Today is Hayes’ 4th birthday so the 4th is with him all day.
The heat has returned, 92 today and 97 tomorrow. The vegetable garden needs to be weeded but it may have to wait till Tuesday when it’s supposed to be cooler and I can weed right after breakfast. I have a manicure and pedicure this morning. I need to find out if Leo’s dentist appointment is today or Wednesday. Dinner is grilled sausage and grilled corn on the cob with a green salad.

I will continue to PTMH and KOKO. I will be walking before going to Walmart for a few things we need.
Audrey Happy Bday to Hayes. It was 93 yesterday but will only be up to 82 hopefully Tuesday with continued wind. When it gets this hot the wind does feel good even with humidity.
Ann I'm so happy the interview went well and hope you get to foster soon.

Good morning girls. slept well and grateful. Audrey happy bday to Hayes. LOL to the 4th being with him all day Enjoy your manicure/pedicure and hope it does cool down for you. Love grilled sausage. Becky also hope it coos down for you without the wind involved. Happy Walmart shopping. Happy to say Carl got an email stating that we have been accepted to foster. A coordinator will be in touch with us and also a 'go go to' person should we need help or have questions along the way. There is also a website that they will hook us up with to 'talk' to other foster parents. Looking forward to learning the ropes. I may have mentioned that the first Boston you are not allowed to adopt unless under special circumstances. If the Boston is not a 'good fit' you are asked to keep the dog until he/she can get placed again. That could take up to 2 weeks. We have no problem complying with that or any rule. So far no rain but looks like it's coming. Waving and again thanking y'all for the prayers and support. It was greatly appreciated by both of us.

Gooooooopd morning
Ann Yippppppeeeeee! Cannot wait for you to met your first foster BT. So funny that Carl asked about the author -- and it was her.
Glad that you could walk off some of that nervous energy. And that the rollercoaster has come to a stop.
Audrey Thx. . . I was not sure if Nora was older or younger than Leo. That's a great age for having fun with kiddos. We have had a couple 80 degree dayshere and there. So strange weather for us.
Bee Love that flower. Coral and peace are my fav color of flowers.
Becky Hope that you can enjoy a walk outside before the heat sets in. Wonder what you will find in the meat and produce sections today.
Cathy, Mj, LaDonna, & Susi I read yesterday's post. LOL. . . but I do not trust my memory. Spent yesterday helping my niece hammer out a scholarship letter. So the gray cells are tired. Will later focus & post on what's happening in your world today instead. Otherwise I will try to give a Mj a grandchild named Gracie who recently went to Isle of Palm and enjoyed homemade hummus w/ fresh vegetables & fruit.

Tuesday's goals Enjoy a mug of Irish Breakfast tea. Check my school e-mail Decide whether to dig into the Medicare decision-making process. Have a clear handle of the options. I just have a few couple fairly specifics questions.
Although it was a lot of work, helping my niece with her letter was interesting & worthwhile. She has had an admirable career as an innovative educator & now reformer. She tried to strike the right balance of providing a big picture with enough details but not get bogged down.

Stringing the OP KOKO days together. We had a good rain yesterday and it is sunny and beautiful today but also a chance of storms. Typical weather for this time of year here. I need to come up with a dinner plan and I am all set. May pick up something to grill otw home or use some chicken I cooked last night in a a recipe. That's what I should do. Ann, I am so excited for you! Soon you will have a sweet BT to shower with love..win win for all Audrey, HBD to Hayes - what a great 4th! Becky, hope the walk and Walmart goes well. June, so kind of you to help your niece and learn something in the process. GL with the Medicare decision making - I bet it is a lot to consider and figure out. Bee, that was the most beautiful flower yesterday - thanks for sharing. BBL -

I will: Track every BLT on ITB, make healthy meals, hydrate, move, stay positive
I have done 30 minutes of walking and some other exercises. I made a new recipe that was tasty and that I might make again in the future though I can't follow the recipe exactly since I added things...as I usually do. Scale is still at 166.6 and I have been within points all week. I have a book to read/skim and post a review for as quickly as I can...due today though the blog tour is tomorrow. Ah well...
SUSI: I hope that business will improve and restrictions be alleviated as covid-19 case numbers drop. Your weekend sounded wonderful! I am beginning to walk again and adding in some other exercises. The trick is to sustain the movement! I can see excess skin after the weight loss so far. After 20 more pounds...not sure what the skin will look like! I can definitely see more wrinkles on my face BUT would rather be lighter with excess skin and wrinkles than heavier as I was a year ago!
BEE: Enjoy Beeville and your time with Liz! That hibiscus is GORGEOUS!
ANN: The fostering group would be nuts not to accept you! How exciting to have been approved and do hope a pooch will arrive to be loved up by you and Carl soon! It must be hard to let dogs go when one fosters them! If you do get a dog from somewhere would you foster, too? How long has been the longest a Foster has stayed...did they mention how long most would be with you?
JUNE: I used to enjoy weight training and walking with a friend. Have not had a friend to walk with for a LONG time. I will get back to the exercise and the scale will move again. I have a feeling my body is just taking a break, recalibrating, tightening up ligaments and bones and stuff and will go back to loss mode when it is ready. I don't mind eating this way so...it will all work out as it is meant to when it is ready to do so. What kind of scholarship does your niece want? Is it for college or graduate school or??? I see she is in a career...does she want to go back to school?
AUDREY: I think that men's shoes are "roomier" or something. I am glad you like your new tennis shoes! I remember HOT summers in Loma Linda/San Bernardino/Fresno...almost as hot as Saudi Arabia sometimes!
LADONNA: Conquer Cravings is an I Track Bites program that is one of six on the app. Four are free programs with two to be paid for. This diet is like the early WW programs that based points on fat, fiber and calories. They have one similar to Points Plus and Smart Points, too with calorie counting as the 4th free version. The paid versions are Keto and Better Balance and Better Balance is like Freestyle (I think). So...am trying what I started out on almost a year ago and what I lost on in 1998/9. Will see how it goes this month. I seriously wonder if the vegetarian proteins are part of the slow-down. I rarely have been or chicken or anything but eggs and beans and dairy.
BECKY: How do you stay cool on hot days? Do you ever go swimming?

First - Congratulations Ann and Carl. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. LOL June on brain fog. I don't envy you figuring out the Medicare options. At least I have until I retire before I have to figure it out. The company that does our benefits fortunately has a dedicated Medicare person I can talk to when the time is ready Happy birthday to Hayes. Weeding is my least favorite task. Enjoy your mani/pedi Becky - Glad it is a little cooler for you today.

Bee - What a beautiful flower. Hope you and Liz are having fun. Hi MJ Good for your for stringing together OP days, LaDonna. Cathy - Do you think you might do better with just a weekly weigh in instead of daily? I know for me it is just feedback but some people are bothered by it. Exercise and lots of moisturizer will help with the skin. Payroll program computer issues slowed me down yesterday and I had my first late night of the season. I'm playing catch up. Otherwise life is quiet.

No walking this morning. We had an unexpected t-storm with another 1/2” rain. I did walk 35 minutes in the house. It looks like it’s clearing now. We are on our way to Walmart and the PO. Hope to walk outside this afternoon although they are talking about more wind. Hopefully it will still be a north wind by then.

Cathy, thanks for the ITB info. Hope the new approach works! Susi, I bet this season will be wide open given the fact that everyone is wanting to get out and enjoy after the spring/summer shut downs last year. I also do not like weeding OR dusting LOL Becky, good for you getting that walk in despite the rain

The company that does our benefits fortunately has a dedicated Medicare person I can talk to when the time is ready We got really lucky - our tax guy knew a guy (LOL) who is our age and works with folks to find their best health insurance / Medicare / Part D options. I don't know "what's in it for him" but I know that we didn't pay him anything and we've got plans that work really well for us.
