Itβs a bit cooler until Friday so comfortable for outdoor walking. Leo has independent study but I will help him. Nora has in person school and since her babysitter Paige stays at the house, Iβll hand Leo over to her and buy a new pair of tennis shoes at the running store. Bob is so sweet. We are having grilled fish for dinner because in his words βI need to stick to my weight loss plan.β

Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...
Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and for those who need extra helpings of divine intervention at this time... and a few extra for all students whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid... and for those who mourn... and for peace in our nation.
And for Ann & Carl, as the review procedure for fostering continues with the home inspection.
ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅π
I'm up ridiculously early (3 AM eastern) so I know I'll head back to bed at some point. That's OK.
Yesterday was a good "recovery" day from our tree session at The Plantation. NASCAR Cup series was a relatively uneventful race until the final stage, when the caution flags started flying. And they had the 11th different winner in 12 races - Kyle Busch, in a "birthday gift to himself" after a long winless spell. Evening TV was <meh> but I did watch "Enola Holmes" on Netflix in the afternoon and enjoyed it.
We need to go to the library today but they don't open until 10 AM. And we need to deliver that load of firewood to the MousekeHouse. Maybe we'll do some yard work if the weather cooperates.
I also have to phrase a reply to DBabySis, who yesterday in texts brought up the KSMB (KressSibs Monthly Brunch). She thinks it's time to start it up again and DBigSis "is looking forward to it". But we're torn about it. Doreen wants it to be outdoors-only and except for the occasional barbecue, Toots does not enjoy eating meals outdoors. We're hoping that it won't be limited to Saturday any more because a brunch / lunch time on a Saturday just does not work for us. Russ was the one who wouldn't do a weekday, and neither girl wants to do breakfast, even if it's 9:30-ish. I decided that I didn't want to get into it yesterday; my brain needed the weekend off.
Coffee... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... just one cup... not that it will keep me awake...
πππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! πππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππ

I will:
* track every BLT on IB * Hydrate * Walk at least 30 minutes * Stay within points * Have balanced meals
Talked to son back from international business trip - said it went well. Granddaughters qualified for Southeastern long course swim meet finals and were off to a swim meet in Pensacola after talking to us.
I have decided to commit to Conquer Cravings/old WW points program for a month and see how it goes. No waffling, all food but non-starchy veg will have points and will see how it goes. I remember that at this weight (or around it) in 1998/9 the scale broke and I committed to the program but could not weigh myself and at that point weight loss had plateaued...not weighing for a period of six weeks forced compliance and at the end I did see a drop on the scale. I will continue to weigh daily BUT will consider the six week weight from now to see how I am doing...hope to break through the plateau as happened back then.
Today I may make something with the spinach. We have a LOT of spinach. We could have it with onions and bulgur or put it into wraps with other veggies and hummus or baba ganouj or...something. I know we won't starve!
Yesterday we had strawberries, loquat and grapefruit from the garden. I don't know which fruit will be ripe first this year but perhaps plums or apricots then mulberries and wild plums? Hmm...
I want to thank ALL of you for being here for me, being my sounding board, and assisting me to persevere in this journey back to goal weight!
AUDREY: How sweet of your husband to want to help you stick to your weight loss plan! What kind of fish will you have? I saw photos of the birthday - looked grand! I am glad that Indiana returns home after he wanders!
ANN: Sending positive thoughts your way as you prepare for your zoom fostering meeting.
BECKY: Thank you for sending me back to my weight loss journals to see what was what. Fingers crossed that by the end of the month I will show another drop on the scale and increased activity/Strength/flexibility!
MJ: I hope that your husband and his siblings can figure out a way to get together again that works for all. Perhaps not a meal but coffee and snacks or cake or something? Keep us posted! Your day of tree removal sounds marvelous! The RussStuff does NOT sound marvelous.
JUNE: I need to add in activity again. The weather is nice enough that I can do so. I won't walk outside because the path I use is covered with grass and difficult but I could start lifting weights, walk inside, go to the basement and use elliptical or air walker. I need too commit to that as I have committed to tracking on ITB. I will walk 30 minutes today while reading. All the programs suggest exercise...but...I am not a lover of exercise so find reasons NOT to do it. I feel better when I do exercise and need to make it a habit again. It will definitely help me lose and tone up if I start doing the weight training!
LADONNA: Core worked and so did Conquer Cravings...both use the same points counting system. I think for now I need the accountability of counting points for everything so will start with that and then perhaps go on to Core later...once I break through the plateau or perhaps when I reach goal weight. I am NOT exercising but need to get moving on that again. That said, I checked and the weight loss is about the same with or without exercise...go figure! Pam seems to have disappeared. I sent her a birthday greeting on Facebook and she responded. I contacted her daughter last time she disappeared and she showed up for a bit then disappeared again. I won't ask again but maybe she just needed a break of something?
SUSI: Your day sounds marvelous and it sounds like the projects around the house are coming along nicely. I probably can't change the foods available as the economy plummets and food becomes less available but I can change the amount I eat and my activity level SO will focus on those things. I know I will get to goal weight again. So glad to hear Gracie is alive and well! Ferals have in the past left for a few days or a week and I have given up on them...sometimes they return and sometimes they don't...glad she returned an is okay!

Bob is so sweet, Audrey. Happy shopping. Ann - Hugs and prayers. I'm sure it will go well. Stay cool Becky. It was unseasonably and uncomfortably warm yesterday. Spring sure is changeable! MJ - They have to realize that the last year has radically changed life and the monthly brunch also needs to adapt. Cathy - While you can certainly lose weight without exercise, it really does help you maintain muscle tone. Weight bearing exercise is very important for maintaining strong bones. You'll figure it out. Hi, Bee, LaDonna, anyone I forgot I didn't sleep well; normal for a Sunday night. Yesterday was a nice day - breakfast with our friends before they returned to Long Island, bridal shower, stopped by another friend to see how her renovations were going and then crossword puzzles on the deck. Today should be busy at work as the bar reopened this weekend. We are hoping for more roll backs on the restrictions from the governor today as the COVID numbers keep dropping. The tourist and hospitality industry, which is huge in NJ, really has been hammered.

We took a hood walk that was cut short as we were gabbing with Debbie a fur baby lover. The conversation lifted my heavy heart. She is in the process of making us a stained glass of LuLa. I had no clue as to why she wanted a picture of LuLa....now I know. Bee have fun with Liz Sorry you didn't sleep well Susi. Praying that the roll backs on restrictions happen. Sounds like you had a fun Sunday. Cathy great goals and thanks for your well wishes on the fostering zoom meeting. I'm praying that this will be the LAST of it and that they make up their minds. It's the 'not knowing' and all the ups and downs that is getting to us. Still waiting for the breeder to get back to us. That won't be until the end of this month. MJ thanks for the prayers. I'm feeling anxious about it...then I tell myself what will be will be. I feel like a ping pong ball LOL. That is an ungodly hour to be awake. I hope you get a nap in at some point today...or at least some nice quiet time to relax. Thanks Becky. Hope you find what you need at HEB. IT's getting a bit humid as we are in for rain. Carl is out there mowing the lawn before it starts. I just hope it's DRY for the zoom as I don't feel like walking around the yard in a downpour LOL. Again thanks for all the wonderful uplifting thoughts and prayers. You gals are the best

Almost typed--- Goooooood morning--- then Zi realized that morning was long passed So, Gooooooood afternoon
Ann Will send up extra prayers for your Zoom meeting. LOL. You & Carl clean up well . . . That should make a solid impression! You have a nice home and walking environment.
Audrey Thanks for the start. I was busy last night until 9:30 PM. How sweet of Bob to support you in that way. π Who is older, Leo or Nora? Hope that the independent study period goes smoothly.
Bee Sounds like a whole lot of fun. Your comment made me think of my Mom & smile. Whenever Mom was setting off to an activity or a visit she would exclaim that it was time to shake, rattle, and roll.
Becky Hope that the heat is not too oppressive when you are helping Kenneth. How were the berries today? We have some frozen strawberries and blueberries; but those are not our favorites. Actually, weusually only buy frozen strawberries to put into jello. Cathy Your commitment will pay off! As our Bee points out, one plan does not fit all. And I think that also means it does not fit us inthe same way during our weight loss & maintenace journey. While walkingcanbe the easiest thing to do, sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Finding something that you enjoy and is "doable" where you live is very helpful. My sister, f ex, likes Zoom and YouTube aerobic classes that she can do indoors.
Mj Glad that your Sunday was a day of physical recuperation. I can appreciate why you just didn't have the energy to "go there" to work out logistics of the Kressling family breakfasts or brunches. I also understand that your empathy and organizational skills usually puts you in charge of such things. Maybe Toots can tell his family the circumstances that under which he wouldbe willing to meet. Maybe he can identify a park or garden with outdoor dining that is convenient for all.
It is a highly personal decision of how to handle the transitional period of COVID-19. But family & friends can get very offended when others are not onboard with their approach.

MJ, perhaps each Kress family member can be in charge of a different month for the brunch since there are so many differing opinions. Cathy, apricots are always the first stone fruit to ripen here. Citrus is a different season. Susi, the hospitality industry all over the world has been hammered and it will take a while to resume. Bob has two beers on a Sunday night and it works like a charm to make him sleep. Bee, great that Liz is visiting you and all is well in Beeville. June, Leo is 8 and Nora is 6. Leo had a doctor's appointment early this morning and when he got home Paige and I decided he should work on Scholastic rather than doing the math test. He could do that later. Ann, hope the appointment goes well today. Becky, berries vary so much in price here and it is a gamble to know which store will offer the better price. The Market had blueberries on sale for $3.99 a carton saying the regular price was $7.99 I have never seen them charge $7.99 nor would I pay that much for a small container.
I have a new pair of men's gray New Balance tennis shoes. They are more comfortable than women's in the same size. Call me Big Foot.

The zoom interview went well and wasn't long or drawn out. The gal we had it with was very nice and funny. Put us at ease. She was from New York and Carl asked her if she read a book from an author that wrote a story about a Boston Terrier....come to found out she was the author of the book You Had Me At Woof. One of our neighbors in the park gave us that book after we had to put Luigi down. Small world.
Anyway, we will be contacted once they have a Boston Terrier either male or female to foster out.
Thanks for all your well wishes.
We took another hood walk and now it looks like we are going to get the rain. I'm just happy it didn't happen when we were walking around the house. Our age or the fact that we don't have a fenced in yard didn't upset her in the least. We just hope that it happens soon.
