Good morning friends. Slept pretty well and grateful. Also grateful that I 'see' no rain nor do I 'hear' any wind. Win win I'll get some good walks in today for sure.
Other than that, no agenda which is pleasing to me. Don't need a thing at Walmart or Hannaford's which is also a good thing.
Wishing all a good OP day and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy May Day!! I just turned over my calendar in my den and man! it seems like I just did this. Where did this month go? For me it just flew by.
Ann ~ Thanks for opening up the Cafe this morning. Love a day with nothing on the agenda!
We had a great time last night. The restaurant is seating only 50% capacity. They take no reservations, so it's 'first-come-first-served'. We checked in and then they took my phone number and told us to wait outside (or in our car if we preferred). It was quite windy and cool, so we opted for the car. Our friends (who are usually the first ones there) were not there yet, so we called them to tell them where we were. Though the hostess told us "about 35 minutes", it was only 9 minutes from my text that we were on the wait list until the text telling us our table was ready. We were fed and out of there one hour later!
We had quite the cool-down overnight, but it promises to go up to 70 today, and up to 80 tomorrow! I promised myself I'd get all my stretching done this morning, and then walk later in the day. Fortunately it isn't as windy as it was yesterday! I also don't have anything on my to-do list that is mandatory. I did one load of laundry yesterday and will probably do one or two more today.
My pot of split pea with ham soup came out good, except that I fear I over-seasoned it. I used Better Than Boullion which I had not used in that soup before and I think it took over. But we'll eat it anyway. DH had already mentioned having it for supper tomorrow night. I packed up a container to take to school Monday for one of my favorite teachers (the one who encouraged me to get it made).
Time for another cup of coffee and check the news for the day. BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi Sue. So happy to hear that you had a great evening out with your friends. Sounds like you had the same 'weather' as we did yesterday. Today appears to be better, and in a bit we'll hit the pavement I've done that before, Sue. My one and only suggestion is to add some water to it. That usually works well. Nice that you are going to share it with your friend at school. My day is planned and tracked. I had my 'Turkish Breakfast' along with a bowl of berries and a banana, lunch will be my soup and FF Greek yogurt and for supper we are having chicken on the grille with french style green beans mushrooms and a Rhodes crusty roll. I have plenty of my old time favorite hummus with petite baby carrots should I need to indulge. Coffee tasted extra special today and man did I need it LOL. Some mornings I just can't get enough Waving and shall CBL

Rats!! I just wrote a lengthy post and then it "poofed"! Let me try and recreate it??
Good Morning, Ann ~ Thank you for the tip about my soup. I had Googled it and that was one of the suggestions (to water it down). Another one was to add some lemon juice, which I already did. I will wait until tomorrow and see what DH thinks of it, as he suggested having it for supper tomorrow.
We had cinnamon bread toasted this morning with precooked bacon strips, and a fruit bowl of pineapple and strawberries. I sliced up the remainder of a large container of strawberries and sprinkled them with Splenda to have Strawberry Waffles one night this week. I also have a 6 oz container of ham that I took off the ham bone, which can go in a pan of scalloped potatoes.
I have a few chores to do around here then I plan to get out for a walk. BBL.

Never heard of the lemon juice but will have to try that one. Sometimes just letting it sit fixes it also. Good luck Your meals sound wonderful. We did take a nice hood walk. Lots of people out and about so it took longer to get through LOL. No big deal. Enjoy your walk.

Hey all,
I'm late posting today. Our DS came in at 8 last night and we held dinner for him. He requested an Italian dish from a nearby restaurant. He had Chicken PIccata, I had a salmon/artichoke risotto (which was fabulous and I had about 1/3 of it) and DH had his favorite Bolognese angel hair dinner. DS was exhausted as he had finished a big TO DO list that DDIL gave him, and worked all day, too. We watched some of a documentary about Mt. Everest - crazy people who climb it and I will never understand why they jeopardize their lives like they do. We were all in bed by 11 and today DS helped trim some high branches off a backyard large tree - that were starting to encroach upon the house. Then off he went after a breakfast I made of an egg/bacon/cheese english muffin he requested. I hope he has fun. It's chilly for golf but they don't seem to care - they will have fun and it's something to do besides celebrate with a few beers! He'll be back tomorrow as his event is near Boston and he's staying with a college roommate. Even being away one day, I could see he really missed his family. He was showing me the video camera footage of his little Aidan waking up today and eating his "green eggs and ham" breakfast! Cute.
I had a grueling day yesterday once the meeting started at 3. I did minutes till 5:30 and then had to hand in a final copy to the Trustees office by 6:30. I knew that would not happen as I had 6 pages of typewritten minutes, but I did get them in by 7:30 which was fine. OUrs was the last meeting of the day. Phew! Glad I finished before DS came home. I am still tired and had planned to get a lot done today in the way of clearing out another room. I just don't have the energy today. :-( DH is outside burning some brush from the limbs that were taken off the tree. He got his burning permit from the FD.
I finished my funny book and am now searching for another good one. I got one that was on reserve at the library but it just did not hit me as one I'd enjoy even though it's a huge bestseller. I don't like fantasy and mythical type novels. It is called The INvisible Life of Addie LaRue. If you have read it and loved it, let me know. Maybe I will give it another chance. I was tired when I started it and not in the mood.
Sue, I love how well you use all of your ham bone and waste nothing. That's great and I'll be the soup comes out good. I have also read about lemon or even a little vinegar helping out at times. Let us know how it came out. Your dinner sounded like fun. Sounds like you have the same rules we do on the time you can stay in a restaurant inside. Here it is 90 minutes, I am told. That's plenty of time.
Ann, your walk sounded great. It's pretty out today. I did attend my WW meeting and enjoyed that this AM. Time for a rest for me and then I will hit Stop & Shop, which is rarely crowded to get those F&V that we need to stay on track! DS also requested I pick him up several Cape Cod Cafe Frozen Pizzas that are only available here. THey are very good!
TTFN...I think dinner will be something easy on the grill for DH and me.

Hi All ~ I did get out for a walk, even though the wind kicked up something terrible! I will be glad when this windy season is over!! Now it is clouding up, even though it is trying to get to 60.
I wanted to share something with you gals, just in case. One of our news anchors did a special the other day on those little cards we were given when we got our COVID vaccine. (Did you get them?) Anyway, they were saying NOT to just throw them away, because at some point in the future we may be asked for them (for a number of different things). I had stapled ours to our paperwork and put them in a zipped bag in the safe (just for that very reason). Then the news anchor went on to say you don't necessarily have to carry them with you (who wants to?) but perhaps take a picture of them. I did that today, and stored the photos both in a folder named "Archived" on my phone for safe keeping. I happened upon the scan feature when I was doing mine, but wouldn't you know it? I couldn't find it for love nor money when I went to do DH's. But the photo came out good and it is there for safe keeping. That was one of the things on my to-do list for today and I'm glad it's done.
I finished up the last batch of Bean/Veggie Soup for lunch today and have all the makings for the next batch, so I think I will put it on overnight and then package it up tomorrow morning. DH has requested pizza for tonight, and he offered to make his famous salad to go with.
Judy ~ I'm so glad you're getting to enjoy your DS. It was funny that last night at dinner I was sharing what you said about the 90 minutes in restaurants out in CA. We weren't given a time limit, but the servers seemed to be keeping the crowd moving in a timely manner. That's a job I wouldn't want! But we just happened to note that to order, get our food, and eat and settle up, we were out in an hour.
I am back to doing laundry, so think I will go put a load in the dryer and bring up the bag of soup makings to start in the crock pot. I thawed out one small chicken breast to chop up in my soup.
BBL.

Judy good to hear from you. Like you, I tend to be a 'worry wart' also LOL. Sorry for you grueling day yesterday. Now that it's done I hope you can get some quality R&R in. That book doesn't sound like anything that would hold my interest. Your meals sounded delish. So happy y'all enjoyed them. LOL I have a hard enough time standing on a stool to get something off the shelf in the cabinet. I'll leave all that mountain climbing to those that are daredevils Sue when we had our last vaccination they presented us with a plastic card holder that fit the vaccination card. It has a magnet on the back, so they are on the side of our refrigerator for lack of a better place! Our second walk was much more enjoyable as the wind died down. Now it's just beautiful out there. After supper I'll see if Carl is game for another walk. I'm sure he will rise to the occasion. Pam hope all is well with you and your family. Will try to pop in later...if not catch y'all tomorrow.

Took our final walk of the day. Still nice out there. A bit too cool to sit in the screen room tonight but that's okay. I am now going to get jammified and relax with a cup of tea. I accomplished more than I anticipated. Things just fell into place. Gotta love when that happens Sweet dreams all..........

Hello dear friends!
I have just finished a lovely evening with DD1, Abby, Anna, DD2 and DH. We had boiled crawfish, potatoes, corn and mushrooms (which I skipped) at a table under the carport, since it was drizzling rain. We ended up buying the crawfish cooked and then boiled the corn, potatoes and mushrooms ourselves with a little crab boil added to the water when everything was cooked. That way, it doesn't stink up the house. It was a good chatty visit. Abby's coaches pitch team had just won a tournament. She has been surprisingly good at hitting the ball and seems to enjoy playing very much. Anna was more talkative tonight than she has been in a long time. She made our day by mentioning how much fun she had when we took her and Jude on vacation a couple years ago. I am so glad she has good memories of our trip! I am pretty tired now, having cleaned up the kitchen and washed the trays on which we eat crawfish. DH had already turned in.
This morning after a breakfast of yogurt, fruit and seeds, I walked 3+ miles at a good pace. Then I cleaned bathrooms, changed cat litter and cleaned the rug we use under the litter boxes to catch stray litter. Then I filled the bird feeders and the hummingbird feeders. I had to rush to get a shower before we headed to town. I picked up a prescription for me and most of the groceries we needed at Walmart. Then we picked up the boiled crawfish and finally, stopped at Super 1 for the remainder of the groceries we needed. I got everything on the list! We made it home just before DD2 arrived with Anna. DD1 and Abby were much later, as her game didn't end until after 6:00 and they were playing out of town. It was a leisurely evening and very enjoyable.
One sad thing: I got several text messages regarding my GNO buddy who is sliding into dementia. After her knee surgery, from which she has not fully recovered after 2+ months, she went to an assisted living facility. She gets very disoriented and apparently has called 911 so many times they had to disconnect her phone. She called one member of our group today and begged her to come and get her "from wherever my brother is warehousing me". She is in a very highly rated facility and seems to be well cared for according to those who have visited her. She had called another of our group to say she has no clothes and needs to be taken shopping. She does, of course, have clothes and her SIL recently sent her some new things. She just doesn't remember it. The whole situation makes me so sad. She is not able to live alone anymore and her family is doing the best they can, with her in LA and them in OH.
I want to say how much I appreciate your thoughts and prayers for DH. They are working because after ordering 3 different knee scooters, he FINALLY received one yesterday. It is much nicer than the last one and easier to maneuver,so he is using it lots. He will get his cast again on Thursday, unless they have an unexpected opening before then. Meanwhile, I am changing his dressing daily.
On a pleasant note: DD1's DMIL sent us a bag of assorted fresh vegetables today--celery, green onions, broccoli, beets and carrots. She had been to a farmer's market and wanted to share. She is such a sweet person. We had invited her to come tonight, but she already had other plans.
Yesterday, I went to look at some antique oak chairs a former boss/coworker had for sale. They turned out to be smaller and less sturdy than what I wanted, but we had a wonderful visit for over an hour. We have not spent time together in years, but used to be close many years ago. She has severe hereditary heart disease now and will undergo her 5th heart cath on Monday. She said she knows she will eventually have another heart attack, but is doing all she can to stay as healthy as she can.
I am heading to bed now. Too pooped for personals, but I enjoyed reading all that you have been doing. Sweet dreams!
P.S. Official WI yesterday shows I am below goal for the 8th WI in a row!
