Karen, those are irises in the avatar. We dug them up from DM’s garden before we sold the house. What are your plans for your upcoming birthday?
Went grocery shopping this morning and it is yard work this afternoon. Tomorrow, hair cut after 6 months!
Waving to all.

Thanks for the festive start, Chele. I have fish marinating for fish tacos and we may celebrate with a little Blue Moon Light Sky. How is the eye doing? When do you go back to the eye doc? Is that they only patch of your DM's irises you have left? Nice to have that memory. How was Krogering this morning? Do your grocery ads start on Wednesday like ours do? That used to be the worst day to go grocery shopping. I tend to go on either Tuesday or Thursday now, so not a problem. I hope you got a lot of yard work done and your allergies didn't get stirred up. Are you going to do anything different with your hair this time? No concrete birthday plans at the moment. Dale is planning to go to the Rails-to-Trails north of us on Saturday and pick up dinner at the Thai place we liked so well. We usually get enough food that we can have it for dinner both Saturday and Sunday. Weather permitting, I may take out the kayak, but we may be expecting some rain. They are predicting another wet week for us.
Kathy, is you avatar the heron before or after the fish? I know rain or no rain can be a double edged sword in your area. It can be extra humid with the rain or extra hot without it. You should have seen the mourning doves in the heavy rain yesterday. Talk about drowned rats with wings! Arya seems to be back to normal today. She did eat dinner last night after the storms had passed, but the wind picked up a little this morning and she was on the alert. I guess covid is over in FL 😕. Don't you wish! I wouldn't look for him to do anything if cases start spiking again. Doesn't he have a habit of blindsiding the mayors like this? Did you hear the oversight board upheld the ban on Trump being able to get back onto Facebook? That was a huge surprise. Now we'll see what Zuckerberg decides to do since it got punted back. There needs to be a lot more control on social media platforms. I had seriously considered closing my FB account if they let him back on. The gym was more crowded yesterday than I would have liked or I probably would have approached the 20-somethings about leaving their stuff everywhere. Did you hear about how candy companies are now trying to get you to impulse buy their products when you order groceries online? Apparently their sales are down since people aren't standing in a checkout line.
I wish Arya would just growl at the thunder, Linda. I keep thinking she'll get more used to it, but it only seems to get worse. We don't want to have to give her drugs to calm her down. Did you sleep late again this morning? That is so bizarre about the way you were treated at the museum by people who knew you! The management at the gym I go to on Thursdays is so much better than the Tuesday one. They are different franchise owners of the same company. The people at the Thursday gym aren't as bad about leaving their stuff everywhere and the staff pays more attention. Sorry things are getting so HOT for you already.
Becky, I guess you're just happy for any rain you get, given how many years you have dealt with droughts. Did you get afternoon rain today? We are getting a little unexpected shower right now. Happy belated birthday to Scooter and I'm glad she enjoyed her treat. She didn't even realize you found it at the bottom of the freezer. Dusty Miller can really take off. We used it in window boxes at the demo garden for that very reason. Poor petunias. They'll come back though.
The turtle in my new avatar was sitting next to the driveway when Dale took Arya out after dinner last night. He's one we rescued off the road and he lives in our woods. I guess he just came up the hill to say hello, so I got a few pictures of him. He's your basic Eastern Box Turtle. I wasn't able to get a picture of his red eyes (males have red eyes and females have brownish eyes). We've had cloudy weather with probably 1/4" of rain but no t-storms to freak out Arya. I'll vacuum after I post, but this has been pretty much a MG day. I got a few more volunteers to work the plant sale, part 2 on Friday and Saturday. I had hoped to not work but need to go in for a couple of hours on Friday morning, so that shouldn't be too bad. I also proofed and sent out the May newsletter and was back and forth with the newsletter editor, who is already dreading my presidential term coming to an end (that makes one of us😂). It also looks like the secretary is going to resign and I asked her if she would stay through this month but have't gotten a response. She gave a vague reason that has something to do with family. She has 7 kids and homeschools, so I don't know how she does all she does as it is.
Waving to the rest of the crew.

Chele, pretty flowers! That's very cool that they're from your DM's garden. Karen, that's the heron after the first fish and before the second. He took a break after the first one and then went back for seconds and got a smaller, silvery fish. He must've been hungry! It's humid when it's hot too, so I'll take the rain. Well, if DeSantis says Covid is over here, then it must be over! Yes, he has a habit of blindsiding the mayors. The ones in the bigger cities tend to be Democrats, but the one in Seminole County is R and also said he was surprised by the order. He made the comment of "let's hope he's right". They had a mask mandate there too. Mayor Demings says he is looking into what rights the counties have to set their own rules. I saw that about the FB board and was also surprised. It's been so much calmer without him spewing lies on FB and Twitter. FL just passed a bill levying huge fines on social media if they ban political candidates, so I'm sure that's going to end up in lawsuits. I haven't seen any pushes to buy candy on Instacart. I'll see if there's anything new when I put my next order in. That shell is really pretty on your resident turtle. I haven't seen any of the pond turtles venture very far onto land. The county has been doing some kind of work on the pond the last couple of days, so the noise has scared off the wildlife. I'm not sure what they were doing, but it might have been work on the storm drain.
Waving to everyone and hope you're having a good day.

Linda, I saw where they're scanning the AZ ballots to see if they have bamboo in them since that would obviously prove that China smuggled in ballots! It would be funny if all of this wasn't undermining our election system. Wow on the 100. We hit our first "feels like" 100 this week, but hopefully won't be seeing any triple digits for real. Groan on the Sinko de Mayo. I guess you had to get even with us for yesterday.

Thanks for the start Chele. Beautiful flowers. That's a long time between haircuts. Enjoy.
Karen My DMIL was wrong this time. She is not even here anymore so I'm sure it's an old wives tail but sometimes it does work out that way but not a cloud in the sky. We had what they would call a Chamber of Commerce Day. Our high was 79 with a nice breeze. I bought another Dusty Miller at HEB today but it has different kind of leaves. They are curly looking. If it doesn't work out I have only lost $2.50 so no big deal.
Waves to all.
