Dance. I am so glad we are all fully vaccinated. The squirrels here are running wild! What have I done??? They live in burrows so don't have to worry about them moving in...yet. I saw the smallest baby squirrel ever today which makes me wonder how many families am I feeding. It was so cute. They LOVE romaine lettuce so I will probably be buying extra this summer so they leave my garden alone. It has worked so far.
Janet: Sleep is important. I hope you can find a way to relax and unwind your mind and body. Sending healing white light your way!
Yes I did... --water plants and feed critters. --two loads of laundry. --rested and read a bit. --cooked a healthy dinner.
Love to All.

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health!
Jan -thank you much for the healing white light! I slept more last night (despite an intense thunderstorm!), than I have in the previous two or three night -- PUT TOGETHER! I love hearing about your squirrels gone wild - on lettuce. I love lettuce myself. It sounds like you recovered from V2, awesome.
Yes I did: still OP. Home abs. Walking breaks. Triple header - rowing machine, yoga, and barre. Law. I have rented an office for today. If it works out will perhaps rent it on a daily basis off and on until library reopens. I think I will alternate it with coffee shops. Today is my GET OUT OF JAIL day -- two weeks past Pfizer II!! I actually got some sleep last night. Last night in bath could see the tiniest bit of definition in thighs. Be gone quarantine weight! Put off my trip a week due to poor weather. Last visit to see my folks it rained every single day and I would love to avoid that.
Yes I can: hopefully get into wifi in new office. Load up briefcase, put on lawyer clothing and go. Go home for lunch. I do not want to do anything that makes them want to boot me out -- including cooking something healthy/stinky. May be a bit rainy for walking breaks today. Leave early -- cardio and circuit class tonight.
Now find something adult to wear. Two solid years of almost never wearing my lawyer clothing! (blew out knee and then sheltering in place).
I know I shouldn't get my hopes up but somehow still am.
Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Good Thursday Morning positive peeps 🐥🐥!
Jan - hope you’re feeling better now. Yay for making it through the vaccination after effects! My experience was similar to yours (1st dose was easy, 2nd had me feeling quite wiped out) but my sweetie had the reverse. Oh well, glad we’re through it and on the road to normal, healthy life. Yes!
Janet - agree that small changes add up ...hooray for the good teachers in life. Yesterday my Taichi instructor ended with some inspiration from Robert Frost, you know, “the only way out is through”. Means so many different things but mostly that sometimes we just need to keep going not knowing when or how healing, understanding, transformation will occur.
Back later.... Be well! Carol

Happy Thursday.
Getting in here early this morning. Yes to feeling good again. Sitting here at my desk looking out at the Earl family eating while Earl watches from above for Hawks. Such a good parent. Not exactly OP but headed in that direction. I am going to a get-together (all fully vac) on Sunday and will make an angel food cake from scratch, which is just the best, and fresh strawberries. So I need to keep it real till then at least. Suppose to be hot here today and tomorrow so guess it's shorts weather for a day or two.
Janet: Yip-skip for Vaccine Freedom Day and for a little more sleep. Congrats on new office space and thigh definition. WTG! I have this feeling your luck is changing my friend in a good way. Be open and let it hit you.
Carol: I love "the only way out is through". True in so many aspects of life. Reminds me of a favorite saying... "Everything comes to you as a teacher. Pay attention. Learn quickly." Is your Tap dance still on? Just zoom still? Hope things start opening up slowly there if it's safe.
Have a Great Day! Hi Nat!

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Carol thank you for the wise and kind words, yes the only way out is through. I just keep putting one foot in front of the other. I hope you got in one of your fun nature walks or an online workout/class.
Jan angel food and berries -- sounds like something that would be worth every point. Thanks -I do hope my luck is changing.
Sally thanks. Yes it is a law office, I am paying cash on a daily basis. It is a friend and I am paying less than what it is worth so am going to try to alternate it with my home office and coffee shops. The unending rain complicates where I can go and what I can do -- outdoor seating not an option right now. You inspire me with your increased cardio. And healthy eating is always hard but has been especially challenging during this lengthy quarantine.
Yes I did: dress up like a lawyer and work in an office yesterday. I also left early and got in some cardio before circuit class. NSV: no to a delightful looking cake. Walking breaks not an option due to weather. I am trying to keep my footprint light at the office so that I do not wear out my welcome. I am sitting at the receptionist desk, arriving late, leaving early, and leaving for lunch. If I can work there two or three days a week it will greatly improve my world. I have been OP since about April 7th or 8th. I am seeing results but also seeing how far I have to go to be able to wear my lawyer clothing. Two years of working in shorts and t-shirts have taken their toll. (starting from when I blew my knee out in May of 2019). But at least I have been consistent with exercise/walking/doing my own yard. Yes I can: home circuit, spinning class, I cannot imagine with this forecast that walking would be an option. Never-ending rain. Oh well, I guess we need it. I am going to hit the supermarket also. Zero point and low point groceries. I am glad I got so many errands/chores done on Monday as my client called late last night (I am in a different time zone) and moved up a deadline. Needless to say, another sleepless night last night. Now, I will get to work on that deadline before sun gets up and I can start on workouts. Love, light, blessings, and good health.

Happy Friday.
Janet: Never-ending rain would be a win for us in SoCal, instead, we get a baking 83-degree heat. Just came in from watering plants, birds, and wildlife. We are all thirsty. Major HAPPY DANCE for being OP for so long and for getting your "big girl lawyer clothes" out and ready to wear. Maybe treat yourself to a new outfit? You deserve it.
Sally: Your cardio inspires me too. Fresh veggies and summer fruit are just around the corner. Until then I am with you just hanging in there. I start strong and finish less strong. When in-person WW meetings resume and are safe I will go back. I need that weekly fix. Are you still doing Noom? Two of my friends have started it. Recommend or no?
Hi Carol and Nat! Weekend is near.
Hugs to All,
Jan

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Jan Yes, treating myself to new shorts to replace the ones that I exploded (with loving-that-bread-machine-belly) as soon as I get closer to where I want to be. It is rewarding to see progress but still have a long way to go before dressing room mirrors -- LOL. I have plenty of lawyer clothes but would love new play clothes since I have been wearing them out since knee surgery time/working from home. I am glad you got outside with plants and wildlife. I am with you -- I am so ready for in person meetings. Hopefully, June or July.
Yes I did: three walks (two in the rain and one around the track at the Rec Ctr), spinning class, and home abs. Healthy shopping (everything, EVERYTHING in cart was zero point). Still OP and cooked up a bunch of fish for the week. Delaying trip due to weather and getting hired on a new job. Hooray. Bad news on Rec Ctr pool -- they found "black mold" and it will probably be unavailable until July. Darn it. I did my first outdoor mask-less gathering with a bunch of people last night. I did keep my distance. I am over two weeks past Pfizer II. Probably still outside my comfort zone and probably will not repeat for a month or so. Yes I can: home abs, gym circuit, probably nothing outside due to rain continuing (yes, I know we need it and it is a good thing but still hate it -- especially when working from home). I actually got a good night's sleep last night -- hooray -- so I might be able to focus enough to finish this memo today. Then Mass (restrictions are starting to ease up today but masks still required) and meeting a friend I have not seen in a long time for a movie. Movie is another first.
Okay, big girl pants and get to work! Love, light, blessings, and good health! janet
