Each day, think about the positive actions that you made the day before and identify the challenges you are working on. Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join. If you are the first one to post each week, please copy, paste and get us started. If you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas for following the plan.

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Carol I am glad that you got to walk before drizzle hit. We have plenty of that here lately. Sunshine yesterday though which was lovely.
Yes I did: finish memo, weights, home abs, walk, and mow that huge yard. Also a monster load of wash. First nice day in a week and I took advantage of it -- good feeling of accomplishment but missed my Sunday fun. I continue to be OP but getting a little sloppy about portion sizes. Will re-look at that on "turn the page" Monday.
Yes I can: follow up on new job. Spinning class. (after that monster yard better not chance any more weights). Home abs. Reward self with pedicure. Journals. God is good and I had a good night's sleep and I am grateful for that. Now getting dressed and checking mail. love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy May Monday,
Yesterday was a bit rainy on the coast. Didn't see that coming. But clear and cool at my inland friend's house. We had such a lovely day with 5 beautiful, strong women (all full Vac). Chatting and having wine around the pool. I want a sofa/firepit! So cozy and fun. Cake turned out yummy and I made homemade strawberry ice cream. Janet if you ever want tips to making this cake let me know. I have made it many times and have learned a lot from the Food Network. LOL.
Sally: Sending you peaceful vibes and a great WI on Friday. You can do it!
Janet: Happy Laundry! Glad you got a little rest from the precip. and movie date with a friend. When I am out in the world I don't eat or even think about food so much.
May Challenges: Move more. Portion control. Cook more. (I know that seems weird but eating out is a danger zone for me).
Happy Spring.

Good Monday Evening, positive peeps 🐥🐥!
Janet - yay for finishing memo and mowing! Enjoy your pedi reward.
Sally - sending skinny vibes for WI. How did you feel doing in-person work?
Jan - your party sounded like lots of fun...did you save me a virtual slice of that yummy cake? And just a li'l scoop of ice cream? Yay for portion control in May. I hear you re: the dining out danger zone...I am wondering how I will do once things get back to "normal", which for me included lots of diner breakfasts and portions.
Nat - hope all is well with you.... sending hugs!
Yes I DID: --neighborhood walk before breakfast...aiming to make early walks more of a habit, as it gives my day a really good kickstart --taichi and circuit zoom classes --grocery shopping
Yes I CAN: --get up a little earlier for morning walks --declutter 15 minutes every day, no matter what.
Be well!
Carol

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Jan I am glad that you got some rain. I used to love it when I lived in the desert. I already have cake flour and will take you up on the pointers -- once I have an event to bring a cake to. I like the idea it is lighter and can be served with fresh fruit. Eating out is definitely a danger zone for me and I try to avoid it all costs.
Carol - I like the idea of kickstarting your day with exercise. You go girl! Two zoom classes on top of it. WTG! You have inspired me to declutter, I am making progress on that front as well.
Yes I did: home abs, spinning class, and some yard work. I did reward myself with a nice pedicure. Just for practice, I got dressed up. I was able to wear something in my closet I had not worn in a bit, tight but got into it. I can now see (1) progress and (2) how far I have to go. Yes I can: home abs and short walk before going into newly rented office. My form of de-cluttering is going to be to bring two briefcases full of journals to read and then recycle. I am expecting a file on a new job sometime today as well. Tonight: is my outdoor exercise class and then more in yard. Now, just to get dressed! love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Star Wars Day, positive peeps! May the fourth be with you!
Yes I did: —see a rare visit to the suet block by the big Pileated Woodpecker who usually hangs out in the high branches of our big old maple tree —zoom FitSteps Cardio Dance —manage to get a 2.7 mile walk during the hour the sun peaked through the clouds on this mostly spritzy day.
Yes I can: —enjoy eating popcorn later as we watch some Star Wars movies at home
Be well! Carol

Happy Tuesday.
Started the day with a walk with artist friend who had been traveling so I got to hear all about it. Camping, even in a beach campground, is not really my cup of tea. Her and her husband are former rock-climbers so I guess they are used to it. I spent the rest of the day building a bird netting "cage" around my raised beds. Squirrels have been munching again. They don't seem to like my zinnias so that's a plus, but cilantro and parsley are apparently yummy to squirrels. Saw a beautiful Oriole today, and my doves are now sitting and feeding in my rather small hanging feeder. Hope they don't break it!
Carol: I thought of you and Sally as I watched the Today Show. Aren't you getting a big storm coming your way? Watching what damage it did in Atlanta. May it pass you by. When I am done here I will look up Pileated Woodpecker. They are shy birds here. I hear but don't often see them. And my favorite line from Star Wars... "there is only do or not do, there is no try", or something like that. I think a morning walk gets me going but at about 4pm I am really beat. then I usually ask myself why am I so tired...oh, yeah, I walked early.
Janet: The nice thing about Angel Food is you don't have to frost it and it is great with sweetened berries of any kind. Yay for wearing clothes that you haven't worn for a while. I'm jealous but I know you've worked really hard for this. WTG!
Nat: Hope all is well. The way out is the way through.
Sally: Big Hugs to you with everything that has been on your plate this past year.
Sweet Dreams All,
Jan

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health!!
Carol, what a treat to see a woodpecker! Also, dancing, walking, popcorning, and star war-sing. Hope that everything was as fun as it sounds!
Jan walking sounds fun and I love hearing about your projects in the yard. I also like cilantro and parsley and I figured out a long time ago that I am "squirrelly" . Yes, I was able to squeeze into one outfit Monday but failed on one yesterday. Oh well, at least I had the courage to try it on!
Yes I did: home abs, walking breaks, yardwork (not the fun kind), bike, and weight training class. I have been OP for about a month now and it is time to look at portion sizes on zero point foods. (and of course salt, salt is always a thing). I got on a more reliable scale last night and it was not good news. Also, tried on a dress that I hadn't worn in a while and made myself take a hard look in the mirror . . . neither of those things were good news. Oh well, pandemic 15 pounds are a thing so I definitely am in the "in crowd". LOL. Trying to be gentle with myself about the weight I have gained - before pandemic there was knee surgery. And my pool closed! Most of these clothes have not been worn in over two years. I also made a dent in two years worth of journals yesterday. Wow. Then the file on the new case arrived on my doorstep and I will start on it today. Thank God I have work!!
I have rehired the maid: I now have some place to go while she cleans due to renting an office, we are both double-vaccinated. I am straightening up so she can find the house to clean it. Yes I can: stay OP, be mindful of salt/portion sizes. Home ab circuit, wash, walking breaks, tonight -- a "double header" with barre class and yoga. Wednesday is newsletter day and of course start the new job. Big box with new file. I haven't had the courage to open it yet. Sunshine today which means hanging out wash!
Love, light, blessings, and good health to each of you.

Good Morning!!!!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
I hope that each of you are doing well.
Yes I did: continue OP, looking at portion sizes but much too hungry to change them. LOL. As of tomorrow, one month OP. I can see some definition in abs and legs, much work to go to fit into my pre-knee surgery outfits. I did do home abs, walking breaks, rowing machine, and then a double-header (yoga class and then barre class). I looked up what a typical day in a "fat farm" would be and am trying to approximate it as much as I can and still work full time.
I called to thank the guy that took me to the ER when I blew my knee out on Town Lake as I do every year on its anniversary. I told him I would love to see him but no food can be involved. I am learning if I draw a hard line up front that people understand better that food is not going to be a part of our social encounters. I have to accept that other people have better metabolisms than I do and if I ever want to get into my wardrobe that I cannot cheat any at all. I even thought of a response to my least favorite diet sabotage line of all, "Oh, but it is so good for you.". My response is, "I am not saying it is poison, just that I cannot burn it off." And to, "just a bite won't hurt", "it is easier not to start than to stop". I hope that helps one of you. It is helping me.
Yes I can: stay strong, no cheating. Home abs. Walking breaks, cardio and weight class tonight. My maid and I have both been vaccinated so she is coming today. I am grateful for the office I have rented. It is helping my mindset a lot. I love my home but being here 24/7 has been tough. Okay, going to make myself try on a scary dress this morning. Better to know, and it might even fit! Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Thursday. I thought I had checked in yesterday...well, getting here early so I don't forget. Not much going on today. Perhaps a grocery shop, no gardening cause I am pretty sore from the past few days. Yes, I did... --get my desk all cleaned up and things filed. --started a new book...The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. Good so far! --started a new jigsaw last night. --do too many sets of stairs yesterday. We live on a hill so many changes in elevation in the garden and I've been repotting all my seedlings that I started last month. Janet: Hope your dress fits perfect. Enjoy your nice, freshly cleaned house and spa eating. That's a good idea. Treat yourself like you are someone you love. Big Waves to all, Jan

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health!
Jan I noted book. Thanks. The office I rented is across the street from our library so I will look for it. All those stairs and all that gardening sound so fabulous!
Yes I did: stay OP and beginning to try to look at portion size of zero point foods. Today, if I stay OP, will mark a solid month of OP-ness and some pretty tough workouts. Yesterday: walking breaks (more fun from office/office than home office), home abs, rowing machine, and circuit class. I did fit into that dress. I absolutely can see results in the mirror and believe that if I can keep this up for another couple months I will be pretty close to where I want to be. I know I have an out of town trip in there at some point but have warned both my parents that I am on the strictest diet I have been on in decades and no cheating/splurging/restaurants. My version of decluttering is trying to get through all the books on my bookshelves. People know I love to read and always give me books. I am reading a chapter, if it doesn't grab me, putting it in the "to donate" bag. I have gone through about ten really quickly that way. But, will "treat myself like someone I love" and take a break from that soon and check out some books. The maid came back yesterday after a 14-month absence. Nice to be in a clean house! Yes I can: home abs, spinning class, walking. Working this afternoon. I was going to take off and mow but it looks like the rain chances have dropped enough this weekend that I can do it over the weekend. Now, get dressed and get started. Mail! love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

My Thursday post disappeared again....I think it was because I composed it on my iPad and then the wifi had a little glitch, oh well.
Good Friday morning, positive peeps 🐣🐣!
Jan - yay for cleared desk and wonderful gardening. I still need to plant seeds, this is the time in my Zone.
Janet - you are so inspiring, with your rigorous training program on your own. I am not so disciplined, very grateful that there have been some good Zoom classes for me to do, as I seem to do better when I have a structured class at a specific time. That's such a good mantra, treat yourself like someone you love! Yes!
Waving to Sally and Nat! ❤️
Yes I DID: --FitSteps Cardio Dance yesterday morning --enjoy my cello lesson. Grateful I have a patient, encouraging teacher. --nice hike in the nature preserve yesterday afternoon. It was beautiful, cool and sunny after several gray, damp, days. Lots of birdies. Stunning carpets of marsh marigolds at the creek crossings.
Yes I CAN: --stay focused, stay positive!
Be well! Carol

Hi Canners! Yes I did do my monthly WW WI and squeaked by without paying. I WOULD like to have more of a safety net -will see what I can do- 12K steps completed planning for IN-OFFICE kid clients tomorrow and then some friends for a happy hour who have not seen our not-so-new abode. I admire your activities Jan and Carol- and its fun to hear all your nature commentaries- I DO enjoy the squirrel familiy that lives in a pine tree-ish- out my den window:)
Happy weekend to all-

Happy Friday mid morning, Today marks the 3rd anniversary of my Mama's passing. I have thought of her so often lately as life gets back to some semblance of normal. Little things, like cracking macadamia nuts, which we used to do together and she loved to do, bring quiet sadness. How can someone be so fully in your heart and yet you still miss them like crazy? Sally, I think of you and how new life is without your Mama too. Yes, I Can... --do the grocery shop I didn't do yesterday. --stow away the Easter Decorations...wow those have been hanging out in the house too long. Shed time! --take a short walk and enjoy the sunshine. Janet: I can relate on giving away books. Some that I have read and loved are hard to part with! I do have 2 friends and our neighborhood little library to share books with but I still have a lot. So good for you letting go of books. Yes, you can most often tell if a book's going to interest you in the first chapter. Yay to your dress fitting perfectly! Yay to a month OP!!!! Carol: I think it takes great discipline to do Zoom classes. WTG! Your walk sounds lovely with wild flowers and wild life. Plant some milkweed for the Monarch Butterfly. Right now I am looking out my office window at a Monarch just sitting on my clothes line pole. Mom...? LOL Well, I did ask for a sign today. Nat and Sally: Hope all is well. Happy Mother's Day Weekend. Jan
