Liz, I hope you made it through the commute gauntlet okay without re-triggering your recent bout of fever and fatigue. Glad the Covid test came back negative. Itβs good news that Zoe is doing better. I am sorry to near about DSM and her fall. I hope she is sensible about rehab. Good luck to Gary tomorrow.
Iggy is working on cornices to cover the drapery rods in family room. He hates fabric valances and grommet drapes, so we have the box pleat drapes you can open and close with cord. I am not crazy about blinds and shades. He is picky about furnishings and so am I and we often argue about furniture, rugs and window treatments. πππ
Karen, congrats to Dale on his second place finish. Is he still feeling well after drying off in the wind? Is it still raining there? We may get some showers or even a thunderstorm. It is very cloudy. It rained yesterday and the restaurant patio did not have a cover so Iggy and Work wife went inside. He said there were only 10 people there so they were spaced out, but the food was pricey and not worth the cost.
Kathy, please donβt malign the grapevine. Itβs the only move I remember from aerobics classes.π Too bad you didnβt get to fly the coop with DS. Those two degrees from 97 to 95 must be a relief. π I think I have Covid anxiety. Even though I am fully vaccinated I am still leery of shopping, restaurants, activities with strangers.
Linda, allergies are a little better here with the rain but I still have post nasal drip. Last year I tried gardening with the mask but I got so hot I had to take it off. I hope you were able to walk Micki last evening.
Becky, happy belated birthday to Scooter. I am sure she enjoyed her frosty paws. I hope you have it a little cooler for your walk. Hope you get some more rain.
I need to get my workout in. Have a good day.

Thanks for the galactic start, Chele. I totally forgot what day it was. Here's a little Star Wars humor:
Why is Yoda such a good gardener? He has a green thumb.
What did Yoda ride as a kid? A do-cycle, beause there is no tri.
What droid always takes the long way around? R2-Detour
Anyway, I love your MetroParks take on the day. What do you have blooming in your new avatar? I love the colors! Good luck to Iggy on the cornices. We are both drape/blind haters and only have them on the windows in the bedroom for night time use (we need to get a set for the guest bedroom as well but haven't done it yet--yes, we have been here 5+ years; that's a way to ensure guests get up earlyπ). With our west-facing great room windows, it can get a bit warm in the summer afternoons, but we have just learned to deal. We have going on 3" of rain since about bedtime and it's still coming down. We will probably get at least 4". Did you catch the 9-1-1s last night? I think we'll watch them tonight.
Kathy, are you heading for a record high today? I was watching a little of the Weather Channel at the gym and it looked like there were a number of FL cities expecting those in the next day or two but I didn't see of Orlando was one of them. We had several ducks in the cove when the rain was really coming down. I know they are water fowl, but I expected them to be someplace other than out in the open with the heavy rain.
LOL on drugs and Fleetwood Mac, Linda. With all the rain here, mold is heading sky high. I guess even black AZ dogs get used to dealing with some heat. Do you put booties on Micki to keep his pads from burning on hot sidewalks? Do you still have kolache leftovers?
Liz, I know you'll be happy when the transit system there is back to pre-covid levels and things will hopefully not be so crowded. I hope St. Crazy isn't living up to its name today. What's the latest on SM? Is she in a rehab facility or still in the hospital? I hope she gets her mind straight and becomes more cooperative in her recovery. But, given her mental state, I know that is probably too much to expect.
How are the lower extremities today, Becky? I'm glad you got some rain because we both know what the summer will probably be like (unless there are hurricanes and that brings other challenges). Did the fence get repaired so the cattle can be in their usual place?
My poor girl has had a stressful day. We had storms rumbling when we got up and it was still dark, which intensifies the effects of the lightning. She didn't leave my side and was cuddled up with me shaking. She still hasn't eaten breakfast and it's well past lunch time. She was plastered to Dale while I was out. The rain was coming down hard when I left the hair salon and I almost blew off the gym. Wish I had because it was crowded and I couldn't even get on half the machines I usually use. Part of the problem was the 20-somethings tend to be on one machine but using one or more adjacent machines to hold their phones, water bottles, etc. So I did what I could and came home. My hair appointment was about 90 minutes later than usual, which was a large part of the problem. I need to remember to go before instead of after if I have another late appointment. I hit quite a few flooded roads on the way home and told Dale when I got here that I need new tires badly. Getting those lined up is on my agenda for the afternoon.

Chele, thanks for the start. My apologies to the grapevine! I'll let you know if I see one again. I'll take whatever break I can get on the temps. The worst part of it getting hotter is that it stops cooling off at night and we only get lows in the mid to upper 70s. I have Covid anxiety too. I know we have more protection than we did before, but I feel like it's not enough with all the idiots out there that won't get vaccinated. And like Linda said, there's still that 10% chance which isn't insignificant. We got a little shower yesterday, but it's been dry and hotter today. We're supposed to get some rain later this week that will cool put us back into the 80s for a couple of days. Karen, groan on the Star Wars jokes! I don't think we're getting record highs, thank goodness. I've seen ducks sit in the water when it's pouring too. There are lots of trees where they could take shelter if they wanted, so it seems strange. It's been quiet at the pond today. I don't think even the birds like to be out there in the blazing sun. Has Arya calmed down any? Those storms do seem worse when it's dark. I don't think I could handle a crowded gym right now. Pretty rude of them to hog a machine with their stuff. Glad you made it home safely. DeSantis issued an order at the end of the day yesterday that ended all Covid restrictions at the local level. The mayors were blindsided and got this with no warning. The 3 counties in this area all had mask mandates, so I guess those are gone.
Here's another groaner:
Why did the Jedi cross the road? To get to the Dark Side.
Waving to everyone. May the fourth be with you all!

Thanks for the start Chele. We have shades and I'm not crazy about them either. They wear out, come down and can't roll them back up. Scooter said thank you. She started licking it out of the bowl and looked at me like where did this come from? I am not buying her any this year but this was in the bottom of the freezer and yesterday it was plain hot. I didn't walk this morning because we had an unexpected t-storm so I walked in the house. We had to go to Wally after it stopped but I was able to walk this afternoon. It was in the 70's and 15 MPH wind but the wind felt good. I guess since we kept going to the grocery store crowds haven't bothered me during Covid. We haven't eaten out much though. I don't remember the last time but we will probably remedy that soon.
Karen My knee gets tight off and on. It usually depends on how much walking I do. We did get another 1/2" this morning in an unexpected t-storm so we didn't get out of the 70's today. We are supposed to have better weather tomorrow. However it was drizzling in the sun this afternoon and my MIL used to say that means it will rain the same time tomorrow so we will see. Scooter hates thunder too. When I was walking in the house this morning during the rain she was under foot the whole time. With the recent rains my Dusty Miller has taken off. It is shooting up and wider. My petunias are taking a beating because when it rains it rains hard even if not much accumulation at a time.
