This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle: 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

THINK FIRST THURSDAY ~ I have my salad ready to grab & go, will just grab some broccoli and dip for a snack. I have my tea & protein/collagen powder at work, and the chicken is still in the fridge for dinner tonight! (Last night I decided to just do leftovers - since Tracy wasn't home to start dinner after all!)
I am THINKING that all of this mindfulness and focus HAS to be leading me into a healthier weekend! LOL Even with Mother's Day, I need to retain my focus! I know there will be a very high carb/calorie/point brunch.
So what can you all THINK First about today???

Well my WORK IT WEDNESDAY went well, but my dinner was higher carbs than I thought! THIS is why I need to Track first ~ Eat later!! WW Points were OK, earned the blue dot - and Fitbit says 7 of 10 again! Between training and what not, I missed a few! Today is supposed to be dry - breezy, but dry, so MAYBE I will get outside for a dot or two today!
Sue: So today's your last day of work! WOO HOO!!!!
Gabrielle: Ahhh, so easy to lose sight of tracking when the workplace and schedule get in the way!! I do hope you can carve out some time to get back to tracking. You are right, with so much out of your control, making time to track will help you feel in control of something!
Yeah, I thought so too - about the TKR. Ken is so laid back, I am sure he will not push for more answers. Especially if the cortisone continues to help! There is also another shot - not cortisone, but a gel like something, they can "try" too! I just don't have the mental energy to do this FOR him.
I hope you tracked - I hope you tracked...
Jenny: Hey girl, nice to see you again! Seems it's been a while! YAY to being back at the plant you love!! Nice - a long weekend too?? WHEW! So glad that Audrey will be able to do BOTH graduation and dance!!
Yes! Holly comes in, sits at her desk, joins conversations, not like she's a recluse, but ya' know, does her thing... lets us do ours... I do like Emily, but Man she tires me out!! LOL Today is supposed to be dry. Not sure how much SUNSHINE, but DRY will be a welcome change! (Sorry Gabrielle)
Oh dear ~ Hope you can figure out what foods to avoid, to feel better.
Sue: Better safe than sorry - easier to get gas yesterday than wait until the drive home to or from the airport! YAY for being caught up and on task at work! Always better to leave for vacation with an empty desk/inbox.
The picnic table is IN THE SUN, so a lot of people don't sit there, and I do tend to go later than most people. Some days at the 12-1 hour (pre-covid) the table would be full! Once in a while, there are non-employees sitting there.
Hmm, hard to tell if they are quick learners or not. Emily seems to be OK with most of her daily work now, a few questions here & there, but for the most part she's "got it"! She sat with me yesterday, and her eyes kind of glazed over! LOL I know it will take time - and for now I am just showing her the basic daily stuff that needs to be done while I am gone. I do NOT expect her to be fully covering me in June. I will come back to a week of backlogged ATM Settlement, but - that's OK. I am more comfortable with it now, and (on a good day) it can be done in 10 minutes... so no biggie. Our main "concern" is that she be trained on the daily stuff - so K doesn't have to back me up any longer! Go figure, that's what we are "concerned" about! LOL On the flip side, I will not be backing K up either - so there is a silver lining!
NO, no word on where/if we are moving. The maintenance guy did tell Deb a couple places they looked at, but one is too expensive to renovate for our needs. We had a "special huddle" yesterday, for John to "remind" us that just because vaccines are out there and available, now is NOT the time to let our guard down! Keep the masks, keep distancing, no hugging or handshaking... yadda... yadda... yadda... and no word when I will be back in the office full time either!
Ugh coming home I think (now) we land at 11 pm! Then the 1 1/2 hour drive home will suck! I was thinking about getting a room near the airport for that night! LOL We talked about getting a room the night before we fly, but we wouldn't get down there until like 8 PM and then we'd still have to be out early... easier to just hit the road at 2/3 AM and make it work!
Oh yeah, an hour and a half away from DM wouldn't make any sense for a weekend visit. Glad you have your hotspot to enjoy some normal while staying with DB & DSIL.
The Amazon thing was the "usual" scam... someone called and said I have suspicious activity on my Amazon account - bought an IPad and having it shipped to SC. They wanted access to my computer... she didn't/wouldn't allow that, but then she freaked out about it. I CALMLY reminded her that this happens all the time. I ignore the calls - go into my Amazon Account and see NO SUCH CHARGES, NO SUCH ORDER... UGH, she panicked, because she HAD just ordered something - not an IPad... UGH, she was just too hyper for me to walk into after a work day!
SW was simply the cost of our "new" flight had gone down, so they issued us credits. But not just $$ refunds, and instead of giving all the SW Credits to one person (of course) we all have a $28.00 SW Credit to use. HA! $28.00... should be refunded to the CC used to pay for the trip. I do not need SW Credit of $28.00! Guess we'll have to spend it on the plane if they are selling anything these days! I am sure the credits will expire before we fly again, and even if they don't - $28.00 off a flight?? LOL Just seems silly.
OH good, I am sure DB will let you use a car to get "away" one evening... yes, I know, the main reason for the trip is to visit DM, but since she turns in early each night, you will have a few hours to "waste" on yourselves!
Thank you! Yes! Ken is waiting to see how the cortisone does... then he will probably try the gel - worse case the surgery gets pushed off 1 more year, but he is thinking about an appointment with the surgeon again - to figure this out!
Karen: OMGoodness - what a day for you and Emily! {{{{hugs}}}} So glad you are there, and can help out with the little things that need to be done. UGH No one could cover the ballgame for James to be home with his wife?? I know they appreciate you and Tony so very much, please remember to take care of YOU during this time too. Remember you are no good to Emily, if you let yourself get rundown! {{{{{hugs}}}}} ♥ Hopefully Miss Eleanor gets her butt moving/turned around and all lines up for an easy delivery May 23!

Good morning!
Leaving soon for our Thursday run (wow, glad that it is Thursday!) --- I have an after-work awards thing so won't be home until 7:30 pm or so. It is always a good thing to recognize people but I am going to be tired--stayed up too last last night working on things. Again, glad that it is Thursday.
Carole: Thanks for starting us. Sounds like Ken has a couple of options for now--and you are right, it is not your problem! I just hope that he isn't in pain after all of this. So, NO, I didn't track again! Today is a new day, right? And I am actually eating okay---not sure why I am out of the habit. Hope that you have a good day!
Sue: I am so excited for you ---enjoy your short get away---it is a day longer than our trip to Las Vegas so it might really feel like time away! Glad that Jim has two cars and hope that works for you. Have a good day!
Jenny: So good to see you and so glad that the dance/graduation issue is smoothed over---lots of stress there! A three-day weekend will be nice too! Enjoy your day today--good to see you!
Karen: I am sure that you are exhausted! Hoping that Emily continues to feel "ready" and more settled as you help her get those things done. This time next year, you will both be getting ready for Mother's Day
Okay, gotta go ladies. Have a good day and I look forward to going back to bed tonight (already!) LOL.

Emily is back in the hospital (at one point her blood pressure was 177/122 today) and she will stay there until she is 34 weeks and will deliver Eleanor on May 23. (The day after my birthday.) As of right now, she is breach so that could mean a c-section... Emily's blood pressure is "down" but still high this evening... Baby is still doing well. I'm tired.
