What can you do today to lose or maintain your weight and stay healthy?

At 96ยฐ it will be our hottest day of the week and then it will be in the 80s for several days until next week. At least it isnโt 100ยฐ. That will come soon enough.I will definitely walk early as most of the neighbors are doing now and then I will help Leo after breakfast. Iโm not sure about other plans. Yesterday afternoon I paid any remaining bills and balanced the checkbook for the previous month. In honor of Cinco de Mayo I am making skinny taste chicken enchilada soup for dinner with small corn and wheat tortillas that have hatch chilies in them and a big green salad. I posted the wrong flag but it isn't showing up.

I will track, hydrate, move, stay positive
The letter I was writing disappeared twice...I am frustrated...sort of. Not doing anything for Cinco de Mayo. Wish we had Mexican food available but...not making it from scratch...not today.
I went through my old journal and weight loss tracker from 1998/9 and see that I hit the doldrums a few times and often for more than a month at a time. I also see that by sticking with it I eventually broke through. I figure the same will be true this time.
SUSI: I like weighing every day and keeping track of it in my journal. I can go back and see in numbers how I have done. It doesn't deter me. After looking at the chart and remembering I am feeling I will just keep on doing what has been working and stick with one program (probably Core or Purple or anything with zero point fruit since we have fruit coming into season) and wait for the weight to start dropping again. With almost forty (and overall fifty) pounds gone I think my body is readjusting and realigning and girding up for the next drop(s) to goal weight. I am starting to exercise again and drink plenty of water every day. I wish I didn't have to boil and filter the water and just drink it from the tap but...it is what it is I need to do taxes and FATCA...not looking forward to it but it will get done...kind of like you doing the payroll!
BECKY: I am glad you can walk inside when it rains.
LADONNA: I sometimes feel like a waffling wonder with my decision to do this that or the other program. With the fruit coming into season...I am waffling again
MJ: How nice to have found your best Medicare option via the suggestion of a friend who "knew a guy".
ANN: How far is the walk to the mailbox? How fun to be able to foster after you get hour furever dog!
BEE: Good news about the vitamin B12 levels.
LADONNA: I can just see Lucy following you on your walks inside...she might think it is a game
AUDREY: Enjoy Cinco de Mayo! Let me know if the mosquito zapper helps!

Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...

It's gray and rain is in the forecast. It looks like a great day to curl up on the couch and read. I'm so glad that we did a grocery run yesterday. Also that we finally got the parsley and dill into the ground. Today's rain and cooler temps will help the plants set in; they're in a "hot spot" on the south side of the house, near the butterfly garden.
Is anyone celebrating Cinco de Mayo? I may acknowledge the spirit of the day with salsa on my veggie omelette, but that's about as wild as I'll get. No margaritas, mariachi, or maracas here today.
Coffee first... โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ... then breakfast... then Not Much...
๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐

Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful. We shall have a Boston Terrier on Saturday Overjoyed doesn't come close to what we are both feeling. His name is Benjamin and he is 10 years old. He's from New York and the gal is going to meet us in Hartford Connecticut not too far of a distance from us. Just in time for Mother's Day!!!!! Audrey I don't blame you in the least for walking early. That temperature is HOT. Have fun helping Leo and your meal sounds delish. Cathy yes the same will ring through this time around. You are doing well. The mailbox is not far from us.
MJ we have the same weather. Going to rain on and off today. It poured later last night which lulled me to sleep. I am not fond of Mexican food so we don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
Today I have a hair cut/color at noon and so looking forward to getting that 'human feeling' again LOL. Waving and shall CBL

Stay cool Audrey. Glad you can help Leo today. Dinner sounds good. Cathy - As long as you just look at it for accountability, you are fine. I find that I "change up" the plan based on seasonal foods. MJ - I'm holding off until after Mother's Day for planting. The "heat seekers" need consistently above 50 and that's not looking likely at the shore until after the 15th. Gotta love a cool ocean breeze. I'm overjoyed for you and Carl, Ann Good morning Becky WI was 5.2 below goal. I got there a little early so I could stop for produce on the way in to work as the forecast for later is heavy rain and tstorms. I'm falling asleep fine but have been waking up around 3-3:30. May try slow release melatonin tonight to see if that helps. I'm now 3 episodes behind on Big Sky. Maybe Saturday afternoon if it rains as it's too intense for me to watch at night.

Good morning - KOKO at work and then later have an appt for a cut and color. Much needed! I have some returns I need to do while in town so it will be a late night. Will pick up some dinner while out. Audrey, sounds like its going to be a scorcher for you. Our temps are not nearly that warm yet even though I know we will be right behind you. Has Bob heard from his MRI? Sorry if I missed it. Your soup sounds perfect. Cathy, I bet the extra movement and hydration will do it. I've been getting in a lot of water lately and it is helping me. I don't much like water but I am using enhancers to help make it go down. LOL MJ, I had a mexican frozen meal for lunch yesterday - should have saved it for today's lunch LOL The couch and reading sounds heavenly. Ann, I am just thrilled for you and Carl! Can't wait to see some pics of sweet Benjamin and hear all about him Hope we both enjoy our hair pampering. Susi, congrats on your WI - fabulous. I also have been waking up during the night and its not fun. I am way behind on Big Sky and I agree its intense! I also want to watch the last season of Younger. I love it and it is light and fun. I have another packed weekend coming up so not sure when. Waving to Becky, Bee, and June - have a lovely day!

Thanks Susi and LaDonna. There will be stories Yeah Sue on your fantastic weight loss. We have the same weather. I must remember to tote the umbrella or look like a drowned rat when I get out of the salon! LaDonna enjoy your pampering as well. Don't blame you for getting take out on a late night.

Ann, early welcome to Benjamin. He doesnโt know how lucky he is. I hope he is a very sweet dog. So sad to be 10 and homeless. MJ, Fresno is over 50% Hispanic so lots of Cinco de Mayo celebrations here.
Susi, we are eating our lettuce and radishes. We have no cool ocean breezes. Your garden always lasts a long time into the fall. Our farmer friend invited us to pick melons in July but it will be 100 or more. Buying them at the store sounds better. We are getting good ones from Mexico
Cathy, I keep track of daily weight and steps. It encourages me to know I was in another decade in March. Weight loss is as slow as a turtle.

We just got off the phone with Stephanie, Benjamin's mom. Apparently she needs to foster him out due to her 2 children that run around and Benjamin is stressed out over it. She's had him as a puppy...her children are 1 and 3 and she is afraid that Benjamin will react. Such a sad situation. Not having children I had no comment or could not offer any solutions. However my heart went out to her.
And the story gets stranger.......here goes....Benjamin and LuLa are the same age born on the same day...Halloween....to me THAT'S a sign.
Now I'm going to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee.
Audrey praying really hard that Bob gets some answers with the pain specialist.
Will CBL

Audrey - prayers for Bob and you as you move forward and try to find answers. Ann, I bet Stephanie is sad since she has had him since a puppy. Bad situation to be in. My heart also goes out to them BUT if Benjamin has to go - I can't think of a better place for him to spend some time. I'm sure it will be a blessing for you all. How cool that he has the same birthday as Miss Lula
